iPhone 14 Pro Max and the S23 Ultra are the top flagship models from Apple and Samsung right now. In this video I compare Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro Max against the Samsung 23 Ultra 5G and show you the differences including price, displays, cameras, speed, android with One UI 5.1 vs iOS 16 and much more. Both the S23 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro Max are great, but I help you decide which is best for you. #iPhone14pro #S23ultra #comparison

I have an iPhone 14 Pro and recently I did preorder the Galaxy S23 Ultra. My favorite is the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The overall refinements made this year has made a huge difference. Battery life after over one week in hand has been terrific. Smooth and snappy performance, I believe it is better than my iPhone. I am a die hard iPhone Fan but have been frustrated with my iPhone 14 Pro. This year has been buggy and always has minor bugs that is not like Apple.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Some people online have been saying I'm lying, but I feel like my iPhone 14 Pro Max and iOS 16 has been a huge let down. I had been an avid iOS user for over a decade now, moving across generations (used most devices from 5s to 13 pro). Thought I'd give the s23U a try, probably to check if I was really all that dependent on the famed 'ecosystem'. Even though I'd accumulated other apple devices like many others, I was ready for the change. Surprisingly, the transition was pretty smooth, and I'm really liking my experience with a flagship android (been about a month now). I use whatsapp for my messaging, and that really helped, I guess. I use my airpods pro with the s23U, and while it's not a fully integrated experience, I still am much happier with this than the galaxy buds that I got for free with the device (the airpods pro are really that good). Hopefully, my experience continues to be good with the s23U..

Samsung has been hit or miss with their ecosystem. No doubt Apple has a better ecosystem. However, just talking the phone design and features, Samsung always brings something new or unique. If you're going with Android, don't be afraid to go outside of samsung for things like smart watches, ear buds etc. There may be better options, and they will work great. I have Sony earbuds personally. I love em.

I tried Android (Pixel 6 Pro) and that tarnished my opinion due to the multitude of issues I had with it hardware & software wise. Went back to iPhone 13 Pro Max and got another Apple watch. BUT -- SERIOUSLY considering the S23 Ultra when I'm due for upgrade later this year, all dependent on what happens with the iPhone 15 and iOS 17. If Apple would open it up a little to be able to add more third-party widgets and customization, I'd be much happier. As Aaron said iOS 16 has been very glitchy and laggy at times.

I own both, the Samsung is my work phone. They’re both great phones but overall I like the iPhone more, I like the display more, of course FaceTime and iMessage can’t be matched, and I also like the feel of it in my hand more than the Galaxy. The Galaxy definitely has a better camera overall feature-wise but both take great shots. The iPhone destroys the Galaxy when it comes to video. The feature itself is nice, you can see the notifications there and control some stuff, but still, it is very big and annoying. I was using iPhones since the 3GS and the S23 ultra is my first Adnroid cellphone, and it is really amamzing how many feautres Android phones have. My only complaint so far is the battery. It doesn't last too long if you choose to use all the phone's features like the QUAD HD resolution, 120hz and other stuff, but this happens with all phones that offers big and better screens.

@Medicine Man The Snapdragon S22 Ultra is now Samsung's best bargain device no doubt if you can get the right deal on one. The Exynos variant is a good device also and shouldn't be discounted. I owned an Exynos S21 Ultra, and that phone was excellent in every way except video quality, and this phone can still cut it today if you can get a great deal on one of these.

I still use my 12 Pro Max from 2020 as I've just been so underwhelmed with the new iPhones. Then came the S23 Ultra and I had that phone in my 'basket' so many times. The mere fact we in the UK now get the new Snapdragon chip was massive to me, but I just couldn't 'pull the trigger' and buy one. I do enjoy AirDrop and am using it daily at the moment between my wife and I and my MacBook, it's just superb. Then iMessage as well, however I wouldn't miss that so much as family and friends do all have WhatsApp and they use that a lot more. I have missed out on the pre-order discounts and storage bump so this is my plan....... 😂.... wait for the Z-Fold 5 as I reckon that could be epic. Then see what the rumours for the iPhone 15 show up as well. I could well be keeping my 12 Pro Max and buying the Z-Fold 5 this year. Tech is so damn good from Samsung right now. 👍🏻🙂

