Ғылым және технология

Fifth video lecture in the free online course of "Introduction to Archaeological Illustration".
In this video, Ms. Emile Nelson discusses the differences between "good" and "bad" stratigraphic drawings. Good drawings are simple, clear, balanced, neat, tidy, creative, and highlight important information such as layers. On the other hand, bad drawings are cluttered, inaccurate, unclear, and missing important information.
She also talks about the most important elements of a stratigraphic site map or plan. These include layers, artefacts, objects, depth, and anything out of the ordinary such as anomalies within the layers. She also mentions the Harris Matrix, which can be used when layers are not as neat as desired.
She demonstrates how to draw a stratigraphic site map or plan by considering scale and using a style key for all the different codes of layers.
Terms Discussed: Stratigraphy, good stratigraphic drawings, bad stratigraphic drawings, most important elements of stratigraphic site map/plan, key elements and features of stratigraphic site map, Harris Matrix, simple, clear, balanced, line weight, tone, shading, neatness, tidiness, creativity, highlights important information, layers, cluttered, inaccurate, unclear, important information missing.
