Lost in Space: Season 1, Episode 8
Macabre aliens -- quite literally talking heads -- need a humanoid brain to replace a worn out computer in their spaceship. They capture Smith, but quickly realize that his brain is unsatisfactory. The aliens release Smith so that he can bring them somebody more suitable: "a small Robinson."

How I wish John Williams had been commissioned to write an original score to this superb episode, given its “Outer Limits” like tone. It would have elevated an already great episode to even further heights.
These aliens used to scare me to death and the sound effects are absolutely first class and the spaceship looks like a giant eyeball

Yes. I always thought it looked like an eyeball in an egg cup.
Very unique and imaginative space ship!

The design is very reminiscent of the vintage 1960's paperback covers of that time.
This is the Lost In Space I fell in love with!
I watched this episode on TV when it first aired. By far the creepiest and scariest ever to my 11 year old eyes. One of the best if not the best LIS stories ever. The aliens and their weird spaceship were outstanding!
Imaginative scripts that are brilliant.

Yes this was a gem of a script written by Shimon Wincelberg. Along with great scripts by Barney Slater and Carey Wilber, these were far better scripts than those of the infamous second season.
My favourite "Lost in Space" episode! 🛸
The staging of the scenes and filming of Lost In Space is truly masterfully done... I recently realized this is one of the reasons why the series is so enjoyable. It's visually, superbly crafted.
The first hostile aliens in Season 1. Dr. Smith really sunk low on this episode sacrificing Will and tricking him into going to the Alien Ship just to save his skin.
Back in the day mid 1970s this was a scary episode. For me. The craft is unusual looking very surreal. It suited the SciFi theme very well for the series. The best of Season 1.👽👍
When I was younger every single second of this episode opened up a floodgate of hysterical panic and fear inside me for the next few nights, which made my mother stop me from watching any further shows. She just couldn’t calm me down, I was never the same..! Those Aliens turned my nerves to shreds…🥺
A chillin episode... Wanting Willl's brain !!!!!
Aliens look like from the tv show The Outer limits.
One of the ALL TIME best episodes... Loved the robot attack sequence...true sci Fi !
One of the all-time best alien landing and close encounter scenes! Ever since I first watched this episode as a little kid, that space vessel has always held the award for being one of the most unusual and imaginative!. This episode was from the series' Prime Cut era! 🙂
Smith's first use of "Oh, the pain...the pain!"
That ship is like the Tardis or vica versa.
That blip always looks the same to me.😂
VERY INTERESTING AND GOOD SOUND EFFECTS
Great episode and a nice, albeit brief return to the Dr. Smith we saw in the 1st few eps of the 1st season.
Love this one and the sounds too!
A fantastic clip! Thanks!
I never understood why all the aliens had to be sinister. One would think that advanced scientific development would have generated more empathetic and rational beings who had reasonable intentions for their exploration of space. Like Klaatu in The Day The Earth Stood Still.
This was before they turned doctor smith into a cowardly troublemaker
I should had my nephews watch the original Lost in Space with me when they were young. I don't have kids. I think they would have liked it? Has anyone watched with your kids as of today?
The alien craft looks a little h r giegerish

Judy: Mom. Mom? MOM! Maureen: What is it, dear? Judy: Look! Maureen: Well, that's odd. I've never seen a blip shaped like THAT on the screen before, have you? Judy: No. What do you suppose it could be? Maureen: Oh, it's probably a malfunction in the scanner. Don? Don: Yeah? Maureen: Can you come here a minute? Don: Just a second. Maureen: No, right now! Don: What is it? Maureen: W-well, look at this scanner. Don: What's wrong with it? Maureen: Well, I think it's acting up again. Maj. Don West: Oh, no. I just checked it out this morning. What's wrong with it? Judy: It's gone, just now! Don: What's gone? Judy: The strange spot. Don: Uh... you sure you haven't been seeing spots in front of your eyes? Maureen: No. No, really, it was right... right there. We both saw it. Well, for a minute, anyway. Don: Well, there's nothing there now and, besides, if it were a blip it couldn't just disappear. It would have to fly off somewhere, right? Maureen: Well, I-I guess maybe our eyes WERE playing tricks on us.
oh.. i love lost in space alot! except for the stupid ones. the jupiter in flight landing and taking off with that wonderful engine sounds were my favorite ones they were really realistic! then they blew it with the stupid monsters and the dumb dr smith episodes. i didnt like the ones when they were on the planets. they were horrible.. the only good episode on the ground was the antimatter man. im 63 and im sure alot of you guys agree. they could have done alot better with the planet ones. espically the carrot episode it should have never aired.. cheers

By the planet ones, are you referring to the Third Season where they are traveling through space to different worlds instead of being marooned on one planet throughout an entire season? The producers probably did that to compete with STAR TREK. However, by this time, LIS was venturing too far into the Camp Ground. The series' Prime Cut was the earlier half of the First Season when quality black & white episodes like the one in this video were being shown. 🙂
Podría ser traducida al Español? 😢
