As I listen to this piece I see a thousand nuances of vibrating colour-not simply for her impressive stylistic accomplishment but also for what they reveal of Irina's efforts to extract an art of harmony and refinement from her own familiar surroundings, she seeks to extract a sense of the permanent from our fleeting transitory world.This is piano playing at its best, an art of refinement and control, slowing down the tempo of our everyday life and transforming the mundane into a source of magic

I was wondering what the miracle of this fantastic performance is: the sound of the piano, the delay... but it is Irina herself, and there is something in her playing that is not decribable, it is much more than "only" feeling- might be she comes from another planet :-), so beautiful, deep and lifefully- I never heard this Impromptu in a better Version.

After watching her series on the nuances of the piano, this is the selection I immediately turned to. The changes in melody, bass/treble, and volume are more easily detected by me now. I also enjoyed the photography-very relaxing with the music.

I have heard many recordings of this beautiful piece of music, but I have never heard it played better,Thank you. Whilst the cinematic accompaniment was interesting to see I would prefer to watch how you play it so we all can learn.

You realize your skills as an artist whenever you manage to recreate the original as if it were your own work and give it the meaning the composer intended to convey. This is beyond the notes on the sheet, it is a fusion of hearts and minds across the time, in the bliss of eternity. Every musician tries to put in sound his or her experience of the transcendental, through his or her individual character. Irina really understands Schubert's frame of mind, as we still witness it from his letters, and can merge with his soul to express what he felt and saw in his inner eye. The meditative pictures and the sublime beauty of nature in them match this perfectly. But nothing moves us more than sound...

learning this piece right now, and very glad to come across this recording. Lankova is one of the great pianists of our time

How very sensitive rendering of this masterpiece! I am sorry my written Russian is not good enough to convey the full palette of my feelings upon listening to your Schubert´s version. When everything seemed said, when Horowitz, Ashkenazy, Benedetti, and Pires seemed to have squeezed the last drop of beauty here you come and show us the hidden face of the score. Oh, those wonderful low-note trills of Schubert. He used that to such incredible effect in his last Piano Sonata D. 960 in B flat in the marvelous first movement. Great poetic playing here and nicely captured scenes outside, so beautiful, just like this masterpiece on solo piano by Schubert.

Wonderful Irina. I played this a few years back but developed a Left shoulder injury whilst practicing it, as the left hand seem very still for long periods, and also doing those left handed trills. The greatest part you do Irina is making this “difficult piece” - sound easy ! Wonderful. 👍🙏
