This is great, but I think iPhone 11 Pro owners are much more likely to be thinking about upgrading. I wish someone would ignore the 12 and do a 13 vs 11 shootout.

iPhone 12 Pro camera sucks. My iphone XR took better pictures. Not sure if anyone faced similar issue

Had a trip with a buddy of mine and we took pics with my iPhone 12 mini and his 13 Pro Max and, more often than not, the 12's pics were better focused and looked more natural/less processed. This applies only to the main wide angle cams; the extra wide angle cam was better on the 13 PM, but the difference was certainly not huge. All in all, he asked for way more of my pics that I did of his.

Everything I heard was the 13 Pro camera was only going to be slight. But, the difference is so huge. As a KZread creator I am getting so many comments about how much better the videos look lately. I just love it. And battery life improvement is substantial too.

Good effort, but they look very similar. Sorry.

Colours on 13 are over saturated and fake where 12 pro dynamic range is better and balanced colour profiles

I must give Apple a thumbs up on the macro mode from the pictures I've seen of that it's a really great mode they stuck in there the transition is sucky but the final picture looks good Worthy enough to print or do other things with the graphic

If your using Instagram or what ever platform they lower quality of photo or video on upload so be honest I’m not going upgrade my 12pro yet I don’t see enough of difference.

Seems lots of people don’t know this (I didn’t either), but the 12 Pro can take much closer shots than you show in this macro comparison. You need to use the 2x lens, and then get it close to the subject. It “flips” into a macro mode just like the 13 Pro, but uses the wide angle lens to do it instead of the ultra-wide. Again, you *have to * have the 2x lens selected in the Apple camera app. It’s still not quite as close-up as the 13, but it’s a lot closer than shown in this video. (FWIW, I’m not sure if this feature existed in iOS14. I’ve only noticed it since installing iOS15.)

I would also like to see a pro-max comparison between them since 12 pro max have a sightly better camera than 12 pro (while 13 is the same). Would be a more fair comparison imo.

appreciate the effort but this has been the most insignificant upgrade ever for iphones. 120z screens have been around for years it is not groundbreaking b/c apple decided to use them. rest is almost same since x.

Amazing video Andrew. Indeed the 13 pro performed away better. I just can’t wait for mine to arrive. This year Apple is taking a “lifetime” to ship the phones…

Now your first shot here with the water and the trail lines in the sky and the boat out in the distance this is what I'm talking about with the Apple camera look at the light refraction on both images right down the middle on the water and when you look at the the Wake line behind the boat in the distance look how on the left how it blows that white color out more if you compare the rest of the picture it looks mostly even there are some subtle differences but when it comes to that white color again it blows it out further and this is what I can see looking on my phone I'm not using the computer I'm not blowing the images up what I normally would do you can distinctly see that whites attend to be blown out further not as messed up but like over bright

It from the community I keep hearing the lidar sensors are not functioning yet so how can you be promoting this if supposedly the community said it's not running yet

Nice camera but 10X lens would put it over the top JMO. This incremental update from last year which what we’ve come to expect from Apple

Okay you say all black to set a concert but I see some really big bright lights now I do understand what you mean because I've used night photography before on a phone but how your wording this is just not right

What upgrades? I can only see a downgrade when it comes to oversharpening. Anything non-zoomed looks better on the 12

I'm certainly no fan of iPhone I understand why certain people are because it's a stable repetitive system but I don't know how you can sound kind of happy that it went up by one optical zoom that's nothing

