Ok but how do you get to recovery mode when youre locked out. Update overnight prompted a passcode reset, it was reset, and is now not accepting the passcode and giving the iphone unavailable message. I tried the instructions from the phone off, and it flashes the apple logo over and over and over again, but doesnt go to recovery mode. Cant restore from the failed passcode attempt because its not connected to network or wifi. Obviously cant connect to wifi because i cant get in. Maybe time for a new phone i guess, but sucks because i cant trade in the current one

How do you do that

I have the hardest time ever getting mine into DFU mode. Such a stupid series of button presses. I have to do it 10 times to get it to work once!

Handy video. Think the sponsoring of the video by a software developer who has wrote some software that can put your iPhone into Recovery mode is a bit pointless, especially when people are able to do the exact same thing, as shown by you in this useful video with a sequence of button presses.

Ps: To spare (to maintain the functionality) the buttons, I mostly turn up or down the volume by pulling down the control Center and adjust the volume there. When I want to turn off the iPhone I go to the settings, then to general and all the way down to the bottom is a "button" to shut down the device. Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭

Never heard of anyone doing this but makes sense. I use a magnetic charger for the same purpose of not wearing out the charge port & keeps dust ect out as well ✌🏻🇦🇺

Just unboxed a brand new 13 pro max and activated the phone… 45 minutes into ownership it was loading circle loop booting and would give a full purple screen. Had to put it in recovery mode just now and iTunes said the phone is unrecoverable. Needs to be restored to factory settings and updated. Currently pc is downloading the update… can’t wait to see how this goes. So exciting yay…

Wish I knew of this video existed yesterday. I haven't had an iPhone in many years and got a new iPhone 13. It was working fine and yesterday I got my Apple case for it and put it on, then went to take the case off and somehow the screen on the iPhone went to maximum zoom so only 25% of the normal size screen was displayed. I couldn't log on to get to setting because the login screen in zoom mode doesn't shift left and right so you can't get to all the digits on the number pad. I was guessing there was some sort of button sequence but my guessing just ending up in me called the Emergency thing. So I went to Apple Support Chat on my computer and they told me the button sequence to reboot the phone that got rid of the zoomed screen. So I have subscribed to your YT channel so I can find more tips like this in case I need them.

I don't know what my mom did to her iPhone 13 pro max. She tried to shut down the phone but hit the emergency sos slider. The screen is not responsive for a few things. I can only slide down to see the control center or turn it off but I'm not able to fully shut it down and I'm doing these steps.

Apple docs don't tell you anything about how long you have to hold, that you are waiting for X or Y "glyph", etc for recovery mode. Thanks for saving me from a LOT more frustration were I to keep hitting my head against a wall on this one!!

Ive had android for 6 years, switched to iphone 13 because I got it for 300 dollars (verizon deal) and my phone refused to respond to anything the screen was choppy, Thank for for helping me fix someone that would have been thrown at the wall if not otherwise

They forget to mention it costs 35 + dollars to use the software.

It‘s really good that you have to enter your Passcode to disable Find my, because then thieves can’t shut it down.

Obviously your demo iphone is NOT currently froozen so you can follow that instructions, however when it IS actually froozen ... IT IS COMPLETELY STUCK forever. The real options are: 1) bring the iphone to apple store -> they have to plug it into their laptop and do some magic 2) or let the battery drain until end ... then the iphone will reboot Good luck. I've been through it.

TL;DW: it's the same as on iPhone 12, 11, and X.
