I think these are the first 5th gen taillights I actually like.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE.... that color of 4runner.... that military OD green! I can't afford it cause its still too new, but I have a 2016 Red Limited and super happy, but dang that color is the bomb diggity.

This is *exactly* what was missing from the 5th gen 4Runner options. I was looking months ago for a set that had the running light at the perimeter of the light and the nearest options had them fairly inset from the actual perimeter. I do wish they'd put some bigger brighter reverse lights in it, but it's good enough. I'll be watching for a promo code then snatching these up.

Good deal, can't wait for you to get a set. Add a Backup Light Boost Bar to your order for more reverse light output!

Instead of taking apart the whole hatch. Just run wires to trailer harness

Do the red strips on the lateral side of the vehicle light up or are they only for decoration? These are definitely VERY bright when viewed from behind.

So one thing that I did not see demonstrated. Since the turn signals and the brake lights occupied the same space on these lights. What does it look like and what does it do when both the brake light and turn are on at the same time? Does it cancel the brake light? Do they try to both show at the same time?

The brake light will default to the turn function when activated, they will not interfere with each other.

@@MorimotoLighting ...... So it's a slight step backwards because you lose a brake light when your turn signals on... Which is even worse for all the idiots that drive with their hazard lights on. Now you've disabled your main brake lights on a vehicle that by default has separate brake and turn lights.

So true. Not sure I like it. I got the Morimoto 1st gen tail lights for my 4Runner and truth be told, i don't like the oval brake lights either. But given that I blacked out my 4Runner, the 1st gen tail lights are the best option for me. These 2nd gen have too much red and the sequential amber stripes make me think more of a race car than an SUV. And I don't want my Toyota to look like a Ford, that's for sure.

Why ruin a good thing….why????

Looks neat! I am definitely considering these for my 23 4Runner Limited AWD in Magnetic Gray Metallic (purchased in mid-August). Hard to choose between the red and smoked finishes. Would like to know the torque specs for tightening those 10mm nuts on the taillight installation of these Morimotos. (2:30). I checked out the installation guide on your website and it did not list those torque specs.

Thank you. So, the torque specs were specifically what setting (lb ft)? I lack access to the actual OEM torque specs so while I appreciate the reply, it wasn’t specific enough to be helpful.

@@MorimotoLighting For me the reverse light is too high and aimed straight back. huge deadspot now where the bumper is. I don't want to install a light bar to see better.
