My neighbors have 6 big dogs and I live near a fire station, so 2 to 3 times a day the dogs howl like maniacs for about 45 seconds. I normally howl with them.

You may notice there's always just one dog that gets the whole group howl started. That dog will start and get ignored at first, but will keep trying and finally the whole group joins in.

I grew up with dogs and also next to a fire station. I so feel for you. And I used to drive the family nuts by howling along. LOL.

The one in our neighborhood sings with our Texas Heeler all afternoon across the ravine

@@beverlycass1840 we are the neighborhood of loud dogs. Only one neighbor doesn’t have a talking dog, and they live in the part that gets the least of the noise. Very lucky us

So cute. Gotta love the one just sat up on the airbed quietly watching.

Love this breed gentle giants is the best description I’ve heard of them . Have a lovely photo of my mam with one outside muckcross house in Kerry . She’s a tiny five foot nothing and then the big hound opposite her !

Awww they want to be together. All us Irish are the same . 😊 We slept all in my mammys bed even though we had our own rooms, aunties , cousins the lot, we talk all night & crash in pile. Home is the ones you love 💚☘ Greetings from Dublin.

We call that barking in my neck of the woods lol..

I am blessed with two fuzzy family members. Gretta a schnauzer and Duke's a great dane. The first time Duke howled it startled her, but soon was singing with him.

@tjscott395 You are either deaf or not as much of an expert as you think. There is howling at the beginning. I have 4 Irish Wolfhounds so know more than you. So there.

I have an Irish Wolfhound and he sounds exactly like this. He howls.

I love the wolfhound but not all serenading at the same time haha.🐾🐾👍👍🐕

When I go over the rainbow bridge, I imagine this is what it will sound like. All my lovely hounds who have gone ahead will greet me. Starting with my first, and always heart hound from forty years ago...and the last rescue who left us at Easter. Add in any more rescues who might need a good home between now and then. They are wonderful dogs.

My beautiful girl Leila I so miss, a Wolfie crossed with a great dane... all my dogs since have been Wolfies crossed with something, two crossed with greyhounds, another Wolfie/deer/stag hound. Can't catch bunnies, but don't even try to catch Kangaroos.

Wonderful sound! Love big dogs.... a good size. Little dogs the size of cats don't work for me, especially those with tongues hanging out all the time. My aunt had a Pekinese when I was little, and it used to chase me and bite my feed. My ankles were always bleeding. Gross. The bigger the better... unless they are basset hounds or bloodhounds my fave dogs of all. But a lovely rangy Irish Wolfhound with an Irish Farm to match seems to be perfection to me!! :)

My sister had a Pekinese. The little prick bit me on the hand. He came back to do it a second time. That was when he got slapped. He spun around 3 times before he hit ground. Never bit me again. We got along just fine after that.

I too have a lot to say.

They can bark/ howl as much as they like they are just Devine .❤️❤️🌞🍝☮️👻🇬🇧

Fine "chop mouths" on them! I LOVE Irish Wolfhounds, but here they are hard to find, and EXPENSIVE. And sadly, the bigger the dog, the bigger the heartbreak, and all the sooner!

These dogs are barking, not howling. When I was fourteen my folks bought a breeding pair of wolfhounds from Ireland. Their first night in the kennel they set to howling, sounding just like the wolves of Yellowstone Park. It was a beautiful yet eeire sound I will never forget. Their howling truly fits the wolfhound name.

They look all warm and fuzzy but they are exterminators.

My dogs got a kick out of this video

You know it’s a big dog when the younger ones are the size of a normal dog.

This brings back wonderful memories... At a national show each day hundreds of Irish Wolfhounds would join in howling. It would start at one end of the park and rolled across the park like a wave. That happened once each of the 3 days. It was certainly an experience that will stay with me forever. Happy New Year's to all.

@@wolvebriggirishwolfhounds4022 Thank you. I wish I had thought to have a camera ready with audio. But, one never knew when or if it would start. I think there were between 4-500 hounds.

I have a miniature whirehaired dachshund they look like tiny Irish wolfhounds.

At what point was the howling? All I heard was barking.

@@wolvebriggirishwolfhounds4022 Our St Bernard used to howl when Archie & Edith sang Those Were the Days. Also when we played the theme to The Godfather. His mouth was a perfect O and each howl would last 4 or 5 seconds. These moronic beasts are just barking their heads off 😄

A common misconception. They are intelligent dogs. Just very sensitive and require a lot of patience to train. They are long-distance hunters at heart. Used to making independent decisions away from owners. So commands often need to be repeated to them as they have a mind of their own. But yes, they are very cute 💙

We have always had large breed dogs, our great Dane passed with cancer 2 years ago. I am very drawn to Irish Wolf hounds as my next large breed . Hard to find here in the US .

They howl/sing when they get excited but generally, they're not big barkers. Depends on the dog, though, like any breed. Our own Duffy for example is a great guard dog and is constantly barking at everything 🙄

That’s a Covid howl, best get them vaxxed 🤣🤣
