I guess sony is shell-shocked by samsung's durability and technical issues on their flagships that's why. To be precise on the screen and SoC. 6 gen1 and 7 gen1 are produced by samsung so you know the drill... They could have used a 778G instead, it's from the same age but a grade higher and are produced by TSMC. But they would have to redesign the whole board. I guess they are using the old platform to cut development costs. They managed to stuff forward firing stereo speakers and a bigger main camera sensor afterall, almost out of thin air (at the cost of the slightly larger frame but overall weight is reduced).

specially since they used SD695 on the 10-4 🤦🏼‍♂️ so lazy from Sony. Wouldn't hesitate to buy it with a SD6 G1.

Having headphone jack (with DSEE to boot) and no notches is the big big win for me. I also just way prefer square-ish designs, along with the great battery life, real bonus appeal.

Sony smartphones are so good they have everything i want in my dream phone but I wish their upper mid range phones had a more powerful processor like snapdragon 7 gen 1, most of the competition offers flagship chipsets even in midrange phones. Aside from that A 1080p 120hz display and better auto mode for camera would make this phone very desirable for most people because even though they have one of the best smartphone camera tech unless you know to navigate through the complex set of options in the camera apps( which most people don't) you'll be stuck with mediocre photos taken on auto. AND another thing i hope Sony improves is availibilty of phones in market on time . I don't want to wait for 6 MONTHS after launch event to buy a phone , that's too long, 2-3 weeks is longest i can wait any longer than that i would consider some other options available. I hope sony will implement these requests.

@@SonyEuro Those are all very good points. For the love of God Sony......you sell your phones in so few countries that it's ridiculous. Then you release your phones so late compared to everyone else. And there is little marketing. How can people buy your phones Sony if 1) no one knows about them? 2) There is no way to buy them because they are not sold in their country and 3) They are more expensive than other phones. What is the point of making great phones Sony (and the Xperias are fantastic) if no one can buy them?

I recently bought this phone and i am impressed overall but bear in mind the phone does not have neither a notification Led or ambient display so when notifications arrive if you dont hear the sound you will simply not know. Also it does not have raise to wake so i had to install gravity screen which is a third party app

Sony is making a come back

I really wish this phone was just a little bit more performant. The battery life is a huge selling point, but the processor is barely an upgrade over my OnePlus Nord. And the Nord was released 3 years earlier, and cost less. It feels impossible to buy this phone with these specs.

But to maintain the same level of performance, especially with the numerous updates the chip has been getting. Also, as the rest of the device's specifications, don't need the upgraded chip. I bought the Sony Xperia 10 iii back in 2020, my first Sony phone, and i absolutely LOVED IT. It broke in a drop, so I bought the never version Sony Experia 10 V without hesitation, and o' boy i was stupid. The new version Xperia 10 V is HORRIBLE to use for me in comparison of the old one. Apparantly my fingers has gone fat, and i often can't seem to click the edges of the screen. The phone does not register my inputs and seems slow. The new square case instead of round edges was fine at first, but i f***** hate it now, it is not the same slick phone. I can keep on ranting. I have repaired the old phone and is using it again. Have the newer version as a backup clone... Edit: The speakers make the back vibrate too, annoying when holding it..

Omg same CPU with 10 IV? Sony keep going down. And for Sony lovers go for 10 IV instead. Cheaper and same phone . There is no upgrade. Only in 1 camera is not update ! They are kidding us

I was waiting this phone so long.. and in the end its the same soc like my 10iv.. and if u really listen to us the u know how problematic is this model.. slow, choppy, when get hot screen freez and need to be rebooted.. only good side was low battery usage.. thats all.. but u guys dont listen.. I would pay even 200euro more but wished to get better soc on this new model.. I hate my 10iv because of this issue. but I love sony, but its so sad being disapointed.. I will wait next model.. because I dont want to pass on other brands... very sad that nowday team sony is not the same Q.Q

Sony dropped the ball, they could easily introduce the lower price point with SD695 and retain same price with SD6 G1... SD695 is a laggy mess on all phones I tested.

It should cost not more than 300 Euro. 120Hz display, premium processor, a free pair of headphones, 7 years of updates and free parking for you for life! What is wrong with you? You want better fearures? Get the next model : 5V or 1V. The 10V is budget friendly, it works fast. It is perfect for communication, a picture now and then. The battery is really outstanding. The only real annoying thing is the video at max full HD 30fps. 60 would have been great and worthy for the device.

@@SonyEuro What do you mean you'd love to help? Where's the Sony shops? There's an apple shop in every city to serve you if you ever have problems with your iPhone. There's no Sony shops like that. There's only these silly Sony authorised repair centres who can't fix anything beyond a broken screen or MAYBE a broken charging port. For anything else, they all just say, sorry you gotta buy a new one.

@@SonyEuro I've got a Sony phone. I dropped it on the floor once and it just shut off. Not even a broken screen, nothing seemingly wrong with it, BUT it just won't work anymore. Won't turn on at all. Can you guess what the Sony authorised repair centre said about it? This lack of proper customer care makes many people very hesitant to buy a Sony phone and especially people like me who have already had such a negative experience and lost a lot of money from dropping the phone once, well I'm not buying another one am I? All I can do at this point is advise people against buying a Sony phone. Give me a replacement one for the one I have which broke so easily and make it free for me, then I will support Sony again and will recommend it to people. Otherwise forget it and I'll make sure to carry on advocating people against buying a Sony phone. They're just not good phones. Sorry, but it's true, and I have proof

I bought this phone one month after its release, my old Xperia XA2 Ultra is better. I only bought the 10 V because my reliable Xperia XA2 Ultra got broken, XA2 Ultra is wider and more comfortable to hold, the 10 V dont have a shutter button for the camera, the 21:9 aspect ratio is bad for watching videos, you cannot make it to fit the whole screen, also the refreash rate for the screen is bad, only 60hz, on my old XA2 Ultra the LED notification light is awesome, the 10V dont have, upon purchase there is no charger, no earphones, what the heck Sony, also the price its €449 in Germany, based on the specs the 10 V, its should only cost €250 to say the least..... By the way the chipset of 695 is not justifiable, you priced it so high only for us consumers to conclude that its only an updated version of 10 IV, the only thing that is good on this 10 V are the 3.5mm jack and the expandable memory storage and thats it!

I have snapdragon695 on my xperia10iv.. and tbh its suck.. I wanted to switch to 10v because thinked its will get faster soc.. sorry sony but this soc suck.. so slow, so choppy.. so easy overheat... deluded

It's a shame that even sony has removed the 3.5mm headphone jack and joined the rest of the gang.
