    Thank you for this video, it is really helpful. Question - if the OSS converts to HVDC, does the ONSS need reactive power compensation?

    You're welcome! Good question. I'm actually not sure on that one but I suspect the answer is no because dc wont have a power factor. However a HVDC link obviously requires a lot of additional equipment such as rectifiers, filters and inverters.
