Indeed!!!! For the price wise, Xiaomi MI 10 Ultra is no brainer.... Scary how it can creep in within Samsung & Apple territories..

Apart from selfie camera and low light video, Mi 10 Ultra definitely wins my heart cos it excels in most of the categories (even in daylight videos, I really love the stability and exposure of Mi 10 Ultra) It's too good for a phone which is nearly half the price of 12 Pro Max available in our country.

I think the fold 2 did the best overall. Wow!

I'm still impressed with the mi 10 ultra. I can't explain to myself if it's because of the OV sensor or if they have improved their software, but the camera is definitely top notch. About the video I think the iphone is better than the Xiaomi but just in certain situations - the opposite is also true. Same for the low light performance. About the daylight photos all three are very capable, but maybe the iphone is a step ahead. Regards!

one thing to note - 4k 30 ultrawide - Mi looks much better in stabilization, and iPhone looks like phones from ~2016 without OIS (stuttering over time while moving 2:45)

Mi 10 Ultra better overall, in photos with the main sensor, all are very good, but with the luggage of other comparisons and other sources, I would give the advantage to the Mi 10 Ultra. In videos Mi 10 Ultra has exceptional stabilization in addition to an excellent HDR, comparable to that of the 12 Pro Max, and even better between 3:45 to 4:02. In night photos the Mi 10 Ultra is also more faithful. Result: Xiaomi made a Monster! thank you very much for the comparison :)

My dad has one and I was trying low light footage like with horror movie lightning and it was absolutely awful! People wonder why professionals don't use phones. That's why.

True, but for some reason the 12 series' selfie cams seem to render really soft video, even softer than the 11. It also looks quite flat when compared side-by-side. It looks like the HDR is going a bit overboard.

Great video. I'm a big fan of the mi 10 ultra tbh. I don't own it but it seems to be the best all rounder. Lacks a bit of polish and consistency maybe .. Do you have the pictures available to download on your site so we can really compare? youtube compression isn't the best for this

Loved your comparison and analysis ♥️. All these phones are superb and more or less win and loose in some aspects. At the end, price is the final decision maker. Here in Singapore: Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra = 1214 SGD, iPhone 12 Pro Max = 1799 SGD and Samsung Fold 2 = 2888 SGD. I will definitely choose Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra over the other 2 because its significantly cheaper than the other 2 but is almost good as them or sometimes even better. Cheers! 🎉

Great video once again. In the low light video test even though the ipphone and the galaxy got the color of the sign wrong, the iphone had great stability while the stabilization on th mi 10 ultra was pretty bad and it kept blowing out bright lights in the background so overall for me the Iphone had the beast low light video. I really hope Mi 10 Ultra gets a camera update that can possibly fix some of the issues. Please stay safe and God bless.

People saying the pro max has the better video quality, when you can actually see the clouds pulsing because of the EIS when moving about. The color is also washed out and more yellow as well (you can see it clearly on a 1440p monitor or higher). Stabilization is also best on the fold 2 which is surprising in 4k. Audio on the 12 pro is also bringing in too much ambient noise. The Mi 10 ultra has the more rich sounding of the 3. I'm also surprised the zoom footage of the apple has artifacts in the background (notice the waves in the back). The Mi 10 at night also has judders when panning. EIS on all 3 phones during night videos needs to be improved.

1st place, fold 2 in both video and photos. 2nd Mi 10. 3rd 12 pro max

He already talked about it in another video. It seems iPhone uses different mics depending on the camera, and some of those mics sound muffled.

All phones here are top notch in the Camera department, and they can deliver. For me the fold 2 was the most well rounded phone. But the IPhone does have the edge in videos. Great comparison Chris🙂👏

How about their specs? Which do you think is the best?

The iPhone 12 Pro max Sensor is physically the same as in the Regular Galaxy S20/20FE/Note 20. So it's already behind in terms of specs, Apple has the google aproach with powerful hardware fueling the computational photography/videography. While the results are good to great I really wish they would innovate a bit more. Oh well maybe the next Mate 50 pro from Huawei will have a 1'' sensor ;)

LIKE .. the first word !! Although this comparison gave me the impression that it was made on ... quickly before. I was expecting more difficult photos accompanied by a detailed analysis. But even so, it is enough for a first impression. All three phones are very popular, but I think the Mi 10 Ultra is the best option not only from the examples presented, but especially from what was not presented here. Technically speaking, Mi 10 ultra is the most advanced on the photography side, being the only one that can shoot 8 K with a 5x zoom camera ...not only with the main camera. The fact that the shooting and zoom shooting options are not default does not mean that he does not have or cannot do such a thing. I believe that if a chapter such as zoom part is presented, then these settings should be used for all three phones, no matter where they have been implemented by the manufacturers (and front and back...also, a very interesting and useful option for many). For me, 12 Pro Max, surprisingly, has the weakest sound, a questionable video stabilization and the same format for processing photos for about 4 years unchanged(which does not mean that it is the best), Fold 2 gave me the impression that Samsung has invested much more in a hinge than in the photo area.... Finally, congratulations Chris, for the effort and I look forward to the next review!!!!

agree with you on the finding. I think for night videos, promax seems to be more stable, more details, otherwise all 3 are pretty good in all aspects. Disappointed for the promax, while having a bigger sensor to regular iphone12mini, does not yield mindblowing improvements, and the sensor shift is probably 2 axis, just to keep the phone thin and not to increase stability, not gimbal like on the x50pro. I tot the mi10ultra would be a better comparison than the 10t pro? 2.5x is surprisingly more reach compared to 2x.

