Introduction to Lithic Analysis | Lecture # 03 | SCHG_FOC21_ILA | Macroscopic Analysis

Lecture 3 in the free online course of "Introduction to Lithic Analysis".
In this video, mentor Ms. Lauren Lien discusses the macroscopic analysis of cores, flaks, and bifaces.
Next Week: We will discuss about Stone Tool Technologies (Lower Palaeolithic, Middle Palaeolithic, and Upper Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic).

this is pretty close to what i am looking for. I like how you showed the different kinds of variations for striking platforms. My final projects for lithics involves spacial analysis for a site of black/grey/misc. chert by which i must identify complete, or non-complete artifacts. They are all chert stones but some of them are too small such as pieces of shatter to classify as a flake. None of them are tools but several of them are missing proximal, medial, or distal ends. I have trouble telling the difference between some smaller flakes that have no distinct ripples but have a punctiform platform. My biggest problem is mistaking a punctiform platform as being non-proximal, or a piece of angular debris as being a medial portion. Possibly another lecture could identify these schemes of identification.
