The mini form factor should be the one the SE4 takes, as those who use se3 or older might still prefer the smaller size. And yes 48MP could make it a sweet deal as it could could give a 2x zoom in just 1 cam.

I just don't see how all the rumoured SE4 specs fit into the current Apple lineup? If the SE4 has that form factor and specs it will be as good, if not better, than the iPhone 11, 12, 13 and 14. These are all still being sold. Apple Store still sells the 13 and 14. Also they will not be able to sell the current SE in Europe in 2025 without USB-C. If they release the SE4 in March 2024 - it could be 12/13 mini size. This would differentiate it from the iPhone 11, 12, 13 and 14. Smaller screen and battery. If they wait until March 25, then they could release the larger 6.1inch SE4. Although, at that point it could compete with the iPhone 14 which should still be in the Apple Store. Or wait until September 2025 when the iPhone 17, 16, 15 are in the store? So many questions, so few answers.

My thoughts exactly. When they retired the mini, I really thought that they were going to use that form factor for the next SE. It just made perfect sense because, as you say, one of the main reasons people go for the SE is the small form factor. The retired mini design would've been perfect for the next three SE releases, small and modern. Ah well, what could've been.

I was hoping the new SE would be the old mini... I really don't want to leave the mini form factor

I'm really sceptical that the SE4 will have the same screen size as the iPhone 13, 14 and 15 in the Apple store. What better way to differentiate a cheaper entry level phone than make it smaller with a smaller battery! Apple will not want to risk sales of their more expensive models IMHO.

I think the new iPhone SE 4 will be just the iPhone XR with the centered Apple logo and updated internals. It looks most likely to be true. I hope I'm wrong.

I think it will be similar in look to the XR, but I think it will have the smaller notch like on the 13's and standard 14's. Maybe smaller bezels too.

The only changes to the iPhone XR, I think, are the centered Apple logo, USB-C, newer camera (probably iPhone 13/14's wide lens only), three colors (white, black, Product(RED)), and A15/A16 Bionic chip for $499 and will keep iPhone SE 3 in the lineup reducing the price to $399.

I am highly skeptical that the SE will get the Action Button. That feels too early.

i think the action button is less a feature and more of a way ro handle warranry cases. the oöd mute switch is a part that is disctinctive from all other parts, while the action button is a button mechanically similar to other buttons, such as the sleep/wake button or the volume buttons. apple of course tries to sell this as a feature to us, just like usb c, that is simply complying to not well thought out EU ruling.

It feels to early but they’re the same ones who just added the Island and the 48MP cam to the base iPhones. i guarantee they’ll add the action button to the base 16s since they come in 2024 and if the SE comes in spring 2025 that makes sense

If the target is 2025 I can see it happening as they will make it standard with all 16 models then put in on the new SE

Well, this is shaping up to be a really neat budget iPhone. It looks like it will be really great and finally modern! The only thing that wouldn't be good is if they simply bump the price to $599, while "keeping the current SE in the lineup" at $399 or something. That would REALLY piss me off! But if they can just do a $429 or $449 iPhone SE 4 that looks like this, I think it would be incredible value!

Too many features would definitely drive the price up. I think it should an update XR, anything more would probably make it too expensive and not worth it.

Nice video Sam. I’m more and more inclined to update to this kind of phone because I’m less and less interested in new model phones. I need something for banking apps, browsing, payments, and something with a decent camera, but not much more.

I kinda would like a mini myself. With a beefy battery hopefully. But yes I like the SE lineup. I have my 12 which I love. Not looking to upgrade until the 17 or to stay in the ecosystem and save, an SE.

Will the SE4 have a physical sim card slot or will it be only E-Sim ?

for me. battery upgrade and night mode photography will make it perfect

This doesn’t make much sense, they’re not likely going to make a new model for the SE. They always use an old design so price can be lower (as the design costs have been depreciated). I hope they use an iPhone 11 as the new SE. Or just keep the current form factor. We need one iPhone with Touch ID and LCD as many people just can’t handle OLED screen flicker.

I feel like we could see the SE sooner than we expect, Especially to maybe take the iphones with lightning out of the line up. If we had it for 500 dollars with the oled,1 camera and magsafe it would still be a great price, and could help apple to shrink their line up which now have 8 phones. And maybe turn it into 5 which is more manageable.

I'm an android user, I want to know what does a discontinued iphone mean, does it mean that apple will stop making that iphone and it will no longer be available brand new? I searched on google but it's so confusing

I love the virtual home button on my S10e and it already has an OLED screen and a USB-c... but I guess I'm missing out as I don't have a notch!

Brother give us 13 or 12 mini as an SE model. How hard can it be?

My daughter has the IPhone SE 3 right now and it works for a 15 year old as a budget phone. Not quite ready to get her a $1000 plus phone. I could get her an older iPhone 13 maybe, but we're watching to see how she does with this one. So, that being said, I may get her the iPhone SE 4 when it comes out. We'll see.

