there's alot of these estates being built up again . The celtic tiger was all on the back of construction at the time and when that bust the whole country went with it . Tbh it was crazy how much credit that was available to people back then .. We paid a high cost to bail out the banks in the aftermath .

I'm idea to fix it is to open an art school close to the housing let the students live in the houses for free have shops that sell the art and grungy coffee shops and cafes . Protections halfwits will be wetting their pants to buy and live in the area , problem solved !

i would use these houses and accept donations to help homeless peoples who lives in the streets that does have no way out to live and rehab them until they are ready to go live their life fixed

Just as the bubble popped like in this video, the worlds dream that they think they can move here a get state housing, that dream and expectation has also popped. Right to buy should be scrapped and weekly child benefit (family allowance) £21 for 1st and £13 for second child should not be given to the parent but put into a trust fund so the kids have a house deposit. CHILD benefit most parents never spend it on the kid.

Maybe if they didn’t tax to all heck the price of gasoline people could commute to jobs.

Would I get arrested if I came to Ireland and camped in one of these ghost estates as a Canadian tourist? What a f*$king shame this is.

It’s over 10 years on, most have been either finished off or demolished. Only few remain in rural areas of the country

Yea

Better idea is to ask the oil rich countries to come and occupy or take over. They would develop the area into modern arena with ultra modern facilities and luxurious landscape. When they can develop man made land and turn into ultra modern area or locality, these ghost villages are nothing for them to convert

I'm afraid that you're failing to see the broader picture. These ghost owns exist as a result of corruption, bribery and regional prejudice. Do some research and you will understand what I mean.
