I am still blown away that people can't see the difference but this is in NO WAY to say this is a reason to upgrade cameras. I just wanted to test to see if Apple's claims were true. This is solely to help you with making a buying decision just like all my camera comparison videos. This one seems to be catching alot of negative comments so I wanted to address it. This is a case of people seeing what they want to see. The lense flare issue is still there of course. I was being told light flare was better on the IPhone 15 in this video when my eyes were disagreeing. Just as Samsung will always have shutter speed issues, IPhones will have lense flare problems.

I'm grateful that smartphone cameras have come so far from what they used to be years ago some smartphone cameras can kind of hold up if not hold up to some expensive cameras on the market

I appreciate you doing this comparison. As someone making content through smartphones sometimes, glares are a big no no for me. Quite misleading of Apple to claim that they have a coating on lenses when the green orbs are still there ! On the other hand S23 Ultra has much reduced glare

Honestly don’t think it’s a reason to upgrade. You can buy AR coating and lay it on the glass with a qtip, without mentioning how most photographers will find a way to make flaring look purposeful.

To answer your last question: it's definitely worse than expected (or hoped), but it is cearly better than it was. But not everywhere either: e.g the rainbow rings in the video 1:27 are more disturbing than before imo.

Thx for the comparison. This shows you're one of the few YTubers who cares. On the other hand, this couldn't be solved in software as it is physics/optics. Besides no real photographer usually shoot directly into the sun but tries to paint with light. The only exception may be night shots where lens flare of lanterns etc. matter.

at 3:12 I saw better highlights performance but just in that one. Perhaps apple tried to fix burned highlights... Apple tried but is not enough. We need more and more tests...

Try video test on rollecoaster in haunted mansion(in USA is called different), i try in Paris on Samsung on exynos, and is worst.... Very interesting how iphone will shoot!

I think every year the lens flare keeps getting better. I definitely think it gets less noticeable on the 15 Pro Max

Let’s end this now. ALL lenses can be subject to VARIOUS types of lense flares / ‘artifacts’...including on expensive full frame cameras, Zeiss lenses, Leica lenses etc, it’s not unique to an iPhone. It is the nature of any lens (and light). Some photographers / videographers even find certain types of flare desirable, for creativity purposes.

There’s a huge difference in price between iPhone 15 and 15 pro max. That should be enough to indicate the latters’ camera quality is way superior than the formers’.

This could’ve been a software update to fix the 14ProMax but Apple being Apple…you get what you pay on day 1. Samsung on the other hand actively improves their s23U thru updates after release

@@Versiongurl Yup, I switched to Samsung from Apple, tired of the BS Gatekeeping Apple practise, they used the newer chip excuse, now the 15 has the same chip as the 14 pro, yet the 14pro is unable to receive the camera updates....they really let their Pro customers down....

To be honest no improvement on video from 14, the only new features pro res 60fps 4k and you cant use without external harddrive and i ve 15 promax 1tb, very stupid.

The flares improved in most cases only a bit. In some of your examples decently. And in some pretty much not at all. So yeah it's definitely nice and good that they improved. But this is one of the first times I have to kind of disagree on your commentary cause you make it really sound like it's such a big step but I (and apparently many others) don't see such an big improvement. Anyhow, still cool you made this video and kept it short. Appreciate your work !

Bro very sorry I receive My mobile phone yesterday the iPhone 15 pro max and I'm also a technology sensitive person as well and also running a KZread channel too so from My experience except 5x zoom. There's no difference in iPhone 15 pro max camera from last iPhone 14 pro max camera and yeah little bit software wise function are new to iPhone 15 pro max other then that there's no big change nothing same camera's from last year like Samsung Galaxy did with there z fold 5 so except 5x telephoto in pro max there's no other different in camera that's All.

It's so much better now. Impossible not to notice. By the way, it seems quite a bit better than s23 ultra as well, as the footage and photos don't have that veil of light across the image which smoothens details and reduces contrast. Nice upgrade.

Pay $1000-1500 for this is unacceptable.

As someone who mainly uses my smartphone camera for nature photography, I'm having a difficult time switching from Galaxy to iPhone.

Super expensive smartphones and they still cant afford zeiss lenses.

Danny, why that obession with flares? Sometimes flares are part of the feeling of an image, that's why one of the best lens creator Voigtlander has some lenses that people tell them as "flare masters"

I still don’t understand why people take photos and video into the midday sun. Use the sun to illuminate your footage or image, not as the centre of your image.
