I started microsoldering with a $100 USB microscope and a $80 2in1 rework station. The first repair I ever attempted was the iPhone 7 audio ic and got it first go with no sweat. I have done over 20 of them now first attempt with out a hiccup until the other day I was telling my buddy how much of a legend I was and the chip flipped up....After a second reball and reflow she was all good. I have always used Marks gravity drop method and it is hard to fuck up. 2years later I am geared up with hakko, quick, amscope, ect and own every piece of gear anyone could ever want; I predominantly work on MacBooks now and make a very lucrative living from this art. A lot of my success can be attributed to you Jason, and Louis, Jessa, Mark, Paul, and Paul D. Thanks heaps guys and long live the champions!

@@Swenser Get a good microscope that will make all the difference.
Thanks for sharing an attempted fix and final fix on the phone. I am a retired AT&T special circuit tech and highly appreciate your videos. I see there is so much more to add to my learning of miniaturized circuit board repair. I guarantee that our learning curve is different, but I see the challenges and will keep you, Paul Carlson ( Mr. Carlsons Lab ) and Louis Rossman on my list of mentors. Let's keep learning FUN ! J K
13:14 “Let me just do my job and not talk today” 1 second later: “ok I see flux starting to bubble”
Nah, you're the first one to open it, the amount of times i got loose batteries and loose and rarely missing screws from unopened iPhones is surprising and frequent. Great video
I am glad you didn't end the video. I Love watching your videos. You are the best at explaining what you are doing. I've watched others that never explain what they are doing and what they have done. Thumbs up.
I'm about 15 minutes in to the video, and planning on watching the rest. Just wanted to say thanks for uploading this. Really interesting to watch these kinds of videos and learn some troubleshooting techniques for diagnosing my own hardware problems. In the case of recent iPhone models, I've now learned to leave it to people with better tools and more patience than I have. Will definitely keep you in mind should I ever have a phone die. Truly appreciate your sharing.

Finished the video. Really impressed with your work on this. Thanks again for sharing. I definitely won't try this at home...
I love how you show the entire repair process!💯 this is awesome.
Great job, what I really love about you Jason is your attention to detail (the shield), I'm picky too but it DOES make a difference :-) Keep 'em coming.....
Thank you for making these videos. I love your content. Skilled and funny is a good combo. Keep em coming. 👍🏼
Thank you jason, don’t be angry cause it came back, it’s so normal though it’s seriously annoying, keep up sir !
merry belated xmas to you and family and keep up the repairs i have learnt so much from you , thank you.
You're definitely right about the finesse for removing the audio ic. I haven't developed the flip technique, it's on my list. Currently I prefer moving the chip laterally first to confirm all pads are wetting temp before pulling up. The amount of heat required feels like it's almost twice as much as the Meson was for the 6/6+. I'm amazed at how well this board eats heat.
Congratulations on reaching 100,000. Really awesome!

Love the video and total take apart and reassemble! All in 1 vid awesome!
The way you film makes me want to watch this video even tho i care nothing for all the technical stuff. I found this video quite therapeutic. Strange but nice !
Hi, thank you for the videos. All the way from Colombia. 💪
the man good work! i could never do this but like watching your work keep on keeping on bro t
Very informative video. Keep up the good work. Jason’s old, new all videos can be watched like watching a movie. Very interesting.
LOL, I know that phone! That's my daughters iPhone7, thus the rose color. She's in ROTA Spain right now and sent it to me to get it fixed. I had quit a few folks to choose from, but I'm hooked on watching Jason's vids!!! Kudos Jason for not making me look like a noob by not trying to re-install the ipsw and update (5:53)!! No worries about the return; crap happens. You and Angie have a crazy fast turn over time. I appreciate your work and videos!! DnAustin

