That’s what happened to me. I had to buy a new phone, it got really ridiculous. My 6S literally (I’m not exaggerating) lasted 5 minutes tops. I would get in my car in the morning, and be on it for a good 5 minutes at school, and it would be dead.

Doesn't have OLED though. I'd say the XS and XS Max probably had an advantage because there are some shadows and black sections in the video which means the XS and XS Max used less power. Not much, but over 8 hours it adds up.

Marziyah Candao same thing happened to my 5s. It got so annoying that I got a new phone. I’m surprised the 8 is still a pretty powerful phone, and it’s not even that big either. Sure, a lot bigger than the 5s but still small for my hands since I prefer the bigger phones.

put on Airplane Mode with WiFi, and lower your brightness and volume. You're probably on max brightness and high volume. That's what is causing it to have low battery life. Putting Airplane mode will help, it does for me. Try it.

In two years they would barely last a couple hours of hard use. As for what we had that long ago the 4s and Nexus were pretty damn good. About 10hr battery life on iphone 4s according to google. The main problems back then was software. Still is a problem today for androids.

Screen brightness settings are all different. Please be accurate with your tests, the xs max clearly has lower brightness setting. It would have been more accurate to test them at 100%.

They are set to 50% in the beginning but it doesn't look accurate, the 10s max looks like it clearly has less. The slider isn't reliable to input accurate screen brightness. You should have started the entire test at 100% in the beginning. @@BrandonButch

Having each phone to set to max brightness is unfair as it is, the phone capable of being brighter are at a disadvantage, I think setting the phone with the dimmest screen to the max and finding the equivalent brightness with the other phones.

My XR is holding up incredibly well so far with battery life. Yesterday I had it off charge for about 30 hours and it just reached 20%. Granted, I worked and wasn’t using it the whole time. But my 7 plus would have to be charged as soon as I got home from work, less than 10 hours after taking it off.

They all have same brightness level of 50% its just that its the cheap LCD screen on the Xr compared to OLED on xs/max/x which behaves different on different viewing angles.

The battery on the XR is incredible! I was having such problems making it through the day with my old 6s but know I have battery to waste if I want, and I can make it through two full days without charging

I guess there’s different factors that come into play with the battery life on these things. Yesterday I did my own little test with my XR. I got to 10 hours and 45 minutes before it got to 10% battery life. But I was home and on WiFi all day. Switching between apps. I went from an 8 plus, glad I made the switch.

jesse Armenta I really like it, I highly recommended it. The screen is much better in person. I prefer the LED screens cause the oled has a pulse to it, and it eventually hurts my eyes and head after looking at it too long. I hate the X last year for about 2 weeks, then I returned it for the 8 plus. Only thing I miss on occasion is 3D Touch. Other than that it’s the perfect phone for me, even the size. I got the 256 GB one, so that’s a 350 dollar difference from the XS max. I can just about get a new series 4 watch with that savings! You’ll like it if you decide to get it.

I tell myself that every time I use it cause of the size, the speed, the better screen I had from my 8 plus, and the extra 350 dollars I have in my pocket cause I got the 256 gb one. I would’ve gotten the max if I went with the XS. I couldn’t justify that when this one has 95% of the same specs. Enjoy your XS, they’re great phones as well!

The Xs Max didn’t use all its pixels, and it uses OLED panel, so it may have consumed less power than it should. So suggestion for the next test is using the same wallpaper while playing videos in full screen.

It doesnt have 720p display lmao. It has a liquid retina display which is closer to 1080p. Lemme guess, some random youtuber told you it had 720p and you believed it without doing research. Also Xr does have better battery life, but when they overload it with 4k video the battery will go down faster than it needs to.

The real winner here is the 7 plus that’s acting as a timer 😂

To be fair, the resolution for the XR can only run up to 720p, all of the other phones can run up to 1080p. It didn’t have to load more stuff than the others.

As your channel continues to grow you might want to actually take the time to show your tests are accurate and consistent. Show battery health at start of video, make sure videos are being played on full screen or with black bars, do max brightness from the start instead of varying throughout the test. Etc.

Iphones: please don't watch a video any more because we're dying. The guy: don't worry I'll charge all of you once i finish my Tutorial.

A 2 hour video on my Android would have overheated it and I would have lost so much battery. I can't wait to get my iPhone🙏🙏🙌

My 5s was on 9% after watching this video

the xs max got a huge advantage on the last part of the youtube video test, the video was not zoomed in and those black parts of the screen were turned off since its a amoled screen, also set the video quality the same on every phone (1080p) this test was pretty shit

So I'm watching this during charging and i get more battery life. LOL😉😁

Plot twist: the phone that is running the timer died first

Just noticed right now, looking at 4:50 in the video, you can see the iphone x being left in the dirt by the iphone 8 (which shares the same processor). From what I was seeing during the graphical test, the performance was heavily reduced. I am thinking that this might be because of thermal throttling... Could it be?

Yes a 60000 point decrease for iPhone x

The video filming test was incredibly unfair. You had black screens on all of them which is unrealistic, and that is also why the OLED iPhones got the advantage, their screen was basically off.

Are all the batteries the same age ? if iphone 8 is 1 year old battery will not have the same capacity as a new one

Good video, and impressive life span on the XR. I am moving off the Huawei P20 Pro for that handset in the new week and excited for the changes. It will take a lot to compete with how well balanced the p20 pro is however. Plus the battery life is shy to perfect.

But lets be fr, no one is gonna watch an 8 hr video of relaxing sounds. At least nobody that I know lol.
