No it’s in Israel’s court because the weak Biden Administration will only act if it’s defensive. Now l know they have more info/intelligence than we do but anyone in leadership can see that Biden’s team is undermining its credibility and the leadership of the US. No because India and China with huge population will not get involved and so will the most of SEA, Africa and some countries in South America. Earlier it was WW2 because most of these countries were under colonial rule of European countries but there is no WW3 from this war.

This is already a WW-3. But this one is different from the previous ones. There won't be 2 teams that nations will choose to side with and they will be attacking each other like the previous ones. This one is going to be a scattered but broader conflict. Middle east is just one of the conflicts that will take place. India vs Pakistan/China is going to be another. North Koreav vs South Korea and possibly Japan is also another area. China vs Taiwan is also brewing. Rumour has it that NATO is going to start a war with Russia using Poland as the base. All these will start at different times, due to different interests but certainly, a large number of countries will be affected by wars all over the world. That's how this WW3 would be.

Because Israel 🇮🇱 is an all time friend of India & India is supporting Armenia by providing weapons against Azerbaijan through Iran keeping Russia’s interests against Turkey. In my opinion, Iran is a friend of India . India is having a large Shia Muslim population and there is no persecution of Shias inside India. Pluralism within Indian Muslim demographic is the biggest reason for India Iran friendship Prior to 1947, India was a safe abode for Jews as well and now, Israel is a good friend of India. Hopefully India will be neutral and this conflict will not last long

If Ukraine can hold their ground against Russia (2nd strongest military) for this long with the help of monetary and military aid sent by USA And West, then Israel that is significantly strong in terms of economy, military, technology and infrastructure can hold their ground against iran. And Israel has huge support from USA and West. Israel's GDP is 564 billion dollars whereas Iran's GDP is 366 billion dollars. So Israel can afford to a long fight. These will just give Israel more reasons to fully incorporate Gaza strip into Israel.

Iran may have intentionally attacked in such a way as to cause the least damage. Israel is not like Ukraine and has a very well-equipped and trained armed forces. Iran would not risk a full-scale war unless it really has to. On the other hand, Israel also may not want to engage with Iran either, given that Iran is a possibly nuclear-armed state. The attack in Syria could have been just a warning to Iran for supporting Hezbollah and Hamas.

One of the reasons Israel could have done this was to counter Iran's support for Hezbollah. Iran now has to consider the possibility of a direct armed conflict with Israel whenever it makes any strategic move in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Israel, on the other hand, would be not great for Israel to attack a potentially nuclear-armed state, being a potentially nuclear-armed state itself. By the way, kudos to Iran for handling the situation diplomatically by attacking Israel in a manner it could defend itself. Now, even if war happens, Iran will be on the defensive side.

Israel attacked the compound NEXT to the Iranian Consulate in Damascus, where several generals of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard were present! The consulate suffered some collateral damage. 😅

You can take the credit for being right in your assessement Abhijit but in reality it is not that true. For, there is another school of thought that says, it is more of public show than anything else. Just as in the past, Iran informed and coordinated this "retaliation" with USA, Israel. USA and other western countries persuaded Israel to take this hit.Evidence can be seen in the form that Iran is claiming it was a successful attack whereas Israel and other western countries are saying they shot down majority of the drones. There is no damage to be seen in Israel, as yet. Both parties can, and are claiming victory. Now that is the beauty of this whole thing. By the way, as I understand, there was an article in FT about couple of days ago in which this scenario was laid out in advance. You may like to read and find it interesting, in case it has not been already read.

I would say the ayyatoullahs in iran made themselves a legitimate target for israel. They many not attack iranian civilians (Iran did try to attack Israeli civilians, fortunately all of them were intercepted). But, Israel would target key centers like nuke facilities etc. Not to forget that, Israel basically has a reputation to uphold.
