Ionic Solids (The Solid State - 5) || Chemistry for Class 12 in Hindi
In this Chemistry video in Hindi for class 12 we explained what ionic solids are. Ionic solids are made up of crystals of ions, e.g., NaCl. The solid Sodium Chloride is made up of sodium ions and chloride ions.
This is a topic from the chapter 'The Solid States' for Class 12th Chemistry.
Ionic solids are formed by the three dimensional arrangements of cations and anions bound by strong coulombic (electrostatic) forces. These solids are hard and brittle in nature. They have high melting and boiling points. Since the ions are not free to move about, they are electrical insulators in the solid state. However, in the molten state or when dissolved in polar liquid. the ions become free to move about and they conduct electricity.

Sir yaha apne boiling point jo NaCl ka aur CaCl2 ka bataye unme NaCl ka jyada tha aur same salt molecules ko dekhe to CaCl2 ka boiling point jyada hai to iske piche ka kya karan ho sakta hai
