I have the Air 4, and I'm sticking with it. The A14 will still get updates for years to come, and Center Stage, the camera, and faster Thunderbolt port isn't a necessity for me. 5G is still young, and 4G LTE is still plenty fast. If I need to scratch that M1 itch, I have my MacBook Air. Get the Air 5 if you NEED these new features. If not, save your money.

Elliot Ware - Thanks for your feedback, this is helpful to me. I am actually thinking about purchasing a new iPad Air 4 this Easter weekend 2022. The iPad Air 4's are on sale at Best Buy for $100 off the regular price, which means it's the exact same price as the current iPad Mini 6, which is what I intended on purchasing. I don't really care about the upgraded front camera or having the M1 processor in the iPad Air 5, and I am buying the Wi-Fi version. Plus I am upgrading from an iPad Mini 4 which was released in 2015, so the Air 4 will still be a huge upgrade for me.

I have the Air 4 and the Magic Keyboard I bought from Amazon Renewed. It's excellent. When I heard they were putting the M1 in the Air, my first question was "Why?" Ugh. Staying with my Air 4. The only extras I would have liked on it are Face ID and Center Stage. Not enough to spend more on Apple stuff. I spent a lot the last two years. I'm now good for at least 5 years! LOL

I decided to buy the gree iPad Air 4 in green at a discounted price. The blue is pretty, but I was hoping for more of a teal color and it’s just not. I have the green iMac and midnight green 11 pro max. I love the starlight color and my mini and Apple Watch is that color. For what I do, the iPad Air 4 in green is Perfect for me

Maybe it’s just me I prefer the blue on air4. Hence upgrade my perfectly usable and smooth air3 for air4. I got second hand used only for 5 months in perfect condition at a good discount cause the seller is going for air5. I love the sky blue it matches with my iPhone 13 pro. I like sierra blue much more than iPhone 13 blue

I would like to know if there's any difference in the speaker quality from the air 4 and 5

To each their own, but I prefer the more subtle colors of the Air 4. And I’ll take the green option over the purple option any day. What is missing though is a product red. When they finally release a product red iPad, Apple can take my money.

Oh for sure! On the product red.

I had last year‘s model 64 gigs upgraded to this year‘s 256 gigs I wanted the 5G and the eight gigs of RAM as well everything else is icing on the cake

I live in Chicago and i have 5g on the mini, m1 ipad pro and now on the new air 5. It’s so fast i love it🥰

Could be good to know that the iPad Pro 11 inch 128 is not much more expensive than the Air 256. As 256 Gb is quite a lot for a tablet for most people, getting the Pro 11 inch instead of the 256 Gb Air might be a good move

The 5G and the 8 GB of RAM is enough to stream I was having trouble with the iPad Air 4 with the streaming so now I’m able to stream a lot better.

It really only makes sense to upgrade from iPad Air 1. Air 2 would push through a year more at being perfectly usable.

I will still miss the green color..

But sir I already have air 4 so Is I need to upgrade to air5

the 4th Gen cannot run the new apps in IOS16 like Taskmanager - so if you want that it might be a good reason to switch. Just For Your Information for those who are looking to upgrade

Hi thanks for watching. Stage manager was announced as an ios16 feature long after this video was made but yes the air 5 with the M1 can run stage manager.

Hey.. just wanted to ask ur opinion I had my eye on ipad air 4 since december and it’s going to be my first ipad Now I can’t decide if it’s better going for ipad air 4 or 5 Since i will be using it for facetime, procreate, and gaming only I keep thinking A14 is enough But can’t denied m1 chip is better

Either one will serve you well and since you don’t already have the 4 I recommend the 5 for the faster chip and another year plus of support.

Could you please find out if the backlight bleed is still a problem with the new iPad Air. With the old one, in dark conditions you could see backlight bleed when there there black bars such as watching KZread.

@@Anteater23 It's Apple, they won't acknowledge any iPad issues. Just like they ignored iPad Pro 10,5 white spots problem which most iPads got.

For someone buying their first iPad, which one would you choose? A brand new iPad Air 5 with 64 GB of storage for $599, or an Apple store refurbished iPad Air 4 with 256 GB of storage for $549? I'm leaning towards the Air 4 for that massive bump in storage and lower price, and the main reason is that I wonder if 64 GB is enough for the long term. I'm wondering about anyone else's thoughts.

I think the air 4 refurb is a great buy! If you plan to install lots of games or download offline video then def get the 256.

@@JerrySchulze This is what I’m thinking. I’m wanting to future proof myself so I can hold on to it for a few years. It sounds like the M1 is more than what is needed for an iPad. With the money I save, I can get an Apple Pencil and possibly a keyboard without hurting the wallet as much.

I’m upgrading from my iPad Air 3 to the 5. Just for study purposes 😊

Pro features will be limited by only one usable storage option.

sir, may i ask... if im just want to watch netflix. and some notes. lightly games.. which one have i buy? i love good resolution display. thats bonus

They will give you the same experience for that. Go with the 4 if you want to save money. Go with the 5 if you want maybe another year of support.

It’s silly but I really love the Starlight color of my iPad Mini 6. The Blue shade on the new Air is stellar as well.

Me too. I didn’t like the blue as much as I thought I would. I decided to get the iPad Air 4 in green to match my iMac in green. I love green. I was a met I get it at a discounted price or I was going to buy the starlight color. Then I’d have it on my mini, my watch, and the iPad Air 5 😂🤣🤣.

I want to get an i pad for the first time. For gaming, watching videos and for editing videos please tell me which one shall i get 🤧

I was hoping you’d show some real world app perf differences. If there are no differences then not sure why would one go for the upgrade. I certainly don’t run my tech for 5 years or longer so future proofing is never a consideration.

There is basically no difference for most apps. Luma fusion will export faster and that’s the hardest thing I can throw at it. Most games will load the same speed and play the same. Apple processors are just really good.

@@JerrySchulze Thanks for the follow up! Isn’t the port supposed to be faster as well for file transfers? Either way - it looks like for an average user there isn’t much difference. I guess the advice would be that if you already have an iPad Air 4 then don’t upgrade - otherwise get the latest and greatest if first time buyer. 🤷🏻‍♂️
