Appreciate all the free info super helpful. Hope you get to hear that enough that you are helping a lot of other people out by sharing the info. I was wondering after your experience and before your experience how did you settle ont hat ring light? any tips or advice you would have looking back now? Is there another version you would choose over it? Also as just a follow up do you still use SNAPPIC? thanks!

Your setup looks great!! Have you had any problem with the ring light bothering people, e.g., the glare from the light is a nuisance for other party goers or the brightness of the ring light changes the ambiance in a low light party setting.

Not at all....i think it goes to like 100 and if it's bright out (daytime, etc), i might have it on 50....as the night goes on I put it on it's lowest setting...which is 15 i think....just for a little bit of added brightness to the subject, and it helps attract people to use it. But yes, they can't stand too close or too far away, but there's not much you can do about that unless you are attending to it.

Thank you for all the info :) Quick question for you. Can I use any Version iPad Pro 10.5? And can you give us more information on snappic software what we need to do with it? Is it a software we purchase or is it a membership that we need to subscribe to and also if I’m using a PC computer how do I link those two together and create in event

Use any ipad, so long as it has the better 7mb front camera. You can buy per event ($19)...and not sure about PC usage, i'm an apple guy

Will the iPad Pro 12.9 fit in this exact set up? I went to buy everything and then realized I have the 12.9...

Technically yes, but it's a lot bigger so it will take up some of the ring light space...which is fine I guess. But you'd just have to make sure you buy the 12.9 inch case instead of course

Does the software allow you to play a rotating gallery of all pictures on a screen?

No...but there is a gallery button the guests can access...it just doesn't rotate the pics

Hi, since business is very slow this year due to the pandemic. I wanted to learn how to use and get familiar with Snappic. I would like to know if you could help how to change the live view to a full screen using portrait mode. And how to fix the borders on the 2x6 doubled prints. When my printer cuts the print into 2x6 the middle of the where it gets cut in half does not have a border like the sides, top and bottom. I went to print configuration on the app to adjust the margins every way possible still didn’t work. Do you have a suggestion on how to fix my situations. Thank you in advance.

I think mine is 256, but it doesn't matter. The photos don't get stored on the ipad...they go to the software and then to the cloud. If you don't have WIFI in the place you are at you can always make a hotspot from your phone...if you have ZERO internet, it also doesn't matter. Peeople can still use the software like regular, and they can still enter their phone number to text it...but the photos won't get pushed to their phone until your ipad gets WIFI finally connected.

How will the customers take their photos if the iPad is mounted horizontally? Technically, the front camera in is in sideway...

I haven't. But many people have and it seems to work fine. I suggest you join the Facebook group for Snappic users. It's very helpful and many people discuss the printing/any issues that may come up.

Can people share their pics without the micro site?

Don't think so. I think when they text it to their phones they then have to click on the link to the micro-site..and then save it to their phones there. Not sure though. Customer service would respond right back if you asked them

How do you send the zip file? Do you use a certain program?

You download off Snappics' web site after an event. Very very easy to do.

Yup...i don't do it, but there are probably tutorials on Snappic's web-site. Their customer support is superb

I don't use a DSLR with the software, but you of course can. Check their web-site maybe. My particular version you see here takes me literally 3 minutes to set up and turn on.

Well, you NEED to use the ipad PRO with the 7MP front camera IMO for best quality. I've had zero glitches of any kind, and if you belong to the Facebook group there are a lot of helpful posts. I find most people that have issues it's with DLSR set up or printer issues (neither of which I use), and Snappic customer service will fix any issue you have within minutes.

Hi Ryan, really appreciate your video's. Question, I noticed that you're using Snappic (and the iPad) in the landscape mode, not in the portrait mode. Does the Snappic software only work in the landscape mode or what is the reason you chose to use landscape vs portrait?

It does it in both. I like the landscape mode personally because I think it gives a better user experience, but that's just me. Most people use portrait I guess

Hi, Thank you for uploading these videos about the Ipad Photobooth. I am a DJ in Canada and I have a agreement with a Photobooth company for some gigs but I would like to build my own. This has given me some good ideas. I was initially not sure about using an Ipad for PB but if we put our DSLR's down to 3MP to not take too much juice from the computers why wouldnt 5MP from an Ipad Pro be enough. I have a few lighting questions for you. How far from the ipad do most guests stand? less than 5 feet? 5-10? Do you find the lack of flash an issue when the guests are further away? One of your videos you metionned that you added side lighting, why? Have you used backdrops at all with this setup? Thank you for your help Kevin

they stand about 6 feet away I would guess...max. You wouldn't want to be further. Side lighting helps get rid of shadows and gives a less direct light from straight ahead like the ring light. I do have a sequin backdrop i now use as well...champagne

I say that, but then last night I actually used those side lights as more of front lights as they were giving me shadows....still, those "side" lights are nice to compliment the ring light with. The ring light can create hot spots on faces if too bright

How much is that app?
