INXS at their BEST. This compilation would have been perfect if it included "TO LOOK AT YOU".

I remember the first time I saw them on Countdown doing Just Keep Walking. I was blown away. I said to myself these guys will be huge.

I haven't ever heard this before, and he looks 12 years old and I can't believe he can sing that fast!!! He was and still is a very talented person and singing this crazy song, I had no clue about this song and with him singing it made it awesome, he could make anything awesome, wish he was still here 💔😭Thanks for showing me something new that I didn't no existed, but he made it awesome.

The one thing is my favorite but of course all these songs are great.

And so it began... and sadly ended. Still lovin them in 2020 even with all the shit that's going on in this world right now. Michael you are not missing much. Believe it.

Having seen INXS so many times in the US and a fan since the very beginning... seeing these performances makes me love and appreciate Michael and the guys even more. Amazing lyrics .. just heard “Dancing of the Jetty” and the words ring true in 2020. This is oddly comforting.

From Simple Simon to Don’t Change there’s a discernible evolution from quirky post punk bar band to full power arena rockers. They went on to become fully fledged stadium superstars. I still have a soft spot for some of the early stuff. Just a great band.

The song One Thing and Don't Change were the first songs I heard and videos I seen of them on the TV when they released them. As soon as I heard and seen them for the first time they instantly became my favorite band even still are now in 2022. When I visited all my Mother's side of the Family. My Grandmother, Cousins, Aunts and Uncles in Australia back then, my Cousins were just at one of their performances in a pub a few days prior to my arrival. They told me all about it and I was like "damn it! If I only came here to Australia a few days ago I would've joined them!" That would've been so awesome to see them in their home land!

Lucky everyone who followed them from the early days. I also believe they were a little more popular earlier in Hong Kong where I lived early ‘80’s I knew of them before they were super famous and Michael lived there.

You can totally hear the aussie accent in these earlier songs. Have to say I don't care for the early music. Live Baby Live was the first concert on TV that I saw and fell in love. Been on KZread daily for a month now listening to everything I can find. So sad about Michael.

I wouldn't defend INXS's first two albums - so I am on board with what you say about their early music. However, there was a lot of potential and good moments on those first two albums, but as Andrew Farris said - a lot of it sounds like kids' music. I will defend ''Just Keep Walking'', ''Stay Young'' and ''The Loved One" (a cover of an old 60's Aussie song), as those songs not only encapsulate early INXS but also encapulate the Australian music environment of that time period. Those three singles are just as good as any other New Wave-Post-Punk pop songs of that period. ''Just Keep Walking'' is to Sydney what Grandmaster Flash's ''The Message'' is to New York. I remember the blood and glass, and having to just keep walking even when dickheads wanted to beat me up. Anyway, sorry about the rant... I just thought some early INXS songs needed a bit of love from an old Aussie fan. As far as detecting the Aussie accent, INXS were taking a lot of cues from the New Zealand band Mi-Sex, who were a very popular band in Australia at the time. I doubt INXS were trying to sound Kiwi, but they were leaning on the sound of a Kiwi band.

A little known fact but interestingly enough: It was after recording their first two albums, the self titled INXS and Underneath the Colours that Michael told the band that he didn't think he was good enough to front the band and that they should look for a new singer. He felt like he was holding them back. The band wasn't about to hear any of that nonsense! They encouraged him to stay. It was after recording their third album Shabooh Shoobah that Hutch found his comfort zone and...the rest is history.

As a kid growing up in Sydney in the 70's and early 80's, ''Just Keep Walking'' sort of turns my stomach. The song was a little too close to the bone, as I was living a life of blood and glass and having to fight back. No Michael, if I just kept walking, I'd get arse kicked...