Hello, I have a somewhat specific request and I need advice. I need a phone with an excellent camera (main) and above all with the fastest possible picture. That is, with minimal post-processing. I will be using a company application to take pictures, so I need the camera not to depend on the application itself for image quality. The price does not matter, but ideally it should be an android phone. This is not a technical limitation, but rather a personal preference. Well for the price out of these 3 the mi 10 ultra. For vlog video quality the iPhone 12 pro max. For the phone over all for it's features and larger screen the fold 2. I like them all!

Mi 10 ultra killed it, much more true to life color rendition then 12 pro max or fold2. It's a beast of a phone, unmatched but for the lower quality front videos.

You are supposed to turn Dolby vision off to record with the iPhone, otherwise the video is going to be bad without the correct post processing

Even if you didn't do a solid job on these vids, i would simply watch for the views haha

Max zoom in video for Xiaomi MI 10 Ultra is 15x and it is NOT cropping from main camera, at least for 4K30 and 1080P30. :) It may be cropping from main camera for 4K60 and 1080P60. You can also make sure that 5x camera is selected for video recording in PRO video mode.

Xiaomi's rear camera impressed a lot considering price differences among these smartphone. Differences were very close. If Xiaomi work more on selfie camera, no judder/panning, auto focus, bloat free-advertise free-bug free OS then definitely it'll be one of the best performer in smartphone industries. Competition is all time welcome, it's good for us.

I am interested in knowing what settings exactly you are using on the Mi 10 ultra because it has a settings that enhance the image quality. Especially at night it kicks in but then you can not take pictures att moving object. Its like a night mode Light.

You can't do a wind noise test that way. The phones needs bigger distance to prevent them from ambifying or blocking the wind. Next you need to adjust the levels. Some phones are 10 DB louder.

Why is nobody talking about the weird light reflections on iphone photos and videos at night? Is that a normal thing?

@@lukemothug Gcam doesn't really work with Androids newer than 11, probably since google wants to sell Pixels. With Android 11, a system restriction came in that doesn't allow you to use other cameras than the Main with third party apps.

@@lukemothug With Android 7 They removed access to GPU usage, with Android 8 they removed access to CPU usage and you need to root your phone for one click delete Cache. With Android it became impossible to Modify APK's with your phone by yourself. The installation Limit also Changed to 5% for Apps not from play store, you won't be able with 2GB of Storage to install 20MB Apps anymore if you have 64GB in Total. With Android 9 the Google play store blocks installations from other Apps not installed from play store if it's modified (It won't tell you, only say "installation failed", deactivate Google play store and it will work again. With Android 10 those things even happens more aggressive, even sometimes from unmodified apps, access to memory usage and Network usage (Like you have on Windows Task manager) got removed as well. With that said, it doesn't even surprise me. Android is becoming more and more like iOS, I'm not feeling free with this system anymore and I don't like it.

It's hard to say if any is better than the others. They very much all seem to have a distinct style that people will gravitate to.

It's 2020 but selfie cameras on Xiaomi's flagship phones still record videos at 1080p maximum, whereas others can do 4K 60fps vlogs. I still love Mi 10 Ultra but plz step up the game on front camera for the next Mi 11 series & K40 Pro.

Looking at all the xiaomi mi 10 series video camera review with main camera, I can clearly say the xiaomi is good with 4k30 and bad with 4k60. The images tends to be more saturated (red tint) at 4k60

There is actually a lot of differences between mid range phones and high end phones. The manufacturers just learn how to not cut the things we pay the most attention to. For example I guarantee the vibration motors for the note and pro max destroy the mo 10.

The iPhone is head & shoulders above the rest in terms of dynamic range. It easily has an additional couple of stops, maybe even more. The Xiaomi is let down by its standard Omnivision sensor. I believe the telephoto Sony IMX586 would have greater dynamic range.

Good comparison mate , personally i think the Iphone is a tad over rated in the camera , dont get me wrong it seems quite decent , but like all the others you can still find faults with it , and i see the iphone video at times still has the trade mark white balance flicker at times that the iphone 11 models also had , also at times footage seemed to have a slight fog over it while the others did not ( dont know whats goin on there ? ). I bought one of these 12 pro maxs today , and i havent had it out of my hot little hands for about half a day , it does have some good points , and maybe i`m having some android withdrawal symptoms :) , but i`ll be honest , its not blowing my socks off , and only 2.5 zoom is pretty piss weak imo .. I do like the flat display though .

To find that the newest iPhone 12 Pro Max has the worst video stabilization is surprising. The Mi 10 Ultra astonishingly able to compete with newer phone that is twice the price! (Xiaomi really need to fix the red tint issue tho). Lowlight photo is the best, low light video the brightest but lightings tend to overexpose, 4k video the most stable (quality on par with Pro Max) and the zoom video/camera is no contest. Just falling out at ultrawide video and camera.

I mostly like the Samsung images and video. Stabiliser is best on Xiaomi
