It's easy for people (including the band) to say something wasn't good, decades later. At the time, this was exactly the type of music I loved, I played this to death, and I was far from alone in that opinion. Sure they evolved, so did we, but I still love this so much, it still makes me feel the way it did then. Thank you, as always. ❤

I got all these old albums years ago. Love them. It's a pity so many people don't know how great INXS has been from the beginning. Favorite three: Just Keep Walking, Doctor, and Jumping.

As I have posted many times, I love early INXS! I am not sure why, except it was a musical gem I found long before they became superstars. Everything that makes them "the best live band in the world", was there from the beginning. As you progress through the years, you can hear how they came to the final sound a very organic process. You get to hear how they really meshed everything and define a genre. I hear a lot of criticism of Michaels lyrics that they are meaning less and vague, without meaning. I think, those people do not understand poetry at its best. He wrote timeless ambiguous lyrics that stand the test of time, with out dating them. They are so "ambiguous" that (even the ones explicitly about sex) that they can apply to so much. These lyrics can be dropped into any song past or present and they will contextually make sense. That is a skill that few can accomplish. And there is no need to discuss the voice or musical abilities of this group of teenagers and young adults on their first album. It was outstanding.

I really love INXS, especially their earlier music. On another note, I hope you will do the Listen Without Predjudice ( George M) album reaction. It is epic.

I adore INXS however their first album isn't their greatest moment. 'Simple Simon' has a great frantic energy and 'Just Keep Walking' was a mild chart hit in Australia but overall, the first and second album is really INXS finding their feet before they really hit the mark with 'Shabooh Shoobah'.

Ohhh! Baby INXS! I'm so glad you were able to get to this! Does this mean perhaps you will be going in order through all the older albums? I pretty much lived and breathed every record INXS put out. I'm having a nostalgia moment for sure, but I actually still listen to all of these songs regularly. I will tell ya what tho, when we first heard INXS back in the day, it was immediately clear that this band had their own sound and vibe. Even though they changed and grew through the decade, they always were distinctly INXS.