I've never seen anyone do this, wow that was amazing skill man!
Thank you so much for showing the inside of the iPhone 7 I have one and was always curious about how many pieces of chips are in there very confusing to a 85 Yr old Luddite I use a I pad pro for my artwork now where i used to use brushes and oil paint billboards years ago and I painted the hot air balloon‘s with dyes this is completely different amazing technology thank you thank you you did a wonderful job in explaining what you’re doing amazing 👍
This is an amazing job! And im glad that your hands doesnt shakeing when you soldering this tiny wire, wow
Great job sir!..Enjoyed the trouble shooting repair tutorial 👍🏽!
we really love your videos and way of teaching
Great video man you're a good teacher :)
It is so satisfying to see the solder paste melt using the stencil!
Nice repair, I learned something new :) Thanks!
Well Done, great repair and results. 😊👍👍👍
Thanks for this video it helped me understand better wth is going on with my phone. In the middle of watching a video my screen went black then stuck on apple logo loop. I just requested a job ID hopefully it's easier than this one.
Thanks for sharing, sorry some shops are causing you grief. I think your videos easily end up in far more successful repairs than hack jobs, you explain and illustrate things very clearly.
Thanx for the info keep up the good work awesome ☺️☺️
I see you enjoy the new power supply unit! Very good. I like it
how do i give 100 likes? This guy is amazing. what he does runs away from the curve. mt knowledge and technique. congratulations.
Hey im from the caribbean ...nice work.....you makin me feel to get into ph repairs...lol
You got a million views on this video. The only surprising fact about that is that you don’t get a million views on most of your videos. For someone like myself, who knows nowt, they are always educational, easy to follow and have a logical flow.
i just like this man and his teaching , thanks a lot
Very good help thanks I was thinking of reflow it but might have to reball it lol.
Another excellent Video !
nicely done, Thank you for sharing
Nice job man bravo, thats awesome.
thank you so much, i've lern something new
really u got a great setup to work i need like those, its great to work
I've watched a half dozen of this guys videos and I came away with one thing: I am never sending my phone to him.
Great effort, may God bless you
Wow, very impressive video. Learned a lot. Things I had not seen or heard before. The reason I watched the video is that I have an iPhone 4 that does not boot beyond the Apple logo. Cannot fix with iTunes. Suspect something is broken.
Nice video! Have a similar A1784 phone (iphone 7P) in the same boat. Will review the process to fix the same ball. Any reason why you did not just attempt to reheat the IC from top side rather than remove the entire BGA and then reball to fix? Perhaps missed it but this is not the tristar IC - correct? We have some of those incoming, just in case
What did you use to connect the phone to your PC? 3utools?
Hey man, thanks for what you do. I had my iPhone repaired last year by you and has been working amazingly great! It was a different issue than this one. Unfortunately, I ran into this issue as well. I was transferring my data and I left my phone unattended and I saw the black screen with the white apple logo on it (so similar to this except for what the screen looked like) I will more than likely be sending it back to you because I want keep my data intact... I do not want to lose it. Now, quick question: did it take you to the welcome screen because the phone was already reset or will the repair reset the phone and make you lose all data?
Any reading material on training for these sort of repairs? E.g reballing, training on using equipment necessary for repairs, and things like how to get schematics for things like apple products?
Dude. Thank you for the info. I went to AT&T, two IPhone gadgets places to fix and all 3 unsuccessful… worked on 1st attempt after watching your video
I love you, I like your attitude very clever

Great repair video. New sub here

Very good looking Repairing Room and good machinery's and devises
Its the front camera for quick fix. If this happens open phone and disconnect phone camera attached to screen and it will power up no probs.
Nice work
I start now into repair phones and your videos are very helpfull
Hey man nice video, I have an iphone 7 that was in really bad condition so much as for the screen and housing but worked without any problems . I changed screen and housing and now it bootloops..the strange part is that it only bootloops when the charging Flex is connected..If i disconnect it powers on without any problems...Any ideas or suggestion?
thanks for the video i was wandering if u have ever come to fix the no sim or sim failer problem in the i phone 7 of u u have any i dea what the reasion is would be greatfull for any information or video !
Where do you get the power supply adapter for the logic board?
Which brand of screwdrivers are you using?
nice x9d in the background! :) what you fly?
Great technique to reball the chip. So you just float the soldering iron over the solder balls. Is that the technique?
awesome work!

