dude i was all up for making it stress-free when my cat went to our home for the first time but she strolled in like she owned the place .-.

Exactly the same with me. My cat was a 3 month old kitten when my wife and I brought him home, and in no time (approximately 10 minutes) he was strutting around the place like he'd never been away.

When I brought my cat home and let her out of the box she just sat down on my legs, wanted some cuddles and fell asleep soon 💗 Later she explored everything of course. But first some cuddles 😊

Our 16-year old cat died two months ago. I tried to see if no cats in the house would improve my home air quality and I found that having a cat around for company is in my DNA and I don't think I can go much longer without a cat.

I don't see cats as a great factor for changing air quality.
I got my shelter kitty Rori just as she turned 8. She hid in my closet the first day. But it wasn't private so she found my storage room. Which was perfect for her. I fixed it up and that was her place. It was the 3rd day she came out, when I sat down to watch t.v. And she ran and jumped up in my lap. Every night since that's her fav thing. She now has 6 other hidden little cat beds she likes. She doesn't meow, or climb up on anything. And she sleeps on my legs every night. I must be a sound sleeper
"Just let him explore, do his own thing" :D Isn't that always good advice for cats? Adorable little guy :)
🤣🤣🤣 he’s like this is my home what y’all talking about!?

When I got my first kitten, she hid under the couch. I didn't try to pull her out but simply had a string that I moved around the couch and she came out after an 10 minutes, and she got used to me. In the evening, she slept next to me on The couch. Took her another 2 days to not be afraid of my mum who did not spend time with her at all. So effort and loving encouragement goes a long way with kitties :)
I’m actually going to go to the human society and look for a kitty today and this video was SUPER helpful! Thank you!

I wish I knew this earlier. I adopted beautiful cat yesterday, and immediately he went under heavy living room couch. Spent hours there. My mom and I dragged him out, and he hid inside popup pillow for a while, then in the middle of the night ran under the couch again. Has not left since! He is alive, as I peaked under.

I adopted a new cat 🐈 and he was so scared it's. Been 9 months now he is so much used to me and my son adopting him is the best thing I ever did
Great video thanks! Jax is adorable
I recently adopted a kitten, and was given pretty much this exact same advice. I was lucky as it only took a few days for my kitten to settle in.
Great video, awesome tips! Thanks! Treats for Jax!!
THANK YOU!! I just got my first cat and this was so reassuring

very informative! loved it!
Just came back from the humane society in my town. Tomorrow I bring home my first cat. I'm really nervous and excited, thanks for making such a fun and simple video about the process! :)
Thats a beautiful cat
My parents are adopting two cats named Hinge and Yoda. Very excited, as we lost our cat Chloe almost two years ago. I wanted to watch this to help them be comfortable in my room if they ever want to come upstairs. I'm not putting a litterbox and food in my room but a few toys and enough space to lay around is nice. Thankfully they're both short haired and i'm not allergic!
im going to adopt a kitten that born in animal shelter soon. shes kind and playful. thanks for this video :)
Thanks a bunch! That helped a lot.

Just adopted a senior citizen tabby cat - he is 10 years old. I just opened his kennel and like you said, he just ran straight under my bed. I left him food, water, a litter-box and a bed. Hopefully I can earn his trust, thankfully my computer is in my room aswell so I can do research about this while he's under my bed.
This is an awesome video!
Thank you, I’m getting a cat this year😀

Thank you so much for this helpful video! I would NOT need it, but I'm certain there are those who do! Bless all those who take good care of cats.
This was helpful! I just adopted my first cat and shes a super shy 4 year old tortoiseshell. Shes been hiding in her carrier the entire time so im picking out a name while i try to give her some space
When we got a new cat or cats (twice during my childhood, and twice during my adulthood) we just put him down as soon as we got him home, showed him where the food and litter box was, and let him explore on his own for a while. We never set up a separate room for them. I never heard of doing that until now. My cats were a little skittish at first, but they settled in nicely after a day or two, no separation needed. When we moved to a new house our cat was a little spooked at first, she spent the first day hiding in a closet, but she was fine after that. Cats adapt quickly. Again, we didn't set up a different room for her when we moved, she had already been living with us for 3 years.
I’m going to get my 3rd rescue today.. she’s a 1 yr old that was found with 3 tiny babies and a shoulder broke in 3 places... I’ve got 2 other rescues.. 1 is old n only wants to be left alone.. n then there’s the baby.. found her tiny 6 months ago... I’m so excited I have my bedroom ready for her n it will be a slow introduction.. got 2 old dogs to that love cats so no issues there .. but they will all know a new kitty will be in moms room
Good info. Thanks!
AWWW i hope he got adopted feel bad this is five years ago he is a beautiful ginger cat...am sure if I've wanted him someone will take him...
Just got a cat from a shelter today. He is 8 months old. Quite big cat. He is hiding currently, as everything is new to him XD Placed a big paper bag on the floor if he wants to play, also placed fresh water and chunks. Hope he likes the place!
When you transport a carrier or a box in your car ALWAYS attach the handle to a seat belt.
Gr8 video !
He's so cute

