Ireland snubs Israel, makes announcement in UN to recognise State of Palestine | Janta Ka Reporter

Ireland on Friday snubbed Israel and made a huge announcement at the UN on recognizing Palestine as an independent State.
This was announced by the Ireland ambassador to the UN after the global body overwhelmingly voted in favour of a full membership of Palestine.
The assembly adopted a resolution on Friday with 143 votes in favour and nine against - including the US and Israel - while 25 countries abstained. It does not give the Palestinians full UN membership, but simply recognises them as qualified to join.
According to Al Jazeera news, while the UNGA alone cannot grant full UN membership, the draft resolution on Friday will give the Palestinians some additional rights and privileges from September 2024 - like a seat among the UN members in the assembly hall - but it will not be granted a vote in the body.

Ireland, which is probably the only western nation which has been through the difficulties of fighting for independence and been through 'the troubles', is best placed to understand the plight of the Palestiniens. Those countries that voted against the recognition of Palestine in being member of the UN don't understand is that if you keep ignoring the Palestiniens you're not going to make the problem disappear. By giving Palestine legitimacy you are showing that there is hope, that diplomacy has a way forward; and the more they are recognised, the less reason they'll have to pick up arms. This is what the Good Friday agreement did for Northern Ireland, and this is what is needed for Palestine. There is a breach in the dam, and I hope this barrier will soon crack open. Thank you Ireland.

    >>Ireland, which is probably the only western nation which has been through the difficulties of fighting for independence All western countries have fought for their independance. Even the mighty USA was once a colony. In other words, all countries of this world have once been colonized. Countries did spring out of the womb of the nature. They were formed by "criminal" lords who wanted to control and exploit the masses. This has not changed until today. When a country gain its independance, it means simply that the leaders who fought for the independance are the new masters of that country. The masses remain slaves forever.

Britain oversaw the genocidal Famine by actively exporting our other food sources letting us starve, die and flee. Now having read the above... that is why we have always fought, resisted and never bent knee to British rule. Do you (Brits) think we fought British rule for centuries for the laugh of it or something? When people fight, they fight for a good reason and when a nation fights it's because something was taken away from them! After the Norman/Anglo Invasion of Ireland in the 1100s, we then had Planters arrive as per The Plantations in 16th- and 17th-century which involved the confiscation of Irish-owned land by the English Crown and the colonisation of land with settlers from Britain. We fought back: 1. The two Desmond Rebellions took place in 1569-1573 and 1579-1583 to *fight against the threat of the extension of the English government* over the province. 2. The successful Battle of Clontibret was *fought against the British* in County Monaghan in 1595. 3. The successful Battle of the Yellow Ford was *fought against the British* in County Armagh in 1598. 4. The Nine Years' War, sometimes called Tyrone's Rebellion took place in Ireland from 1593 to 1603. It was fought between an Irish alliance to *fight against English rule in Ireland.* 5. The Rebellion of 1641 took place when Irish Catholics were being threatened by expansion of the anti-Catholic English Parliament and Scottish Planters and they *rebelled against English and Protestant domination.* 6. The Irish Rebellion of 1798 was a major uprising *against British rule in Ireland.* (The Society of United Irishmen was led primarily by liberal Protestants). The Irish wanted an end to anti-Catholic discrimination, greater Irish self-governance, and to roll back the Plantations of Ireland. 7. The Irish rebellion of 1803 was launched by Irish republicans *against British rule in Ireland* 8. The Young Irelander Rebellion was an Irish nationalist uprising led by the Young Ireland movement, part of the wider Revolutions of 1848. 9. The Fenian Rising of 1867 was a rebellion *against British rule in Ireland*, organised by the Irish Republican Brotherhood. 10. The Easter Rising of 1916 was piloted by Irish republicans *against British rule in Ireland* with the aim of establishing an independent Irish Republic. 11. The civil rights movement in the early 1960s challenged the inequality and discrimination against ethnic Irish Catholics that was perpetrated by the Ulster Protestant community. 12. Derry activists' marched on the 5 October 1968 in Derry, but were attacked by the RUC and loyalists. THAT IS A SNAPSHOT OF HOW WE HAVE FOUGHT AND RESISTED BOTH BRITISH RULE AND DISCRIMINATION BY THE UNIONIST COMMUNITY.

@@behumble2024 I did miss that and haven't seen anything about it. But don't attribute hte actions of a few to that of the many. For example, not all Palestinians are genocidal terrorists that glorify Hitler and believe women are property only to be used as servants and breeding, and want to kill all those that do not convert to their version of Islam and Sharia law. Many are just being oppressed by those Palestinians that do.

Fantastic speech. Love Ireland. Proud of my heritage there, even though I was born in Australia. Not proud of the English heritage at all.
