    Kieran Read chasing Rob Kearney even though he knew he'd never catch him - not allowing him to touch down under the posts therefore making the conversion more difficult. That's the difference.

    Love it, on the playback you can see Read just runs straight, he knows he won't catch him but that's not his thought. Amazing rugby intelligence.

    @@candycain2327 come on that was fair game, Read knew Kearney was grounding the ball and decide to hit him anyway. I have no issue with it, but you've got to be okay with both.

    That year was the first year a national team won all their games in a calendar year since rugby went professional. That was the last game NZ had to win to do it. Ireland had previously almost done it, but they drew a game (and didn't play NZ that year).

    This game just highlights you win a game in 80 mins, Ireland would have won if it was only a half an hour game. Ireland did good, but the abs just had the edge.

    I like the way out of it seems complete desperation that the ref needed to check out most of the ABs tries with the GM. No Northern Hemisphere REFS we know how to pass a ball and close a game out. This was a fantastic game, Irelands best chance ever to beat the Kiwi's for the first time. Must have hurt hard that NZ came back and won. By the way I do not want to hear the ABs were let off. It seems to be a Northern Hemisphere thing to always say this if NZ/SA/Oz come back and win. I call it quality, that is all it is, pure quality.

  • @georgegreen912

    @georgegreen912

    i dont think many people would dispute the quality of the All Blacks, but to suggest that refs are biased against New Zealand? Richie McCaws got let off more penalties in the last 10 years than the whole of the Northern Hemisphere, and if you watch the first England vs New Zealand game in June this year you will see the winning NZ try has 3 or 4 forward passes

    I dont think the New Zealanders realise that Rugby is at best the third most popular sport in Ireland. Gaelic Football and hurling are way more popular here. Rugby has only really become popular in the last 10 years. This is like Ireland playing England at cricket or New Zealand playing Australia at Aussie Rules

    Padraig Carroll Yea right their rugby team is probably the most professional of the lot, compared to their other sports teams, they play in the 6nations have Pro club teams & have just as many registered players as NZ every season. Rugbys not the most popular sport in England either but they have over 2million players, invented the game, have a strong club system etc ect anyone would thing they should be unbeatable.

    Sorry but i have played before and depending on what defense tactic they were using, sweeper or winger takes last man, which by this video looks like the latter, he shouldve pushed out to the furthest man and trusted his inside man to make the tackle, so how am i wrong again?

    @@malcolmknox5519 Smith to Cruden? It's definitely forward man. Look how far Smith is from the white T marking the five metre line when he releases the ball (5:35), then look how far Smith is from it when he receives the ball (5:36). There's no question that's a forward pass. I was joking about Ireland being better than NZ but that's definitely a forward pass. No big deal though, these things happen all the time. Sometimes your team is the beneficiary, sometimes it's the other way. That's life.

    @@SMacCuUladh but that's not the definition of a forward pass. Where the pass left and where it is received is generally always forward. It's if the ball leaves the hands forward that is key...watch fingers and hand direction.
