Thanks to the global economy, scarcity affects us all even if we don't buy from the sources that go offline. Much of the oil produced in the US is sold overseas despite it being subsided by US taxpayers. Too bad our leaders care more about the profits of the donor class than Americans.

One Offshore platform wouldn’t be but a fraction of Irans oil if this were true. They have thousands upon thousands of wells.
