Would love to see more quality step by step tutorials on using the 15 promax camera in different situations. Especially the macro feature and the zoom functions. Having the ability to do both and get good quality outcomes is pretty magical but I need more information. There’s not a lot that I can find that. it’s good quality content like this. Thank you.

Thank you for accurate explanation on HEIF MAX. It’s been difficult for me to take many KZreadrs who say HEIF as new format available from iPhone 15 seriously. I’d love to see more videos of using iPhone cameras for photography!

People are barely noticing that iPhone has been taking HEIF photos for many years now. So people are thinking that HEIF is new now that Apple said "HEEEF" during their keynote this year

I was torn between getting the iPhone 15, or iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone 15 Pro Max. I ended up getting the Pro, and I think it was the perfect choice! A great balance of features that the Pro Max has and the base model! Love this phone!!

Great post! As always! simple to the point! question: on Tc 5:27 of your post, when you go to proress encoding, when we choose "Log" by default the Iphone doe not shoot in HDR correct? in other words Log is not compatible with HDR in the Iphone... 🤔 just making sure~! thank! cheers!

Great video, Jonathan!!!! I have one question. Yesterday, I was out in the woods and took some PHOTOS (not portrait mode) at 5X. There WERE NO animals, faces, whatever and yet, many of those were taken automatically in PORTRAIT MODE. Any explanation???? Thanks!

does the zoom work just as well with the video??

The automatic portrait mode recognition does seem to work for more than just faces, dogs and cats, although not specifically supported. It seems if the phone can lock focus on an object and recognise the depth, it will save that information for applying the effect after taking the photo even it it's not a face, dog or cat.

Hello, my default picture is not portrait, I noticed you had an option to select / change to portrait on. I don't see that in my pics. I do see in a pic that I took with portrait on a portrait off option. Is there a setting to toggle on for this? Thank you!

I don’t get how you did the normal photo into portrait photo. You had a f at the bottom if the phone in the edit mode and i have not. Please help. Very useful thank you

So if you take an image with the diffrent focal length do you still get the full 48 megapixel or does it go down to 12 or 24/26

It's not just ProRes Log that can record direcrly to external drives, ProRes SDR and HDR can also do so.

10X zoom looks pretty good! Would I need to change the camera setting to 48 MP to get the best quality or not?

Do you know how to remove the portrait blur in the photo mode? I already went into the camera settings and turned off “portraits in photo mode” but my photos/photo mode still dose the blur of the background for items fairly close.

What about for front cam. Its not that good or clear do you have any tip or tricks on this! Thanks

For people having issues getting the camera to recognize the Samsung USB-C flash drive, reformat the drive as Mac OS (Journaled) or exFAT and set the partition to Apple Partition Map.

Cool tips. Just be aware, the auto Portrait mode does work for most things, as long as you select the focus point manually by touching the screen.

⁠@@brendalaverde9171when turned off in foto Galerie it’s off. When your object is close to the camera there is a natural slight blur background with has nothing to do with the potraid mode.

I need a suggestion here. I'm thinkg to buy Max byt dangling on 3x zoom. As Pro have 3x lense but in pro max it is digital zoom.. how it will be differed? I've been checking formthis comparision and no mwhere found. Can you please clear my doubt? Thanks in advance.

If I use raw or heif, do I need to do any photo conversion to jpeg to share the photos with others or online?

Thanks for the info. One thing about the Samsung SSD - it will not fit in the usb-c slot of the iphone if you have a case, so I sent it back.

It depends on the case. It works fine for most of mine and I have an adapter for the others.

For low light need to use 12mp? For dayli photo 48mp better?

What’s the best mode for 15Pro Max when snapping shots of people? Seems like it’s picking up harsh features that can’t be seen with the naked eye.

Hey just got the new 15 pro max so when you try to take a selfie with front camera it looks good but once you take the photo and check it it looks pixelated bad quality

Is there a way to change white balance? All of my pics have a blue undertone and I hate it! I have to edit them just to bring warmth to the photos. I did a side by side pic with my galaxy s8 and the galaxy pic looked way better!

Apparently my iPhone15 pro max doesn’t use the 5x optical zoom but uses the main camera and digitally zooms the image to 5x. Any way to change it?

48 MP HEIF is not limited to 15 and 15 Pro. It's also available for 14 Pro with iOS 17.

Tks for the great tutorial. Currently, I'm on an android device and am thinking of getting the ip15 pro. However, I've noticed certain pictures taken with the 15 pro of human subjects tends to be darker than my android device. The white balance seems a little off at least, to me. Is there a particular way/settings that one could use to get brighter photos. Tks.

@@AlienwareGaming yes indeed, it's a good option to have just like any other flagship that offers capturing of raw. However, I think most users would prefer a point, shoot and share moment vs a point, shoot, edit and then share moment. ✌
