Introduction to Analog and Digital Communication | The Basic Block Diagram of Communication System
Ғылым және технология
This is the introductory video on Analog and Digital Communication. In this video, the block diagram of the communication system, as well as some of the terminologies often used in communication engineering, is discussed.
What is Communication?
Communication is the exchange of information between the two or more points.
Electronics point of view, it is the exchange of information using the electronic device or gadget between two or more points which can be far away from each other.
The Basic Block diagram of the Communication System:
The communication system contains the following basic blocks:
1) The Source
2) Input Transducer
3) Transmitter
4) Channel
5) Receiver
6) Output Transducer
Source:
The source is the origin from where the message signal is generated.
The message could be voice signal, email, Television Signal, or data.
Input Transducer:
Using the input transducer, the message signal is converted into the electrical signal.
Transmitter:
The transmitter signal modifies the input signal for efficient transmission.
The transmitter may contain several sub-systems like modulator, analog to digital converter, encoder, amplifier etc.
Channel:
The channel is the medium over which the transmitted signal is transmitted.
The channel could be physical channel (e.g optical fiber, co-axial cable) or wireless channel (radio link)
The channel partly behaves like a filter and, attenuates and distorts the transmitted signal.
The receiver:
For faithful communication, the receiver should be able to recover the message signal from the received (distorted and attenuated) signal.
The receiver also contains several subsystems like, demodulator, decoder, digital to analog converter, amplifier.
Output Transducer:
The output of the receiver is given to the output transducer. Speaker, monitor screen are examples of the output transducer.
This video will be helpful to everyone in understanding the basic block diagram of the communication system.

Bro... You are doing social service (I don't think is there any better social service than giving free education/Knowledge). Now I am thinking if there is at least one teacher in my studies like you, I could have been in better position than at present. I just can't say thanks because Thanks is a very small word for the help which you are doing.

I really want to know that in transmission section we do modulation and we turn the signal into modulating signal but again y we will demodulate in receiver section and why we will amplify it again plz answer this question
@ALLABOUTELECTRONICS
Жыл бұрын
At the receiver end, to recover our message signal back, we used to demodulate the received signal. Also during the transmission, the signal will get attenuated. So, after the demodulation, once again the signal is amplified. For more information, please check the video on modulation. Your doubts will get clear. kzread.info/dash/bejne/n3yquMGNppuudLQ.html

That's what I am going to do. But I feel some basics of Fourier Series and Fourier Transform is important to understand the modulation. So, I am covering basics of Fourier Series and Fourier Transform first. Just couple of videos on that, and then will cover the main topics of communication.

I want to ask, what is the difference between analog and digital communication?
@ALLABOUTELECTRONICS
Жыл бұрын
In the analog communication, the signal which we are transmitting is in the analog form. In the digital communication, the signal is in the form of 1s and 0s.

What is need for analog to analog conversion and digital to analog conversion and analog to digital conversion
@ALLABOUTELECTRONICS
4 жыл бұрын
The analog to digital conversion is required when the message is transmitted in the digital form. The digital signal has some advantages like noise immunity and it is possible to implement the error correction mechanism. (will talk about it in the future videos) So, when the message needs to be transmitted in the digital form, then using the analog to digital converter it is converted into the digital form, and at the receiver, to retrieve the original message (e.g voice signal), the digital signal is converted into the analog signal using the D/A converter. I hope it will clear your doubt.

Thank you sir.
i think dac is used at Tx frontend and adc is used at Rx frontend. you are telling opposite at 8.11
@ALLABOUTELECTRONICS
Жыл бұрын
For digital transmitting the data, analog signal is first converted to digital form using ADC, and on the receiver using DAC, it is converted into analog form .For example, in the voice call that we are doing now a days, the typical analog speech signal is first converted into digital signal using ADC and then it is modulated and transmitted and at the receiver after demodulation, using DAC it is converted into analog signal once again.
Sir why do we sampling
@ALLABOUTELECTRONICS
3 жыл бұрын
To convert the analog signal into digital domain. First we need to sample the signal at specific interval and then sampled value is converted into specific code using ADC. I hope it will clear your doubt.
