iRacing ACTIVE RESET - Explained and Tutorial
Many drivers are ignoring this new iRacing feature and are definitely missing out on getting some better practice before the races. The Active Reset is an incredible tool that many pro drivers are using to increase time-efficiency in the practice sessions.
Watch this video until the end to understand the best practical ways to use this feature. If you're comparing against team mates and only want to practice one s, make sure you don't use the Custom Sectors, but instead the predetermined sectors of the track. This way they can also use Active Reset in their own Test Session and you can compare (for example, only sector 2 or only sector 4 and so on)

Gran Turismo 7 had this feature to some extent in the Circuit Experience. It's about time it's showing up in other games in more a refined form
This is amazing, a game changer. I had often told myself such a feature would be great but had no idea it existed. I wonder how long it has been there. Thanks a million for the tip!

it was introduced in the 2023 s1 build it is pretty new
I've been using it ever since it came out, it saves a ridiculous amount of time. Huge game changer for getting up to speed quickley.
Another great video. I have a little son and cannot practice a lot. Therefore this Tool is quite nice for me for practicing much more efficiently in shorter time.
OMG... A golden nugget right there. Thanks man
I have been asking for a mod like this in assetto corsa for a long time. def going to be trying this out 👍
Glad to see you talk about this feature in a positive way!

The only argument against this tool comes from people who seem to either forget that it's supposed to only be part of your practice, or just conveniently leave that out. The best argument I've seen is that using this tool takes away from practicing race laps and longer stints, but again, just do both??

Yeah right? No one forces you to only do active resets and become a pro hotlapper hahaha

@@SuellioAlmeida That indeed, but also just the fact that some actually DO call it cheating, where the argument against is ThAt It'S a SiMuLaToR (for the REAL thing, where that also isn't possible). For me, this is counter intuitive. For me, the argument is exactly that: it's a simulator. Use the tools you have! I mean, I can not imagine if any pro out there using a pro-level simulator, would not use these kind of functions to practice (may I say "drill") certain aspects, or even details, or a track, conditions in a more efficient way. What would their way of thinking be then? That you HAVE TO SUFFER USELESS TIMELOSS DURING PRACTICE or else it's cheating? - Anyway, I love this feature, I remember asking for it years ago (not taking credit for it, more have asked for it) so needless to say I was really happy hearing they were working on it. And they've given it a beautiful spin with the custom sector stuff added to it.
This feature is amazing and similar features are often seen in other competitive games to allow you to practise specific situations. It should be ABUSED whenever possible because it will make you so much better.
I just dont understand the criticism I see about this feature. It's a SIMULATOR, people! You SHOULD be able to do stuff like this!!
And me wishing they had that in ACC for ages
I had no idea aboit the existence of that tool. Since I started simracing I wonder why something like that didn't exist.
Active reset is very good. However sometimes when I reset the throttle bugs and it's stuck at 100% as if I was in overdrive. I wonder if it's related to the inputs interpolation when resetting, it's sort of random (Fanatec user). When it happens once, it'll happen over and over each time I reset. It makes this feature almost unusable for me sadly.
Let’s please have this in acc as well.
This would be even better and more powerful if the replay function worked while in Active Reset mode too.
BTW Can you update how you play your favourite piece
