yes I risked my main account like a fool but I also did this on my phone where I don't have discord automatically opens Google so they can't get my cookies to get passwords and I had a 2fa that updates randomly

I honestly don't feel bad if somebody falls for a scam that specifically puts the world "cheese pizza" on their link, like come on now, I understand some children could fall for it, but it's mostly creeps.

i had something similar, someone from a server dm'd me saying they reported my account to discord on accident cus they mixed up my username with someone else, n that my account could be suspended. i had a feeling it was a scam but id never seen anything like that before, i asked them what to do n they said i should dm a discord staff member. at this point i knew it was a scam but i just wanted to mess with the "staff member" so i dm'd them n they told me to change the email on my account to their email so they could protect my account

They used some fake accounts with ex-steam employees to try making me give them my Steam information and steal my account 😂

I had a friend who fell for it. I knew it was a scam instantly. I simply said "sorry you lost your account" then i unfriended and blocked them, but i left the dm open. Shortly after that, the scam messages were deleted.

I had two friends fall for the horni scam in the span of a week. I understand that anyone can be scammed, and I don't see myself above them... BUT LIKE CMON they are both like 19/20 years old who have been on the internet for ages, not 12 year olds with daddy's credit card

The only time I contacted Roblox Support, it was fine. I was needing to reset my pin, because I forgot it, they asked for receipt of buying Robux, I gave it them, and they did remove it.

Funny how I see this, and throughout April 1-2, I had to deal with a friend who had that exact hack. He wasn't even online, he was on holiday. Absolutely clueless. Luckily it was sorted. Showed him this video and he literally said "bit late for that now"

This happened to me on discord, steam and instagram by the same person and I had the fake discord report scam from another. Thankfully I’m a consistent NTTS viewer (chronically online and use this hunky candaian to fill the void where friends should be) and knew what the signs are

I've been getting scams of "artists" trying to sell commissions. When I look at their portfolios I see a bunch of stolen art. Like... They're not even trying.

I’m thankful someone’s actually decided to update people on the issue, as yesterday I saw a message in one of my discord servers that I’m in, and someone actually wrote a lengthy paragraph, telling people to avoid and delete a friend request sent by a specific user, who is an apparent hacker/r**ist. Thank you for outlining this issue to help others as well.

Holy.. FINALLY you made a video on this, I got this scam 18 days ago from a friend (hacked) and he sent me those kinds of servers and tried to phish me so I blocked him. I'm glad that I was a few steps ahead

One of my friends got scammed a few weeks ago and the scammers were DM that account's friend list, stating that he needed help cause he accidentally reported you for scamming or some bs like that, and he told you to add a so called "discord developer" to explain the situation so you didn't lose your account due to the report.

Crazy that my friend got hacked by that obvious scam

Today, I saw a Steam scam in the server. The server promptly banned the person who sent the link. I was able to see deleted messages because of vencord. I initially said, Let's click it, but when I saw that he got banned, I immediately said, No, no, no, you do not click it. Thanks for helping, man. 🙂

There's also a handful that aren't just bots but are also actual people talking to co-erce you into following the scam There's been a handful I've picked up on, but it's usually 1 of 2: - Someone "reported" your steam or discord account and they want you to click a link to a form or just some random link in general. This is just straight up false - Someone is wanting to playtest a game. This CAN be legitimate, however a safe way to do this is with steam, as they have a system where you can play someone's game from their pc. So if they don't negotiate a place to play, or send you a stupid link, it's probably a scam

I thought it was the scam where one of your friends gets hacked and starts talking to you with always a similar message like "Oh uhhh I think I reported you because I thought you were a scammer. I told all my friends to report you, I then realized I was wrong but it was too late.". Then seems like they tell you that if you want help to not get your account "banned" they refer you to some shady guy that asks for your info and possibly that's how they get you. Not sure how it works but I hope you look into it!

I still try to understand what is the purpose of these scams of stealing accounts. All they do is steal the account, but gain nothing.

Thats a really interesting video! This happend to a friend recently and he spammed exactly a message like that to all of his servers, friends and group chats. Thankfully he reacted fast, locked down everything and mass deleted all of these messages. Hope that this was a wakeup call for him to not just click random links or to download any weird softwares xD

Honestly amazing video. Although I'm cautious enough to not even get to the point of going to untrustworthy website/websites that leave discord, not ever log in with a browser instead of the official app, the fake popup unless you start to question it is actually fairly convincing at first look. Also, although I'm not specialized in internet security, as a programmer I did have to go through all the basics of internet security, and you included what most Videos of these types fail to mention, and that's the markdowns and url shortener. I don't know why, but so few people do their homework to mention that even tho it's like the number one things used to hide a malicious website. And not only did you do your homework, you definitely went above and beyond showing both the most common and more advanced scams, many of which I never knew about, in large cause I don't click links that I don't 1000% trust and crosschecked, but it's very useful to know regardless to what extent people try to hide it once you land on a scam website.

Then the bots would spam me and autojoin me to risky discord servers that i didnt ever want to join. Every server needed 5 invites or a payment of 20 bucks to join. Dont fall for a discord bot. I don't get these messages often, about once a year from people I rarely talk to, but I do remember that two years ago there was a really successful link among a lot of my friends. The message was basically "i cant believe you sent those messages to that girl- idk if i can be friends with you after this," and saying a bunch of stuff like that. I nearly fell for it, but noticed it was a scam when three of my friends sent it to me at once. Honestly, it's not just the NSFW servers that catch people out, it's these kinds of scams too. I revently got scammed like this but it was my frnd asking me to download a game to play with him but actually was the scammer but thanks to discord support got it back within a month he tried messaging people with nitro so he can ask for money and steal credit card data etc.
