I had discussed this issue with apple team on the first day when i got my iPhone 13, they did so many things took control of my phone.I showed them realtime issue by keeping object in front of my camera ! Also recorded a video of this issue and uploaded it on apple support site. Then they told to visit nearest service center.There I compared with other iPhone 13's as well then we concluded that this is with all iPhone 13 models. IPhone 12 and below can focus better on close objects.

Mines doing it too. Wtf. Just paid 900$ for this thing. And can’t even take sell anything

@@ekrammadani6223 so in the camera mode, you can actually use your fingers to "zoom in" and zoom out... so you do not use your iPhone real close, just be close enough not to blur the screen then use your fingers to Zoom in to get a "closer" look. I did not know I could use fingers to zoom in on the camera so that'll solve your problem.

Facing the same issue with 13 mini, 😔 I feel it’s getting out of focus even on longer shots… but frequently on close up shots

My iPhone 13 has same issue but I found I can use the magnifier and take pictures with that and it can focus fine.

It’s not a bug, Apple did it on purpose on all 13 and 13 mini. i guess it’s just a marketing approach so that we buy the Pro and Pro Max versions. So no they ain’t gonna fix it

I thot i have Recieved a defective product. But its same with every one. Very disappointed with it. This is my 1st and last iphone. My last mi note 7 takes clear close up shot then this phone. And thats what disappointing me the most. Spent so much on this and still you got to live with compromising.

Have the same issue. Couldn't even take a photo of a part number on a car part I need to replace. Had to pull out my old Pixel 3 to do it.

Using an iPhone is a pain in itself New day new issues and after paying a big chunk of money you still have to adjust! Btw, Having the same issue guys!

Bought iphone 13 and disappointed in camera alot… tbh iphone 5camera was better then 13..

I used iPhone 11 for 1 year and took best closeup shots but now using an iPhone 14 , things seem to be different the closeup shot is fucking not gets captured properly....I paid almost ₹70k for this

I agree as the sensor is growing in size , its capability to focus on close objects is decreasing

I had found a solution for this if you want to take close shots adjust the camera and zoom it. That’s the only solution and it works

Facing the same issue , Hope they fix it soon.

@@aownfarooq4237 mine when on 1x-2.5x zoom blurs the photos. It is shifting from blurry to clear every second like a wave. Ridiculous for the price of this

This happens when from camera is damaged or Lidar sensor have been replaced without programming or you need to add anti shake glue to rear 1x camera.

On macro control in your camera setting

I’m facing same issue in my iPhone12 after the last software upgrade!!!

Since it doesn’t seem like apple is going to fix this, I have found a tips to improve the focus problem when taking close shot. Step 1: Use 1x Step 2: Bring your phone to the closest spot that the camera can focus, tap on the object to ensure it is focussed Step 3: Once the camera has focussed on the object, use your finger to zoom on the object to 2.5x manually The resolution when taking close shot is still incomparable to iphone 12 using this method but it at least enable you to take closer shot

Please update you 13 Pro, 13 Pro will not have this issue, now Apple has included a toggle option inside the actual Camera app with iOS 15.2. How to enable Macro toggle on iPhone 13 Pro camera Running iOS 15.2 on iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max, open the Settings app Swipe down and choose Camera Swipe to the bottom, tap the toggle next to Macro Control Now you’ll see a flower icon (right in the Camera app) you can quickly toggle off/on after Macro mode kicks in (bring the camera close to something to get it to show up) In Settings > Camera you can also now tap Preserve Settings Tap the toggle next to Macro Control With this on, your Macro on or off preference will be preserved as the default when opening the Camera app Note: With Macro Control fully toggled off, iPhone 13 Pro will auto switch to Macro mode when you get close to subjects and will not show the manual toggle in the Camera app.

Hello! I am facing the same problem with the iPhone 13 mini, when focusing at small distances, when taking a photo of a document or a card the texts are blurred and the focus is bad, another problem I found, when taking a photo of a smart board from a larger distances also the texts are so blurred as well the photo of the board gets black and sometimes super black and this is so weird, the texts on the board seems like burned or the whole picture looks roasted. My question is: Is there is like a little hope, that this problem may be little bit fixed in Apple updates in the future?

I think that's the minimum distance required for iPhone 13 to focus on close objects. Even iPhone 12 can focus better on close objects. I had gone to service center for this issue and they said nothing can be done.

@@CodeClickFilm I have an iPhone 7 plus and it take better pictures than iPhone 13 on focus I mean when I put anything close to the camera on iPhone 7 Plus the picture much better than iPhone 13 and also i had gone to authorised service provider in Kuwait to get a report talk and explain what i have about the camera auto focus issue and I got this report and I give it go the place that I bought from i refunded d my money back

We are not talking about micro camera 😉 We are talking about minimum focusing distance here which is more in iphones compared to other phones , due to large sensor may be 🤞

What’s the point in paying over a thousand on a device which it’s main purpose can’t even fufill ? i seems with every upgrade they do something to each model causing us to always need to get the “latest and greatest” i just want to take a closeup picture of my cats!

@@JoshstudyClub I would suggest you to try taking picture of any document or aadhar card with iphone 13 non pro model and with iphone 12 as well and you will see the difference how close iphone 12 can go compared to iphone 13.

So as I understand we can’t solve this issue? :(

Please try to click picture of your documents or id card then you will know the exact issue.

I have a lot of paperwork so i click a lot of documents pics so i buy 12 not 13 right?

This is not an issue I think. Maybe this is happening because apple has increased the sensor size and this phone is not for macro photography..

Its been more than 6 months now.No hope's!

I think, the temporary solution is zooming the object when it get focused at suitable distance 😅

I went to Apple, this is only the 13 mini and 13 problem, the pro and pro max are fine, they don’t have this issue… guess I’ll have to pay my phone off or trade it in when half the balance is paid off 😔

This is a huge problem! I returned one to the store two days ago! Does iphone 13 pro have this issue?

No mam it's still there, if your requirement is to take close up pictures i would suggest to compare 13 with 12 side by side and then decide.

@@smitalppatil7508 Mam still its not resolved and i dont think it will get resolved. If your requirement is to click close up pictures at 8 to 10 cm then iphone 13 has issue. Iphone 12 works well in this case.I recommend to visit any shop and campare 12 and 13 for this scenario.Or else 13 is a good phone.

It's the "Macro Control" go to Settings > Camera

I guess there will be no update , you will have to live with it and find some alternative way like use wide angle lens or try to zoom in.
