Why do photographers buy a camera for $5000 if they can buy a phone for only $1400 that gives pictures with the same qualité of professional camera ????? The answer is that 90% of what a professional camera does and a professional photographer needs, the phone cannot do. Like a $100,000 sports car and a multi-million dollar Formula One car. Note, I am a professional photographer

DSLR photography requires post processing for better picture, iPhone pictures already have post processing. Phones are designed to shoot and upload, while a DSLR is not designed that way.
What makes this more impressive is that apple have had their hand forced with making pics slightly oversaturated and overall exposed, because the market dictates this. I very rarely use the default exposure and always drop it a bit manually.

@ESKATEUK
Жыл бұрын
@@zerocool2727 it doesn’t matter. Mega pixel count is one of 50 things that make a camera good. If only the mega pixels mattered, then the Samsung camera would be better than any DSLR camera currently on the market. When the truth is an old DSLR with 22mp like my 5D mkiii, would absolutely blow the Samsung camera out of the water, let alone a new camera like an eos r5 with 45mp. The 108mp is purely a gimmick, and the amount of megapixels actually visible is completely based on the quality of the lens used, so to get the full 45mp out of an eos r5, you’d need a good lens. With a cheap lens it may only get 30mp. The lens and sensor on the Samsung is so small and low quality in comparison to a DSLR, that you would be lucky to be getting a visible 15mp out of that “108mp” sensor. If you want to test this yourself, use an old DSLR camera, like a 70D with a decent lens, then compare it to the 108mp camera on the Samsung, zoom in on both comparable pictures and see how much better the image looks on the DSLR in comparison to the phone, even though the mega pixel count is technically lower. The iPhones 48mp raw picture is the best I have seen on a mobile device, and the closest I’ve seen to a DSLR camera.

HDR on the iPhone is really impressive. Everything post-processed instantly. Amazing for what you can get with the size of a phone that you have with you at all times! I don’t know about it being more natural. I guess it depends on what you’re looking for. It’s hard for me to say with these photos because I wasn’t there, but I know cameras in general tend to capture less light than my eyes, so I’m leaning towards the iPhone in these night mode comparisons

I have always been a fan of dslr cameras, and shooting with a low-end camera is more enjoyable for me than a high-quality mobile phone. But the interesting thing that I saw in this video was the very small difference and in some places the iPhone was better, such as the photography at night, which shows how effective the processing algorithms are and how much they have improved. In addition, I hope and think that the companies that produce professional cameras should also work on additional processing algorithms because, for example, in night photography, it is not important to have a large and high-quality lens or sensor, but the combination of several photos with complex algorithms that causes This is an amazing result.
@Ava-ph9vv

I do understand what you're saying about night processing. However, that's also part of the control you have with a real camera. I like that control. Unless I was shooting in some type of auto mode, any processing added by the camera would make the results unpredictable.
For me personally it was quite easy to spot the R6 because I'm using it myself. But for the general rule of thumb the Canon (or any DSLM) is just way more timid and gives you more options in post while the iPhone (or any smartphone that is) has lots of software features to guess the best picture for you (and actually does a good job with it). Most of the time the picture than is TOO saturated or has too much dynamic range and therefore loses contrast. Oh well. Both have their purposes. On a side note. You could get a superb dslm setup well within the price range of the iPhone. The 5k is mostly for the last 2% and some niche functionalities... Never forget that.
I got your files and file with the car what I kind of see respect a "standard" camera it is some distortion, not sure if it is wide angle and falling lines or if the lens has some distortion. I did open in Capture One. Thanks

As for sharpness on your R6 for sharpness out of camera picture, adjust your picture control settings.
It’s not all about megapixels… The more the sensor are big the best the pictures are. Best dynamic range, best low light performance and way better résolution on print :)
There are apps that give you more control for depth of field. I own one but haven’t used it. I might with this phone
You can get ND filters for your Iphone, did your Canon have one? If so that's not an entirely fair comparison. The staccato or sharp imagery you alude to as being the main drawback can be solved with lenses and filters that you can purchase for almost every Iphone model, from brands like Moment and Sandmarc for example.
Stupid question, how do you get a picture made, especially from a high end sale camera?
Did I miss it or you didn't mention the lens you're using on your Canon ??
All the images edited or nin edited?
Could you please take a comparison between these devices in a studio with artificial light?

