Quran 2:159. It's clear that cursing is a thing in Islam. Now, when it says and those who curse, I don't who it is referring to but it is clear that a people who curse are there and its not haram.

Maula Ali a.s never wanted to impose himself on the ummah that's why he never challenged the caliphate of khulfa e silasa as they had the prominent majority in their favour. When Maula ali a.s secure that support he fought those who challenged his authority and were introducing biddah into the religion by rebelling against the righteous caliph.. Also hadith e afdhaliyah make it more clear what Ali's a.s stance on shaykhain RA was Earliest shia (at the time of Maula Ali a.s, those who fought alongside him against rebels) used to prefer shaykhain RA over everyone after Rasool Allah ﷺ. Rafdhah (those who reject caliphate of two noble shaykhain RA) came later and they have nothing to do with Maula Ali a.s

I am fifty years old, imam of various congregations and studied Islam all my life (both Sunni and Shia religious knowledge). I have been Shia all my life, however, I have many Sunni friends whom I love and respect. All the Shia scholars that I have ever listened to and learned from (in various languages: Arabic, Farsi, Urdu and English) do not speak or promote such hatred. Though our understandings of how to best follow the Prophet (s) might be a little different, however, our goal remains the same: to follow the Prophet (s) and to please Allah (S). Both groups believe in One God: Allah (S), the last messenger - our beautiful and pure Rasul-e akram as our ultimate role-model, the perfect and splendid final word of God - the Glorious Quran, and the Ka'ba as our Qibla for prayer. We have far more in common (95%) than the few things that make us different (5%). Let's focus on our commonalities and unite for Allah (S)'s pleasure as He beautifully commands us in His final message: "The believers are one brotherhood, so reconcile with your brothers and fear Allah that you may receive mercy (49:10)". A people united will never be defeated. Slight differences has always existed and will continue to exist. Even our beloved Sahaba had slight differences in understandings but strove to love one another. Inspite of the tiny differences in our Ummah (in madhib and aqaid) if we unite in love and grace toward one another no one can harm us. Hate will divide and harm us. Love will unite and benefit us. We all love Palestine. Let's pray for the well-being of our brothers and sisters in Palestine and for them to be free soon insha'Allah. Let's spend our energies in seeing what we can do for them and for each other. Life is short my dear. So, let's take positive steps towards building our Ummah through positiveness, grace, compassion and kindness! May Allah (S) be with you

There always be peopole spreading fitnah between us but peopole with a brain and that actually undertand islam know that to curse the sahaba is a sin and should not be done. Myself a sunni i know many shia brothers that dont do this. This is mostly from the extremist side. Also most of them that insult the sahaba you will find them doing shirk as well and asking Hazrat Ali for help of some kindnof shirk. We should mostly unite all together. Once imam mahdi A.S arrives everything will be cleared up between us inshallah. We pray to allah for unity of the Ummah.
