2008 was one of those years when Irish Rail started to take a turn for the worst in my opinion. Those horrible ICR 22000s were becoming the norm, freight services were slowly starting to be reduced, and the recognizable orange livery was slowly leaving the railway too.

The years 2005 through to 2010 were the years of change for Irish rail. From the end of the babies on passenger trains along the secondary lines, 071’s no loner working passenger trains to the 201’s only working on the Cork / Dublin & Dublin / Belfast push pulls. Also, with the loss of all the Cement, Shall, Guinness, Beet & overnight liners. The full withdrawal of the class 121, 141, 181’s and ten of the 201’s. Then of cause the loss of the cravens, Mk 2’s & Mk 3’s. I was luck to be in Ireland on the day of the last run of the Mk 3 set to Cork. {September 2009} to all these units taking over. This why I am glad I found these old mini camcorder tapes & have taken the time to upload them. it is all history now. Thank you for your comment 7/ I do hope that you are enjoying the videos.
