I’m in the same boat with the 13pm, but I actually considered updating because I really liked the Dynamic Island. But I decided to stay disciplined and not pay for unnecessary upgrades. Unless there’s a groundbreaking update, I might stick with the 13pm for several generations. The battery life, camera quality, and speed are more than good enough for me.

Apple would never do a punch-hole like android. They love to differentiate their products than the competition even if it means they need to bring some obnoxious design. Just look at the macbooks. They didn’t need to have a notch. They don’t even have face ID. Apple did that to separate their laptops from the rest. Same is with their iphones. Apple loves to use iconic designs which can be used as flat silhouette and still be recognisable. The dynamic island serves that purpose. If they did a hole in the center, they would lose their recognisable feature in silhouettes

Maybe the button just to replace the current action button? Because the action button is so high up I think some people find it inconvenient and hard to reach, so moving it somewhere that can be easily pressed when holding your phone with one hand makes sense.

Exactly!!! Some people get a new iPhone every year, but when you truly respect the phone these new iPhones can give you a great 2-3 years depending on the person! So to upgrade from more than 3 phones ago will always be worth it and more exciting versus every year

Based on the render shown, the new (added) button will be positioned to be just under the user's right index finger when the phone is held in the horizontal position echoing where shutter release buttons have been for ages on dslrs and mirrorless cameras. So it will make it much easier to initiate shooting video, not to mention video for the coming Vision Pro device.

They will absolutely be OS integration as well. I imagine the act of simply holding your phone sideways and pressing the Capture button will begin a video capture instantaneously. I also imagine you’ll be able to map functions to it like the Action button.

I have got a question with the haptic solid state buttons. How would you turn on the device when it’s powered off because only the iPhone SE and the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 8 when you turn off the device it powers off the tactic engine I’m thinking how would Apple make it so you can still turn on your device Where the engines are powered off, I don’t think that is a good design for Apple to do for blind people or people who have no vision or disabilities. I just find that as a very silly design but Apple are going to go with this year and years to come so they can find a way to turn on the device when it’s powered off I would happily buy the iPhone 6 pro Max. If not I’m getting an android

If the 16 legit has great upgrades and new tech I’m upgrading from my 13 pro max. But if the same thing again I’ll wait again another year. But it seems like it will be worth it. Even more so with IOS 18 coupled with it.

I downsized from the128GB 13 Pro MAX to the 15Pro 256GB loves the size and weight fits better in my hands and pockets and no drops like I did with the 13 pro max

My issue with the motionless buttons is there being an issue with the device, warranting a force reboot, and not being able to use the buttons if the phone doesn’t respond.

I have the iPhone 13 mini and can't wait to get the iPhone 16. Mostly because the batteries are awful on this little device. When travelling I can't rely on it..

Capture button for vision pro. If you think about it, the button is in the same location as a traditional camera

why do they need to move the camera for spacial video? Are they just wanting to have the cameras be the same layout as the human eye? Also will the camera differences result in weird video because one eye will see the wide image and the other eye will see the ultrawide image?

That new capture button was actually an optional accessory included with the battery case for the iphone 11 series lol

Capture button need to be in that position because of the lenses position on the left side. I prefer notch than a dot, honestly. And big screen will eventually give trigger finger problems without the affected people realizing it

I'm so glad I bought the SE while it's still available, not just for comfortable one handed use but also TouchID which lets me have the phone unlock as I take it out of my pocket so that it's ready for use by the time my eyes see the screen 👍

The only comment I have is at 0:56 - Ross Young, who is the most accurate analyst when it comes to display-related leaks, has iterated time & again that the Dynamic Island's current pill-shaped hole will be shrunk to a hole-punch only in the iPhone 17 Pro lineup in 2025, and NOT in iPhone 16 Pro in 2024, so I think we're being too optimistic to expect it this year.

I wish they would ad 48MP to the telephoto lens so you can pixel bin for 10x and still have 5x

Funny, you should mention the Bussin being solid state. How would you turn the device on when it’s powered off completely that’s what I’m worried about for people with disabilities or who have no vision that could be a downfall of the new device. How could you turn the device on when the device is powered off, completely with tactic engines in the phone, please let me know because I use VoiceOver on my phone and when I turn my phone on it lets me know with the sound and it says screen curtain on. How would you turn on the device with buttons that don’t do anything or are with tactic engines in that’s what I really want to know how would you turn the device on when it’s powered off

Interesting! That’s exciting! Apples trying to innovate the best they can. I do not upgrade every year. I usually do it two or three years out. My next Apple product purchase will be a new iPad Pro when the next model is announced.

