I gave my 8 plus to my mom a few years ago and she loves it. Getting close to needing a new battery but she rather a new battery then switch over phones. The A11 has aged very well, a very powerful chip.

still have my 8+ since oct 2018 & its still as powerful & capable as it is...best phone size if you're not a fan of smaller size...just can't let go the telephoto lens since the regular 11-13 series have ultrawide lens...

Love this phone have the XS Max but I always come back to this and the finger print sensor is needed in the times we’re living in now. Apple needs to get rid of the notch and put a finger print sensor too

You mean like the under-display fingerprint sensor instead of the home button sensor right?

Just ordered a new one for a good deal recently, and waiting for its arrival. I used iPhone 4 from 2010-2016, then in 2016 I tried out Xiaomi Mi 5, and now I am choosing to go back to iOS and the main reason why I chose 8 Plus is because I simply CANNOT get used to the idea of phones not having home button anymore. I hope by the time iPhone 8 Plus becomes too obsolete (I'll probably still use it even when OS updates for it stop as long as the apps keep working), there will be some nostalgia for home buttons and we can see at least some models with it.

If size doesn’t matter an iphone se 2020 new one has home button with newer processors And this year they might refresh it with new processors Which means home button iphones are not dieing anytime soon

@@thenessh2807 I indeed went with 8 Plus because SE 2020 and SE 2022 are said to be the size of regular iPhone 8. I like big phones.

@@Aasir_Playz I ordered one from the seller with a lot of positive feedback on eBay who claims that it is a brand new sealed version that is "overstocked" - meaning that it was simply never sold during the time before Apple discontinued and since he is most likely the store owner, he decided to put the overstocked units on sale. I am aware that there are scammers online that claim to be selling new iPhones while they are actually repacking them and often swapping original parts inside, but I decided to take the risk since I have PayPal money-back guarantee if I am scammed. When I receive the phone next week, I will check out if it is truly brand new or if the parts have been swapped and I'll let you know.

I love the home button because it’s almost like a statement about not updating phones every year or two like I use to in the past. I like the fact that it ages the phone lol I must admit - I’ve had a few iPhones over the years and this has been my favourite. I toyed with the idea of updating a couple years ago but the new phones just get so expensive. I plan on keeping it as long as possible. My battery is fine for how much I use my phone and it’s still for the most part very responsive and quick enough. I know side by side with the latest iPhone it would not hold up but these days I’m happy enough not to be paying off an expensive phone.

I still have am using it to this day, although things like the battery are in need of replacement. And random things like the microphone for calls just breaking? It half works and is very quiet. But it’s very capable!

Ive had mine since mid 2017 i think and i still have it and love it. im wanting a 12 max pro though.

I’ve had mine for almost 2 years now, it’s brilliant,no problems whatsoever..and I intend to keep it until it’s close to death

So glad I came across this review. The iPhone 8 Plus is actually my very first iPhone. I was stuck in the Android world with the Notes for quite awhile. Picked the 8+ because I can’t live without a home button 😂 …but I recently I got an iPhone SE (2nd generation) because I read the 8 plus would stop updating April 2022. Not sure how true it is, but I’ll be using it until it stops updating. This phone has been extremely good to me. Besides, the SE will be smaller which I’m not happy about but it was free soooo, I grabbed it, for just in case purposes 🤷🏽‍♀️😅

I’m using an 8 Plus and I can say that it’s still a good phone. I was considering to upgrade because of Night Mode but there’s NeuralCam. Besides, I’m gonna have a hard time adjusting to Face ID & gesture-based navigation.

After using an iPhone 13 for awhile, honestly I’m jealous of my girlfriend’s iPhone 8+. I still prefer the home button; touchID, and a 16:9 screen with no notch. Night mode isn’t much better than NeuralCam anyways.

I have the 8 plus red as a backup phone and the 13 pro. The processor is starting to show its age on the 8 plus, but as a backup for texts, Facebook and phone calls, it’s a capable device. I’ve gotten spoiled by the 120hz on my 13 pro though.

I’m unsung an 8 Plus and it’s a perfectly good phone. Does everything I need it to do, so I’m happy with it.

Dude I've missed my 8+ every day since I upgraded. I had it from 2018 to late 2020, then traded it in for a 12 pro max. Used it for 5 months till I couldn't deal with the size & weight anymore, then gave it to my teen and got a 12 pro. Then this year I traded that in for a 13 pro b/c macro lens. The macro shots ARE pretty amazing, but honestly the only time I ever take them is to gawk at the novelty of it. I'm not wild about gesture navigation, I prefer a home button, but it's okay I guess. I hate face ID though, like HATE IT with a passion. I hated it as soon as I got the 12pm but I tried to get used to it... if anything I hate it more now. When it works it's fine, but all the many _many_ times it doesn't work make me not even want to use my phone. I've reset it several times and added an alternate appearance, turned off require attention, tried all the tricks but it still fails for the silliest reasons. I have to enter my code whenever I put on makeup FFS. Every time I move my phone the screen comes on & tries to find me, and if that happens 5 times in a row it needs my code the next time I do want to unlock it. I'd say I enter my code at least 5-10 times a day, and that's just sitting at home with no masks or sunglasses. Ridiculous. And it's slower than touch ID. How is this an upgrade again? Apple finally restocked the refurb 256gb 8 pluses so I ordered one. Arrives tuesday, can't wait! I can finally admit that I only upgraded to have something new & shiny and I'm honestly really mad at myself. I spent all this money only to go back to my old phone. Don't be like me, keep your old phone!!! Fingers crossed for an SE+ with touch ID & updated specs before the 8+ stops getting updates 🤞🏼

I have an 8 plus currently too. My mom is giving me her iPhone 12 Pro Max when she gets her new phone in November. The downside though, is that I pay an inheritance fee of $200 because she saw that she could have traded it in, but it is still a lucky occasion to have.