This is definitely gonna make me think twice about getting a Pro vs the SE. After using 120hz on my older Samsung with all its smoothness, it's hard to go back to 60 hz. But everything theyre talking about is what ive been looking for without the harsh price of the Pro iPhone. So definitely gonna be skme considering once it comes out because by then, my current phone will be outdated and ready to move onto something new

12 MP is plenty for 99% of people. I usually use 12 MP on my 14 Pro unless I have some epic landscape I want to capture.

I literally just ordered a 64Gb refurbished iPhone 12 from the Apple website for £419 today. I was waiting for Apple to launch a reasonable and usable SE iPhone to replace my iPhone 8 Plus but it's worth keeping an eye on the refurbished store for those whichever-model-they-just-discontinued,stock clearance bargains.

who says the action button is a pro feature? if they’ll bring it to the SE they’re also indirectly saying they’ll bring it to the base 16s next year

I could totally see this as a secondary phone. I use the iPhone 14 Pro Max right now and I’m looking forward to updating to iPhone 16 Pro Max or Ultra or whatever. But asides from carrying such an expensive iPhone on vacation, the SE with that design would be the perfect choice.

I upgraded my SE2 to a 15 Pro and 5G has been totally over-hyped. The only 5G I have seen anywhere is 5Ge and it isn't any faster than LTE. I took a major upgrade but 5G wasn't one of them.

I remember rumors about apple maybe turning the iphone 13 and 14 usb-c to keep them their line up. If they redid the iphone 13 with usb-c and one camera it could be the SE 4

Looks like the SE3 will be my final iPhone, as a blind person I need touch ID.

My XR has been really taking a dump recently, the SE 4th gen looks compelling as hell so far. The SE 3rd gen is a slight downgrade in a few cases. I just can’t justify spending another $1000+ on a phone anymore since I know I do basic things on my phone now.

And i don't think 429 is the price. I am pretty sure it will be around 600-650 in europe.

No home button is kinda a no sell for me it just beats the gestures when the screen freezes

I’d imagine it will be on a slab sided 12/13/14 chassis with FaceID. I can’t see a TouchID iPhone in the mid 2020s. I’d doubt the camera bump on the back shown in the rendering. More likely with a thicker chassis it would be relatively flush like the XR, which would look cleaner as a single camera unit and it’ll only be 12mp?

I had an XR for a few years and wasn’t concerned about resolution or brightness etc. I actually think they will go OLED because all the slab sided later iPhones had them and they won’t want to reverse engineer an LCD screen for the chassis. I’d say it’ll be the non Pro iPhone 13 screen with notch running at 60hz which will be fine for most users and they probably have a load of those screens left over as old stock?

@@jevonsims900Apple wouldn’t do LCD it’s too late for that. Besides Sam made a good point how OLED is cheaper now to manufacture especially since it’s been a while since they’ve made the XR/11 LCD panel

My wish is that Apple would also come out with a SE type version of the Apple MacBook Air at $ 999.00 US. Love the fact that it looks like Apple will continue to make a budget Apple iPhone SE. I am with you that Apple should put the Apple 5G modem in the next Apple iPhone SE. In marketing $ 449.00 US with it being a the $ 49.00 US being that mid point in a $ 100.00 US range I feel would make more people willing to pull the trigger to purchase an iPhone rather than an Android device.

You mean… a regular MacBook… 😂 and the MacBook 13.3 is literally 999.99USD. You can’t ask for something that already exists. Also, with the education discount - which anyone can use regardless if they have ID or not - makes it 899 and the M2 Air 999 from 1099.

what about the actual dimensions of the phone? I like the iphone SE because of it's small form factor. If this thing is gonna be big, then it's not worth getting in my opinion.

What if (just what if, not saying this will happen) They still kept the touch id on the power button like some ipads, and put the earpiece in to dynamic island?

This thing is useless without a home button. I'll just buy a second Iphone SE 3 and refresh the battery on my current SE3 and hope they bring back the home button. I would buy a new one every year with a home button. Without the home button, I'll do whatever I can to make it 10 years without upgrading

I sceptical that they will make a SE4 with the same screen size as as the iPhone as the iPhone 13, 14 and 15 in the Apple Store. A cheaper phone with the same screen size would eat into the sales of the more expensive models. I don't see why Apple would let that happen. Make the cheaper iPhone SE4 smaller, with a smaller battery. That makes more sense to me.

I guess I’m not getting Apple as of late…I mean each model having 4 options…but with 2 different sizes…and now you yet have another one that is the ‘same’ sizes as the other ones…?? I honestly liked the 11 pro with the 5.8 inch…that seemed to be the sweet spot…but I recently purchased a refurbished 13 mini after having the original SE because I like sizes of both phones…but…all this is confusing

I hope it doesn’t have an oled screen, I got the SE 2022 because the 14 Pro Max was straining my eyes. I could barely stand to look at it sometimes. I think Apple should at least offer one LCD screen, literally every other model has oled if that’s what someone wants.

Here's the important question, will it have a sim card tray ? I am planning to buy this as my secondary phone which is the one that i want to receive calls on And also idk how to use e-sim If it doesn't have it, i will buy it anyway as my first and possibly last Apple product i will ever own Also i want all of these renders separately My opinion ? well... 1. The inclusion of the action button really depends on the release date, if it was 2025 yeah sure... but if it was 2024, no, just no 2. The newer design makes more sense considering the fact that Apple is marketing the iPhone SE as their low-end model (basically iPhone 1x Minus or iPhone 1x Lite) and by comparing the current models, it's literally comparing an iPhone 16 Pro with an iPhone 7 3. a custom 5G modem...yeah idk man, I am pretty sure the iPhone SE 4 will have a lot of networking problems just because of this (I mean it happens every time with Apple, they used USB-C, overheating issues, they used a notch, a lot of controversy, they made a maps app, it is so bad...) so let's hope it will be tested in a prototype instead 4. It will be the best modern iPhone Apple has ever made, it's a most buy for me