Macro mode looks impressive. Cinematic mode not so much

Now you're showing the two dogs the two brown dogs and the two different shots and again my problem goes back to the white blown out colors I distinctly see it in the 13 model and if they made a software tweak which they can that's the problem Apple could make that slight software tweak to the iPhone 12 Guess What you'd be getting almost as nice photos between the two of them it would be harder to distinguish them not completely but apple is not enhancing the photography of the iPhone 12 like they are on the iPhone 13 and I've only know this because I've shot with digital I've shot with film I've shot with medium format film it must have got a camera made by Nikon camera made by Kodak or an older camera company which I can't think of the name off the top of my head and let's say you use the exact same film and let's say you properly expose all the shots and you keep all the default focus range and the same Iris opening it's the f11 cuz that's good for depth of field I can almost guarantee you I don't care whether using 35 mm or if you're using 120 film you're going to get the same great shot except for the type of lens on the front as long as you get everything matched up and the type of lighting and everything it's going to boil back to the lens in regards to a real camera but you should get equal highlights brightness darkness and all that to where the iPhones any other phone it boils back to the lens again in case something's Goofy with the lens but it boils back to the software through that basic knowledge alone there is absolutely no reason why Apple cannot upgrade it that iPhone 12 camera none. I had an older pixel phone the new one was coming out somebody managed to hack the camera and unlock a certain feature at one point it was the night photography and they reposted the app the camera app on my older phone at that time and I downloaded it and sure enough soon as I tried it my phone that could not do night photography was able to do it instantly without a problem it took a little longer than though upgraded phone that came out you also many months later but that was because of its core software and some other things so when the correct camera came out I deleted the hacked camera for my phone and I did get the newer phone at that point and I tried both of them for night photography sure the older phone has some limitations but I didn't have a color issue or brightness issue because it was a software doing the lifting in that case and it was amazing to see an older phone model one generation back be able to use this newer camera without any hiccups at all so why does Apple put out their new phone new cameras and the previous model doesn't get that benefit and I'm not talking about the zoom I'm not talking about the telephoto I'm talking about the software algorithms as far as I know the 12 and 13 aren't they supposed to be both on the bionic chip or whatever it's called the 15 chip or even if one was on 15 one was on 13 or 14 they keep if you look up the comparison between their phones their tablets you'll see this weird back and forth of is it the 8:15 813 or 14 depending on the model even though the newer iPads that are coming out at the same time as the newer iPhones are using a13 instead of the A15 that doesn't make any sense so apples actually teasing you into moving forward into the newer phones when what they've done with the newer phones is it truly enough at least at the moment cuz we haven't seen the newest thing for the promax models to sit there and say there's enough difference to jump I would wait one more year that's how I do my phones I wait I get a phone I skipped the next year and then the next year after that that's when I get the new phone I LeapFrog my phone's and I definitely see a better difference when doing so

I got the white iPhone 13 pro max in silver 128gb and uploaded an unboxing video on my channel too! I also did an unboxing of the spigen clear glitter case. great clear case without adding more width and weight to the phone. The iPhone 13 pro max is a great phone!!!!!

greater aperture hole in 13 pro shows its disadvantages in optical image quality (flaring, lower resolution, lower contrast). Apple has to compensate it by over-processing, oversharpening. Optically 12 pro is better.

Okay you're telling me the cat was taking it almost pitch black room the problem I have with that and what I know of photography is looking at the cat's body I'm seeing some highlights not either there was some light coming in that's allowing this to stack photography properly or the sensor in the camera in the software are really doing something I think it's combination because without that software it would have had a lot more trouble doing this but Apple's new camera if you compare it to other cameras attends to slightly blow out the white color more I don't know why I watched a bunch of videos it was always the same problem not a bad problem but for people who notice it it's annoying because I shouldn't blow whites out

The picture of your pet there or it looks like a pet and I see the yellow tone you referring to on the right I see the slightly murky image to the dogs or cats for whatever the pet is but with some basic software that can be light and bright and correctly and you can actually reclaim the sharpness of the dog's hair so that leaves me again to say it really is probably the software on the iPhone 13 and again they're brightening the whites more you can see that in the bean bag chair that the pet is sitting on they're not blowing them out in this case because they're such a larger version of white but if you notice it is highlighting slightly the whites or the white tones in the dogs for on the pro where if the camera on the left had a proper slight adjustment you can get those same white tones you really could there's absolutely no reason why that other thing can't do it except for Apple did not provide the algorithms for that phone then you would really be looking at the murkiness instead of the color tonal shift or could be the glass backing in front of the cameras to protect the lenses that could have done that too

I'm sorry I am no fan of digital zoom because all you're doing is taking this number times the optical zoom to get the larger number the 15 zoom a true comparison is its optical limit not the digital limit digital limit is more like stretching the image out and you're just trying to capture this thing and if you're moving too much you're going to blur it I don't care what phone you're on but if the iPhone's following the general line of it's taking multiple photos to get that shot then it's pushing them together to then get that actual clear shot so I really questioned what is actually doing which is not a bad thing that's a good thing to do but again any cell phone that does not have optical zoom it's crappy. Now the better the optical zoom then we're talking telephoto or whatever else you want to do with it you'll get a better crisper shot.

Okay that depth of field and I don't care what digital device you're using for in regards to a cell phone it's not a selling point because some of them are going to try to fake it some of them it's just a limitation of what the depth of field iris aperture is I've never heard somebody trying to sell the iPhone so much the way you talk about it it's a newer camera it's got a newer features yes the sensor from what I understand hasn't been enlarged at all in the computation photography that they're catching up to Google on is helping them with this part now if you want to get a bit funky when it comes to the iPhones video recording and they say that they can change the focal point after the videos recorded tells me a few steps one is recording a depth of field two it's recording the video in complete one focus range three you're choosing what subject you want to see at that moment so the other part that's not chosen becomes the unfocused range according to the depth of field see that's what Apple did not tell you and from the way this functions it's not a lie but it's not telling the complete truth either they're just seemingly recording a straight video and sounds like a fixed focal whatever you want to call it cuz I don't know the proper terminology but they're doing a Boca after or while you're doing it based on what is selected I wish Apple would tell the truth to the people