Hi STS, do you take students for training? I’ve always love to be one.
Hello. to fix pin C12 audio and do not need to remove it, you can insert a wire. the thread is inserted through the side of the audio chip by removing the bumpers (only the nand side) and r3201. this variant is tested and running, it raises the risk of disturbing the baseband

Thank u. It's my first real controller since my old 72mhz Futaba! I love this thing.
i pulled this off first time did one today ,have one for tomorrow , you are so funny :D and dont be so positive about repairs i dont want you disappointed if you look at 35:29 you could clearly see a fault in BB area it started with searching without a sim card I immediately thought overheated BBCPU (im that negative) , cuz i thought (i dont really see nozzle pointing at ) you heated a wrong spot (i like to heat close to nand cuz the metal shield that goes around holds a lot of heat) glad it turned out to be a bbpmic ,thumbs up
Good job. Although you didn't insulate the wire jumper. Which could easily have come loose when you refitted the audio IC.
@OnYourSquare

There's no need. The wire, the trace and that leg of the IC, all solidify together. The only real danger of bridging is while the chip is being heated.
Great job
nice video would work if i was older and had the damn tools
How do you test the bb pmic, to know it is at fault for sure? It looked intermittent to me.
I watched another one of your videos last night the physical appearance of not just yourself but your "office/shop/work space" is also different. I dunno its like you might be a bachelor (or at least not married) in this video but the other one you are definitely in a relationship. I shoulda checked the date before commenting but I didn't. Anyways your desk and shelf are still the same except for what's on tour shelf the walls are white and I didn't see the big ass monitor lol just interesting is all but the both of your videos haven't been boring which lets face it unless you already know all or most of the technical terms and soldering equipment and materials it is almost a waste of time to watch but your videos always keep me watching without boring me which is awesome 👍👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Good job 👍
Which mobilephone do u use @STS Telecom ?
nice work
My friend, is it possible for you to explain or provide me with the dimensions of your work table and the method of installing the microscope?
hi how are you apologize what is the name of the microscope you use. thank you very much from ecuador.
Hi, Is this sympthom familiar? iPhone 7 boot loops, but if I disconnect the front camera flex, it starts, but touch-id and home button doesn't work. But, if I reconnect the front camera AND disconnect the home button, the phone starts too.. I just can't have both parts connected at the same time. I've tried new screen and new front camera flex. Motherboard issue? In that case, which chip? One of those in your video? Btw. ear-speaker works, but not front camera, prox or light sensor.
What sort of micro tools do you use!
Nice video
hi- Enjoy the way you talk and explain. You are so easy to listen to. Glad I found your videos. I am having the worst time with a hand me down iPhone 7 from my brother. I have tried everything- Programs that I have downloaded and trying to put it in recovery mode and so on. The phone is stuck on the logo and that is it. At times I will have charged it the whole night only to take it off the charger and it will not last long. Based on that is this phone fixable? Or should I forget about it and just buy a new one. He had said that it was frozen because he took so many photos of his son that it jammed the phone. Help- I trust your advice. Thank you in advance for any any of your words of wisdom- K

Not sure if you’re still dealing with this issue anymore but although it definitely is fixable, I wouldn’t say it’s worth it. It could very well be a lot cheaper to get a newer iPhone (doesn’t have to be the newest or even brand new) but you’d get a much better deal that way. In terms of your iPhone 7 I’d say put it up on eBay explaining your issue and if nobody’s interested just get the trade in value and use it towards a newer phone with your carrier or sell it for parts through one of those recycling services. Goodluck!!
Excellent!
one of the best tech
nice tutorial
thank you techer
where did you buy your desk from to hold your micoscrope in place. i been looking for one like that. love your videos.

I bought it from a local insurance agency that used it as a customer checkout counter. I just got lucky that the top-deck was the right height for the microscope post to go through. I drilled a big hole and then mounted the base directly to the bench top. I didn’t plan to do that when I got the bench. It just happened to work after I struggled finding a good spot for the heavy, factory base that came with the microscope stand.
how did you know that IC has problem? your work like magic . brother explain
Your videos are so great!!
Hi i Love your videos Ihave a question on iPhone 7 plus. Do capacitors C3201 C3202 C3203 C3204 Have the Same Specs/value?? By desoldering audio ic with hot Air they blew away and im Not Sure wich one is Capacitor 3201; 2; 3; ir number 4 Help would be very apreciated