I own both, I’ve always gone from android to iPhone back and forth now I have an s23 ultra and an iPhone 14 pro max. The s23 feels snappy and has a great camera, but the iPhone just feels smoother and easier to use, I’ve also got better photos from the iPhone, the camera opens quicker and the video isn’t jerky like on the s23. Opening and closing apps on the S23 still gets jerky at times to where the iPhone every single time opens things up super smooth. I like the longer screen on the s23 and the smaller hole punch front camera, but I like the way the iPhone 14 pro max is shaped, and the dynamic island is super color and useful. I use my iPhone more because of the eco system and how I can seamlessly work across all my devices, airdrop, text messages in my MacBook and iPad etc. all in all and I’m not sorry to say, the iPhone is just a more complete more pleasant experience and it makes sense since apple make their own custom Operating System and chips. If iPhone didn’t exist I’d for sure be using Samsungs phones and they are the best android phones. I wish Samsung would build their own os and chips then they’d probably top IPhone. But as long as samsung is using android, they will always be second to iPhone. For anyone who wants to be biased fanboys, if you have an iPhone try out a Samsung it’s great but their eco system sucks. I'm seeing a lot of people switching from Apple to Samsung, specifically the S23U. While I know that is mainly because it's the newest device out, I think Apple needs to step up and the 15 series will need to be 🔥. While I won't upgrade from the iPhone 14 Pro, competition normally brings out the best in people and companies. Things that I think need to be different from Apple is bringing multitasking, better widget interfaces, design overhaul. We will see. Nice review!

One of the reasons I made the switch is because of its UI design. They are taking waaaay too long to redesign it and too long to bring us more cool stuff. I just got bored of it. Luckily I use whatsapp more than messaging.

@@CoachD77, there have been leaks, that appear credible, to show a redesign, replacing stainless steel, with titanium, and finally USB-C. Bought my first Samsung smart phone last year, the S22 and love it. At the moment there isn't enough of a change for me to 'upgrade' to the S23 range. My previous phone was the LG G6 which is such a beast of a phone even today I'm impressed with it. I do like the iPhones from a build standpoint but I just can not and will not ever buy an iPhone base on what you get for the money. Spec for spec there are plenty of Android phones that beat the iPhone in many areas especially the price. All iPhones are way way overpriced. Just a guess but I'm pretty sure Steve Jobs wouldn't approve of the current iPhone lineup.

It all comes down to the Operating system in these comparisons. It's single handedly the most important factor, and is going to decide the phone for like 90% of people. Doesnt really matter if one has better camera, performance, speaker or display (since both are very good already).

And because of that, the iPhone will always win. You cannot beat an OS that was specifically designed for the hardware. You cannot beat apps that were specifically designed for the OS that was designed for the hardware... Android has middle men and it's just never going to be as buttery smooth and attractive as iOS.

I really like the high end OPPO phones, my friend has one and it kills my iPhone 13 Pro for speed, photos and battery life. Plus it doesn’t have the bloatware of the Samsungs. I’ve been an iPhone user since they first came, but they’ve really lost me with the ‘dynamic island’ - it’s far too intrusive on the screen for my taste and dates the phone next to other brands. If they don’t remove it, or move back up to where the notch, I won’t buy another iPhone. Airdrop is pretty much the only thing the iPhone does that keeps me with Apple, but even that with that, I won’t tolerate the dynamic island and jump ship. I watch this great video of yours, Aaron, and see the minuscule dot for camera on the Samsung and the blob dynamic island on the iPhone, I can’t comprehend how people live with it.

The s23ulta feels better in the hand (caseless) than the s22ulta did. It's also has more of a flat desugn without losing the rounded edges all together. Although the same size as s23ulta, at 6.8", it is slightly wider due to the more flat design. I have both the 14PM and s23U. The 14 is for personal use, while s23U is for all non-personal use.