I’ve given up on expecting improvements on battery life now. iPhone 15 pro max was meant to have a great battery due to the new 3nm chips. I honestly can’t say I’ve seen any improvement on the 1 day battery life they’ve quoted since iPhone 13.

The 15 pro max only has around 30 minutes extra over the 14 pro max, there is very little difference

But on the button thing wouldn’t that be worse because what if you drop your phone wrong and it hits the button and it stop working. Like would it be like a little piece of glass like the home button

The pin hole camera thing won’t happen I’d say. It would look like Apple are copying Android. I’d say even if they can do FaceID under screen they’ll stay with dynamic island for another year and then go full under display with new camera tech in 2025/26. If they did go the route Sam is suggesting the camera hole would surely be smaller than in the render. I also think the vertically aligned cameras particularly the 10/10S style one on a secondary square bulge looks very wrong for Apple and most likely they won’t do the Vision Pro realignment anyway because the VP customers at $3500 will be generally sporting Pro iPhones anyway!

I wouldn't say pin hole is an Android only thing, it's a design not a feature, if that was the case then most Android phones that came out in recent years or coming out, copied iPhone's boxy shape. There are so many phones released that phone manufacturers are bound to copy designs from other phones.

@@superiortoall22 I don’t know Apple are very funny about that sort of thing and firstly don’t even acknowledge the existence of specific competitors and also like to put their own spin on things. Maybe they’ll do it with a twist, like the animation appearing as a concentric circle around the pin hole camera enlarging and then spreading out width wise into a lozenge shape to retain the dynamic island feature… but I doubt it!

How would a haptic power button work? Haptic buttons door do anything when the decide is off since there is no actual depression of the button.

Capture button is definitely for spatial video as a tie-in, for sure, 1 trillion percent :)

Would be cool if that new button would work as a finger print sensor.

I got the 15 pro. Upgraded from a 13 pro max, but this seems like a downgrade. Biggest complaint is the poor battery life. It took a big hit, not as bad as I thought. I would do anything for better battery life. If the 16 pro has at least 2+ more hours of battery life, I'll get it.

I said I was gonna get the 15 and even the 14 prior to that but at this point I’m more interested in getting the 16 lineup in which I’ll have no choice considering my software is out of date and for some of the apps. I’ll say I got my moneys worth and savings using my current phone that I’ve been using for about 9 years. Thankfully for me I don’t get all caught up in the hype to be sold for every new phone that drops. I just want something that works and is fairly current. Things have gotten so high that you have to put your priorities of what’s most important to what you can live without or at least hold off.

The fact your taking about Apple leaks in the Apple building is crazy

They will need to make a VR/3D/AI camera on the iPhone 16/pro to go with the new universe of products. At least it would be nice if you could explore the scenes captured by the camera as if you were physically there. Maybe eventually they will use light fields to capture all the focal lengths in one lens/module. And use the AI to develop it into photo or video frames or VR/3d/AI/declarative scenes.

no , they won't add new button ... they just added the action button and apple known for have at least 2 year cycle before changing it again and they most likely will be trying new features on other devices before they will put it on the iPhone ... and the battery will be staying the same since the battery life already pretty impressive and the 3nm chip isn't even at is best efficiency since they still tweeting the software to take advantage of it if they will increase the iPhone in size it will be to fit the new camera architect to the pro and make the pro max better

I’m actually considering holding off on the 15 Pro Max and getting the 16 Pro Max when it comes out. I sure do hope the 16 Pro will have a hole-punch Dynamic Island instead of a pill-shaped one, a massively brighter display (3,000-4,500 nits and maybe even 144hz), an ENORMOUS performance increase with A18 Pro, and the largest camera sensor ever in an iPhone at 1 inch. (Also a 48 MP ultra wide and telephoto.) Yes that’s a LOT. But darn would it make a great super cycle. And I’d buy one for me and everyone else in my family so they’d certainly make some money 😂

I still have my iPhone 8 Plus currently it finally is slowing down and I have a crack on the front but you don’t really notice and I’d keep it otherwise. It’s been great.