"This cat works right out of the box" :)
my cat was just like roaming around once i put her down and literally felt comfortable already..
I am adopting a cat tomorrow. I was wondering how long I should keep the cat in its "comfort space?" Should I keep the door closed?
I'm picking up my new kitten blossom Tuesday she's a couple weeks of months old she's SO FLUFFY
Well my tomcat clawed his way out of the cardboard box and ended up sleeping on my lap when I was driving home after adopting him.
Got my kitten yesterday and she just laid down and chilled. And we put her in her little house but it was 2 am and she was asleep on me lol
i usually start of with putting them in the litterbox right away and let them roam as they like from there so they know where to pee and poop.
I think my brother is getting a cat for me in May! (SATs are tests if you're not sure.)
Thanks for sharing! :)
I'm getting tomorrow and I was wondering is it possible to put the food on a vertical space so the dogs in my home can't eat it

I've adopted a kitten today he's only been introduced to one room and has only been in his crate and under my bed he's used the litter box but not yet eaten or drank water I'm trying to let him do things on his own but what do I do if he still won't eat or drink

Same thing as mine now... I just bought an exotic shorthair... he drank a little water but he won’t eat and he hides under the bed. He’s in my guest room and ima jus leave him in there until he ready to come out. He meows a lot too when he’s alone in there but I go check on him and pet him
I have re-homed 6 stray/feral cats with no problems. Now this 7th stray doesn’t like ANYONE but me. I can’t keep her though. I’m trying the third home today. Wish me luck. The last two homes she just hid under the couch, hissed and tried to scratch the people for two weeks. The both asked me to come get her. With me she is all cuddles and purring. She is like two different cats.
So if I let my new cat chill in my room what do I do if I want to move everything to the living room for example moving the litter box to the bathroom and food bowls to the kitchen
Jack is beautiful.
Do you have the instructions on how to build that cat tower thingy with the PVC pipe? I would love to put one like that together for my cats.
I have just adopted a two-month old male barn kitten. Do you have any seggustions on taking care of it for the first few weeks?
would this method also work for moving home? by sticking the cat in a room with all the stuff its already used to ( like scratch posts/cat trees and beds and stuff )and then once its used to that room allowing it to explore the rest of the new home. ?
I have a question. I just rescued a 7 yr old rehomed kitty. She’s very sweet and I want to start off on the right paw. Is there a video that gives an example of how to set up a routine that includes mealtimes, play time, potty time (?), bedtime? I have a willing kitty but don’t know how to train her. Please help.Thank you!
THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE MY NEW CAT winchester
I'm watching this cuz I'm getting a kitten then all the sudden my other cat jumps in front of my iPod XD
I’m moving from a house with a yard to an apartment with a small balcony with my two babies.. they are 7 and 5. Very playful and love outdoor. Plz help. Are there gonna be lots of fights?! Should I put them in separate rooms after the move? Or they feel more comfortable together ?! Right now they have lots of independence and space! I don’t know if they’ll be as friendly in a smaller place. I really tried but this was the best place I found and I MUST move. So sad.. plz help I know the basics of course.. I am making window porches and preparing lots a plants . Trying to make a small yard in the balcony. It’s on 2nd floor. How I wish it was 1st!! Anyway.. plz tell me it will be easy!!!!
First day with our new 7 year old cat named Batman. My daughter was carrying her and I think she wanted down so she bit her and walked away from the rest of us. She's now behind the toilet in the half bathroom lol. I placed her litter box in there. I looked online about the kind of beds cats like so I made her card board box bed with a blanket inside.
just brought home my first kitten. shes hiding under the bed right now!!! havent even picked her name yet..

@@thescene7147 Hey! It's been about 2 weeks with our little baby now and she has completely warmed up and began loving my fiance and I about 4 days into having her! She kneads on both of us in the morning to wake us up and isn't shy to invite herself into bed with us every night. Didn't take her very long to warm up to us after I offered to my hand under the bed to pet her about 4 hours after bringing her home for the first time. Would love to hear an update about your little girl and how introducing yourself went!
Great video
When we moved one of our cats was terrified. Didn't eat or move. So I sat with my cat for a couple hours and then he was fine
We adopted two cats over a week ago. The female stopped hiding after 3 days and is socialising with us. The male cat we have only seen three times as he is in hiding and runs off if we see him. We are feeding him under the couch where he hides. We so want to meet him but we know this could take a long time the home told us.
thank you

What breed is the cat????????
He’s looking like really... this is the Shelter still
What happens when your cat stops eating from being in a new environment? How do you encourage them to eat?
I adopted a cat today,I messed up, I let the cat out of the carrier and I was kinda pushy when I let it out. The cat hid under the bed, behind the couch, and behind my toilet. I even pulled out the cat from under the bed. but thank you for this video, I’m just going to let the cat do it’s own thing
Wow nice managed 👍👍👍
It would have been great if I'd seen this video before I got my cat because he immediately shot out of pet carrier, and ran through his new home. He hid under the bed for about a week! I should have isolated him in a cozy little room.
So my calico cat i just adopted has attracted its self to my brothers bedroom and wont come out of his dresser will he come to the living room eventually i also have two dogs what can i do about this
omg that neck tho, its toby fox
When we get a baby kitten, and it's new at home, how to do the home safity to it? And how to teach it to don't put its nails on our wood furniture? Please answer! :)
I have two toddlers and a newborn and was thinking of using a baby gate to keep them out of the room but leaving the door open so the kitten can get used to them and how loud they can be. Is that a good idea or should I keep the door closed completely? I don't want to traumatize the poor thing!
I have a question I got a new cat and I'm kinda scared because I have lots of cords how do u stop a kitten from attacking cords? And I'm a first time cat owner so should I be watching my cat 247 like a puppy or can I sleep when I want to an eat shower normal?
can anyone inform me by the type of the cat in the video ?