Apple must relaunch this design with oled if possible or just redo it like se plus I love this design still

They should relaunch it with IPS. OLED has burn in issues. Also, 10% of the population cannot use OLED screens because they get headaches from its PWM.

Still using my iPhone 8 Plus along with my iPhone XS. I keep a power bank with me or two at all times. Battery does suck on this phone but I still like them. I was gonna get the 14 but decided to wait another year. Hopefully they’ll change the design a bit but if not oh well. I’ll be getting the 15👍🏼

I'm going to upgrade to 8 plus sooner, so excited!! And hoping would upgrade it after 2 or 2.5 years.

Loved my 8+ recently just updated to the 13 pro, but one thing i’ll say is my battery life on my 8 was shot.

I have iphone8plus and iphone7plus and iphonex and still kicking super smooth

This is still the iPhone with the highest resolution of LCD screen. If you don't like the OLED screens the iPhones use (because they cause you headaches like they do for me), then this phone still can't be beat!

Ha! I’m currently using an iPhone 6S+ in 2022 running iOS 15.3.1 and it’s totally fine! Crazy how well these iPhones age; they’re like the Lexus of the phone world.

My 8 plus still looks new and going strong iOS 15.4.1 runs beautiful on it, 93% battery health, lasts me all day, still snappy. I have the 11 pro max but darn thing is like a heavy brick in the hand and pocket. My 8 plus is very relevant in 2022, but yours, have a new battery installed if needed. Best phone I've had. Touch ID so much easier!

watching this on my i8 plus 256gb this phone has been in water ditch dirt continuous rain accidentally dropped a lot of times with cover and screen guard and this phone has not shown a single error i still game on this phone at 60fps it’s important to change battery after a few years there is not a single lag on this iphone till now i just can’t believe it and phone itself is so practical and easy to carry around people still get surprised to look at this iphone and the iconic home button ended with after iphone8 plus with introduction of 3D touch which is just incredible once you get hang of it not changing this phone for next 3 years i guess best buy ever

I love it too…and the form factor in my opinion is much better than the rectangular design language

I will say I switched from the galaxy s21 ultra to the 8plus and this is a much better experience so far I will miss fast charging but still this is a very nice phone

Guys i need ur opinion i had a iphone se 2 then it died I couldn’t get a new one due to it being under a carrier contract so im using my grandfathers iphone 6s without touch id as i fixed the display myself along with touch id n i replaced the battery Im thinking for buying a used iphone 8 plus as its cheap n it could last me years n less of a heartbreak then a brand new one dieing n having to still pay full price

Camera of this device is awesome

As someone who Chose to downgrade to an 8 Plus from an 11 because I wanted to make a few $ and still have a premium device - It's a great phone with a solid display..but the processor is a bit too dated for the new Apps now and it has shown.. the battery life is decent but not great. Would stick with an 11 or newer to be safe with speed and battery life. I now have an 11 Pro and definitely enjoy it more than the 8+

Aw really, I have had a red iPhone 11 for one year now and let me tell you I HATE IT, I’ve hated it since the day I got it as a gift, it’s too chunky and heavy for me plus, I just can’t get used to it, I hate the camera and everything about it, I miss my old IPhone 8 so much I am so tempted to get rid of the 11 and buy a white 8plus I really want to 🙈

@@MichaelKFilms haha I got rid of the 11 cause I had the XR prior and they’re basically the same phone so I wanted a wider one and got the 8 plus. Now I’ve got the 11 pro and the size is more comfortable and not as chunky as the 11.

That’s what I love about Apple they support their devices so long the value is unbeatable. A device like the 8 plus despite being almost 4 years old will still get 2 more years of support. People make a huge deal out of the bezels but it’s classic iPhone design so there’s some nostalgia. Even with slightly lesser performance you get essentially a very similar experience on iOS. I never had an iPhone 8 Plus but I’m surprised battery life isn’t that great.

I’ve had my 8 plus since launch. I’m one of the 10% who can’t use OLED due to PWM and I much prefer the superb 16:9 NOTCHLESS screen, so have no plan to upgrade any time soon. Please bring out an SE Plus based on this phone!

They have the same performance, 8plus just has a homebutton, which is better than X in my opinion

I am keeping my 8 plus for as long as I can. iOS 16 will support this. Apps right now only require iOS 14. This phone can still download new apps for another two years. Maybe iOS 17 will also support this
