Thank you for being "real." I have flitted in and out of the witchy world but never felt comfortable with labels or trying to mimic other's practices. Funny thing, I've always hated cooking from a recipe. I don't like to be told how to do something,I guess. That's how I feel about witchcraft. I just want to find words, and sounds, and tastes, and smells, and items that speak to my inner being and use those in a way that I feel personally led. I am strongly attracted to the moon, it's almost a relationship. And it didn't start out with witchy intentions. It just naturally happened as I left work each evening and it was dark I would look up to see if the moon was there. It made me feel safe and I would thank it for sharing its light with me. So, not even sure I could call myself a witch, but your coven sounds kind and lovely...

I also was raised in a Christian home but was always in love with nature, celtic history, and magick...oddly enough i think Tolkien literature was the beginning for me...and it was what started my feeling about trees and runes and bigger picture sacredness...and my father instilled love of mystery in nature like the fae...as i got older i realized that some of this is real and true and sacred and goes beyond mythology and entertainment and is a way of celebrating creator/spirit/mother Gaia and nature and magick. ❤

Just found your podcast! I want to thank you for the section on (No Children) ❤ I have struggled with infertility & -no longer can have children. It broke me- still have days of deep depression. I just asked the goddess for help. I prayed to her to stop feeling so broken. Just coming across this section of your podcast helped me so much. Seeing woman my age so free & happy without being fulfilled by having biological little ones at their side… made me feel whole again in myself for some reason? I always have been powerfully maternal. I’ll use this gift in a new light after listening to you ladies. No energy has been wasted- in essence that was the key to my pain I felt. Not being seen as a mother. But I am- to my community & nature. I see this now. I truly love you ladies. ❤Goddess be with you and bless. Xo Mandy moon

I'm so glad I came across you ladies! I'm a beginner, and I noticed that there's such celebration of being a mother. It makes me feel less than because I haven't had children of my own. I am also in my late 30s too so my heat breaks because I haven't experienced that in my life and now, I don't feel like I want to birth a child anymore. Thanks to one of you who mentioned still being motherly even if you haven't had kids. That's me! I feel like a mother in other ways. It was refreshing to hear someone say that.

I am pretty new to this, just started an active journey last Sept. but I know without a doubt I’ve always been a witch. And yes, it started in childhood with seeing visions and spirits and being discouraged & told lies that it wasn’t real, I was wrong. So there’s where the doubting myself began. I was weird. I was the weird one in my entire family (I thought then). So I carried on like children are “supposed to”. Then in high school, I became best friends with someone whose mother read tarot. People came to her, secretly. I was sooooooo intrigued❗️. Also I wanted, desired, to spend time at their house because it felt so good. They had old everything. My attraction to old furniture & things started in elementary school when my class would go to a certain museum every year. I’d be mesmerized by this one display that had the old primitives and I’d stand and stare with a KNOWING that I’d been alive during that time. So, the first time I entered my friends house, I felt like I was home. Then I met another teacher at 19, but my life took a turn into the darkness of addiction for quite a few years. Once that was over, I then met more and more people and the most impactful was being introduced to indigenous (N. American) spiritual practices. Again, I felt at home. And believe me, witchcraft practice and indigenous practices are so, so closely related❗️. And that led me to the present today, when I told you all my whole story‼️. I apologize. Discovering your podcasts has been a gift bc I live a very isolated life. I have to edit who I share with. Thank goodness, 2 of my 3 children, husband and some friends get it. Thank you for all 3 of you. 🦋🦋🦋🦋

What a nice episode to start off with! 😁I've been atheist all my life, but discovered "witchcraft" as a umbrella term of practices last year and I've been back-and-forth about starting down that path myself. I do like that some practices appear to align nicely with the values and rituals I developed following a therapeutic journey I started in my early 20s following a rough patch in my mental and physical health. I appreciated how you all touched upon some of the interwoven topics of wellbeing, community, misinformation, and research, so I look forward to seeing what else you talk about in this podcast! 👍

If you ever come back, you have to visit Manitou Springs (if you haven't already).. it's the most witchy, magical town in the state. The Church of Witchcraft is HQ in Colorado Springs. :)

re: 10:35 I can relate. I see so many similarities between theatre practice and witchcraft practice. I grew up doing theatre and found witchcraft to be something that synthesized many of my interests. I came to it as an adult after experiencing multiple deaths in my life and needed a way to stay connected to them but also to myself. Your coven sounds lovely.

As a baby witch who started practiceing like maybe about a month ago just listening to this episode alone made me feel so comfortable with calling myself a witch. Also it is really reasureing to see that I don't have to figure out everything all at once like what type of witch am I? Or, what type of spellwork do I specifically wanna focus on? In short this podcast really did wonders for me so quickly in just a single episode. I will deffinitely be sticking around🖤
