Well, Iowa and Yamato (cause everyone comparing them to Bismarck) were classes from 40+. Bismarck were built during 36-39. All these ships were a top tier for their time among battleships.

The new Jersey would run a fade on the Bismarck

i like how people are comparing Bismarck to other ships like Yamato or Iowa classes, they literally didn’t know that Bismarck was an 1939 battleship, meanwhile Yamato and Iowa classes are from 1940+

Fr. All these classes were a top tier for their time. It was a progress with air carriers and the planes that ended the battleship era. And the dreadnought type of those ships.

Not many people know this, but the Bismarck instead of being a "She" are actually a "He" hence why the Bismarck and it's sister ship even Tirpitz are called the "Kings of the Atlantic". They were designated as "He" for being so Magnificent that they should use Male pronouns. (To put this out there, no I'm not saying this cause the Creators Bismarck is a female, I thought it'd just be a cool fact due to being a history nerd.)

Bismarck was also a political figure as it was associated with the growth of the Third Reich (Empire) and it being better then the republic one and if it sunk, it can be seen as a Symbol of German soon death (if you know)