As soon as I got outside during sunny days , I saw that the iPhone was able to take good photos, but only when it is really bright outside (oc given the sensor size). That’s why all reviews happen outside. All of my children’s snapshots at home look like blurry oversharpened watercolor pictures with horrendous skin tones. I'm just back from London and Paris. I brought my iPhone 12 Pro and a Canon M6II with several lenses. I never used the Canon as the iPhone was just too convenient. Yes, the images are over-sharpened and over-saturated, but they still look nice and will be just fine for Facebook and a scrapbook that I'll put together after the trip. It was just too much work to drag out my camera when I could reach in my pocket and take a few shots and put my phone away. I had many positive comments about how good the photos looked, but that is more about composition and understanding light. Is the iPhone an R6 killer? No, of course not, but it is likely good enough for many simple tasks.
The main thing is understanding what the camera is capable of. The smartphone camera is not a large sensor camera, and it probably never will be. With that in mind, you can take great shots with a deeper focal plane, and a wide field of view. I find it good to practice my composition with all the limitations a phone has, compared to a “real” camera. Also, a little bit of editing goes a long way. So stop debating and make good shots with any camera you have in your hands. A good photo is a good photo even if it’s taken with a phone. Great video by the way! 🎉

Yeah. I've always maintained that it's in the eye for the most part. Someone with a good eye can take an interesting photo with anything, and conversely some people are lugging around these massive cameras and lenses, but their images are way off.
For that pro look in videos, the high end mirrorless cameras thump the iPhones everytime. Massive sensors in those. Allows for more light and more data to hit the sensor, giving you a way better image.
Side by side, it's eye opening how much nicer the Canon pictures look. If you are a pro, you already know which tools you will need for the task, but for the average consumer the iPhone pictures look fantastic for personal use.

I must be stupid, because I much preferred the iPhone photos. I think the Canon ones were lacking in vibrancy and honestly leaned a little too dark.

But that wasn't really what the report said. On the contrary, there were photos where you couldn't really tell which camera was shooting. Your argument sounds more like you don't want the quality of the iPhone to be true and you have to defend your Canon at all costs. Probably because it was so much more expensive. I'm also a professional photographer by the way, so I know what I'm talking about. If he had paid more attention to the colors and a more consistent white balance, the difference would probably have been even smaller in many places.

@@mathiassiebert1217 the difference isn't going to visible on a youtube compressed video most people are watching on their tiny cell phone screens. When I edit both my iphone 14 pro and my sony a7r4 in lightroom on my 4k monitor it's incredible obvious which is which. Hey Mr Phone fellater....show me your pics of birds in flight that are 200 ft away on your precious phone camera.....

@@toddysurcharge771 429 / 5.000 Übersetzungsergebnisse I didn't write/answer you at all, but that's it. I know that when it comes to YT videos like this, everyone always has an opinion. Especially the "pros". I was referring to the video and not your work with birds 200 meters away. No one said both cameras are the same at such a point. Just stay on topic.
I like the look
Bro i should buy sony a6000 ??
The iPhone has a great camera, with lovely in processing abilities which is perfect for everyday use. It's not really a comparison against the Canon, as the Canon is far superior. I sometimes shoot raw with my iPhone (11 pro max) through the Lightroom app. I would love to see a Lightroom Classic edit of the iPhone ProRaw and the Canon raw side by side, now that would be interesting. All in all, though. That camera on the iPhone is pretty darn good. Very impressive indeed. Great video by the way. Definitely an eye opener to how good these iPhone cameras are.
It’s like this every year … yeah, it’s not the same quality as a $5000 camera. We get it 😂
Wow I'm stunned at the iPhones capabilities! Those are also some beautiful photographs!
I think i prefer the Google camera or the pro modo in the s21 ultra
