Excellent video. Now I have a canon t6 for family photos and videos, but I want to upgrade to a 4k, should I get an SL3 ? Would I be able to see the quality difference between 1080p and 4K ?

SL3 easily wins.

I will always go for proper camera mainly because of photography 📸.Footages from the dslr look much much real to life.

This video was 90% video, not what im looking for from a DSLR, i was hoping for photos as it is what a DSLR camera would ve used for.

Really interesting to see these comparisons. I'm honestly not all that impressed with the iphone 14 having seen it in person as well BUT the fact that it's also basically a mini computer that can do everything else a phone does still makes it hard not to recommend to people that don't need a "proper" camera. A colleague of mine at work does all our social media videos and photos from an iphone even though we have a bunch of camera she could use. Accessibility is always a big factor! Awesome vid as always Kai!

The both of these devices are my main drivers for all my video work. Social media stuff, real estate.

Love the SL3 - took it on my trip to Japan 2019 🇯🇵 - man it was incredible! The SL3 and Japan- really wanna go back 🙏🙏

@@KaiCreative I bought some great lenses for mine. Sigma 18-35 1.8 and Canon 70-200 2.8 L III. Amazing what this "beginner" body can do!! Dual pixel AF in live view gets amazing portrait shots using eye detect!

Fascinating. Smartphones are doing an amazing job thanks to their software. In order to have great shots, I think I'll stick with my Canon 250D. Combined with a 50mm 1.8, a black mist filter and some editing on lightroom I can create a portrait that could not be done with an Iphone I think. Same for a static setup for gaming video, I've set up my Canon 250D as a webcam, and it works like a charm. I have a blurred background, a lot of light is captured etc. However, for day to day pic, vlogging etc... Iphone (And some top Android smartphone like Google's Pixel) remains the best choice. It's really easy to get your phone out of your pocket and take a picture. Thanks for this comparison.

Why didn’t you use raw in the iPhone?

I haven't watch the video, but obviously the canon take better pictures than the iphone... because it's a canon camera with an APS-C sensor... even my 2008 Canon 450D can take better pictures than an iphone, I just need a better lens.

Phones are improving yearly as well camera too so phone will never beat camera 😎

Does the SL3 lose some Quality when Digital IS is ON ?

Yes, digital stabilisation crops the image, although I am not fully sure as I use physical stabilisation

Humans looks like real humans in sl3, on the other side the iphone stretches the humans makin them look really long and weird

What I especially find important how easy I can photograph my moving hamsters with the Canon 250D. I was capable with the iPhone 14 pro, but I haven't used a real camera for a while now.

Unless your useing zoom the iphone is miles better, if you think the SL3 is better then get one and the phone an your see...it's not, as i siad the SL3 is only good for the zoom and if it was me ide get a high end Camcorder for that

It's also about fun. To me, I use my smartphone in emergency. But, much prefer a real camera. Cute daughter.

Is vlogging and video are all people care these days?? Seems like Everyone is a youtuber

Canon is clearly better , quality of detail, colors, sensor size = sharpness , lens used and rendering . iPhone is a phone = worse photo and video . I have the camera and can objectively judge !
