Can parents protect kidfluencers from predators online? | Four Corners

Encouraged by their parents, they’re filling our feeds, vying to be the next big thing. But can children ever really consent? And who’s watching?

But there’s a darker side to this new and vastly unregulated world.
Four Corners investigates an online platform where potential predators can pay for photos of children, and looks at what tech companies - including owner of Instagram, Meta - what they’re doing to keep young people safe.

Parents, let kids be kids. There’s plenty of time for their careers. Money is not everything.

I don’t understand why any adult would follow a child’s social media account. Nor do I understand why parents create these accounts for their children. There should be no social accounts for minors, or featuring minors. They are incapable of informed consent. Let children be children, and let them socialise with each other in the real world, not online.
