Ireland: Exploring Galway and Beyond

I spent a little more than a week in Ireland in the latter part of the summer. The majority of my time was spent in and around Galway, which is located on the west coast. There were trips to Inis Mór, the Cliffs of Moher and the Connemara National Park.
It struck me after the fact that the combination of exploring those places nearby and spending time getting to know Galway, might have been the absolute best way to take advantage of the time I had.
Come along and travel the world with Richard Green. Retiring in the spring of 2023, I am embarking on full-time world travel. I'm going solo, but the idea here is not to focus on me so much. It's about the places and the people along the way.
The title Old, Alone and Far From Home might initially come across as a sad state of being. My mission is to show that it's just the opposite.

Top tip from a local - if you want an experience similar to Dun Angus minus the crowds then go to the Black Fort (Dún Dúchathair) on the opposite side of the island, take a road to the right just before the airport. If staying the night on the island then try to time the visit for sunset and you’ll see the sun hitting the cliffs of moher from the old fort. It’s an amazing spot……..it’s where I proposed to my wife!

Great video, glad you enjoyed it. If you are ever here again, try visiting Ashford Castle (high end hotel) in the very beautiful, and much understated Co. Mayo, Kylemore Abbey in Co. Galway and also Powerscourt (just outside Dublin) in Co. Wicklow, are all beyond heavenly, I've left links below if you are interested in seeing them, thanks again, love from Ireland

Thank you for the recommendations! I thought all of Ireland was great, but the western part of the country was magical! I appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment.
