    So I just got 3DExperience up and running and found that not only does it have xDesign and xShape, but it has a full working Solidworks too. If I'm gonna spend hours on tutorials, where should I focus, the xDesign app. or solidworks? Are they both equally the same or is one better, more intuitive, easier to use than the other? I see their UI's are very different.

    They each have strengths in performing certain tasks. xShape is the most obvious and handles complex curvature and organic shapes really well. xDesign is optimized for new designs, where design constraints that are useful for defining a design are much more flexible and you can just about do whatever you want to the part. SOLIDWORKS is more optimized for production and is by far the most common tool in use in industry. This video might prove helpful: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gYGXsNKEiLSplM4.html

    Seriously considering 3DX as well. Do you have the "maker" or "home" version? Does that come with the full on Solidworks parametric package or is that only for the "business" versions?

    Check out the maker version: www.mlc-cad.com/3dexperience-solidworks-for-makers/ the packaging for that offering changes but if it says "SOLIDWORKS Connected" it will contain SOLIDWORKS parametric that you are used to but with a cloud-based file management system.

    Right now, our platform trainings are private/custom and not public offerings. Talk to us when adopting the platform and let’s create a success plan that is right for you! Part of the strategy of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and apps is that it is very intuitive, so check out our other webinars and tech tips for information on how to get started and you may find it requires less training than you might expect.

    @@MLCCADSystems Not very intuitive, I have see multiple videos and I still dont know if it would be good for me or if I would be better off with just the stand alone desktop software. The videos you and others have put out are probably great if you already know the software.

    It sounds like you may not need videos or training but a conversation about your specific needs and situation. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform is not for everyone, but it has many unique and powerful benefits. Reach out to your local Value-Added Reseller, and if you are near us we would love to talk to you! www.mlc-cad.com/contact-us/

    which cloud service do they use? is it their own cloud? or any other cloud environment? and if it can be installed on any 3rd party cloud providers like amazon or microsoft?

  • @MLCCADSystems

    It is their own cloud, purpose-built for this platform. If you are a very large company or have a specific need, such as air-gapped networks for military weapons systems, reach out to us to discuss your needs to see if special accommodations can be made. There is no option for installing on a 3rd party cloud platform.

    You'll want to reach out to SOLIDWORKS or Dassault Systemes directly, depending on your market they may be able to guide you. There are options to sync data but also limitations on API access. Good luck!

    Can I install solidworks cam in solidworks 2024 connected

  • @MLCCADSystems

    @MLCCADSystems

    4 ай бұрын

    No, SOLIDWORKS Connected does not support add-ins, including SOLIDWORKS CAM. There are CAM solutions on the platform, but they are not the same as SOLIDWORKS CAM.
