First heard this 20 years ago, and it's still one of the prettiest songs I've ever heard. And thanks for the lyrics in Irish - spelled properly too I might add...

And I have been viewing them when time permits. Ireland is a proud part my heritage - hope to visit soon, but working hard to pay my way in life and stumbling between the immensities!

Its really worth it mo chara, some places here are breath taken. And the way there is stone-age monuments everywhere is a real testament to just how old Ireland is, I have a few videos of some really cool spots and soon to have more as I have to go to wolfe tones grave for the anniversary of his death. If you ever come to Ireland I would be happy to show you around my part mo chara :D

I'm Irish and Mexican. And im American, its for the most part,a dumb thing if you explore your Irish roots in America. NOT all of us americans, but some of us are somewhat ashamed to be Irish. Which my family is not, I'm from the o'feargail clan, from Longford county. I love Ireland. Everything around me is inspired by Ireland. I am Mexican as well...but I'm in love with my Irish backr5so much... I am so in love with Ireland that I am willing to share my breAthing with her...gawd bless you ireland...is breá liom éire thú!

Isn't it great for the birds That rise up every morning And roost with each other On the same bush or spray But that's not how it is For both me and my true-love For it's far from each other That we rise every day

In the glens of the lonely wood I am weak and sad From Sunday to Sunday As I spend my life I look every evening to see Who would walk on the road or come to the house And there's no one on the great earth Who would come and lift my heart

I love America, but if history were different I would have been reared there. And something in my blood and soul screams to return! It is a travesty that the truths of history are distorted by morons. My people were from Roscommon and Galway so a lot of Clannad's music hits chords within me - we made a difference here though.

I'm not American, I have never been to America but would love to go see a civil war reenactment :D I love anything to do with follow Irish men/ women. If England and the landlords had their way we all would have been in America. If you are not from Ireland I have some really short but nice videos I took of my area :D maybe you might like them maybe you won't but hey I like them and I'm very proud of my heritage :D

New age synthy stuff? Clannad had an etheral sound all right, but they pre-dated new age. A lot of it imitates them. It is unfortunate that even Clannad was infected by the fad. I view synthy stuff mostly as musical mascara for performers who have no real talent. I think Clannad developed their sound organically, but adopted synthy stuff as an adaptation to what was currently in vogue. It cheapened their music in my opinion.

See that is were your history is very wrong. Irish people back then didn't go to America by choice, nor did they steal any land from any native, you are thinking of the ulster Scot/Irish these are the men who later formed the KKK. We are totally different to England only thing we share is the language that was forced upon us. If we done so bad to the natives why are they some of the only people to have sent Ireland food during the Famine? which mite I add was later taken and sold by England
