It's dangerous for birds to nibble human teeth because of mouth bacteria that are very dangerous to the bird. I assume it also applies to dogs.

It make me nervous with the dog feet paw might hurt the bird although supervise accident u never kno, I have my sun conure with 3 cats. Never let the cats come close.

Honestly I want bird advice from you, that's one of the nicest birds I ever saw. Also a gorgeous pup!

You should be pushing the dog away instead of taking the bird away when he gets to rough. Might not sound like a big deal but it's allowing him to think he owns the area and can do whatever he wants and will continue to chase the bird. Gotta manage his energy levels. Overall a pretty awesome interaction lol. The bird likes it inside his mouth LOL. Are they still friends?

The word, "NO!" should be used LOTS MORE with the puppy! Otherwise, he may assume bad behavior is acceptable! I was so nervous that I kept telling Dino to bite the puppy on the lip, the nose, somewhere...unbelievable!

HubbardTheGrey Well they have to introduce them at some point early on or else the animals will not learn to not hurt each other. If they are going to be in the same house living together than this is necessary for the birds survival and it’s better to have them be monitored together in their first meeting than to have never met and the dog get startled by the bird thus injuring it from never having met it.

Super cute but I was very nervous the whole time 😂 puppies tend to be rough players, and to them, birds and other small animals are a toy. She was being gentle for the most part, but those pounces easily could have went bad

Caigues are the only birds that I have seen roll over and play, even with a dog!😹

This video is giving me anxiety. It's nice to see them playing together, but a dog can be a bit too powerful.

This bird can live up to 40 years, please, dont let it die or get sick getting diseases from dog saliva.

Zoey is so adorable. The belly up bit is subservient to show that she is not a threat. What an adorable first meeting. Zoey did so well. She is so young, but a good gentle girl. Her partot sibling is a hoot. The two of them already 'get' each other and Dad's the outsider.

flossie Flossie, I'm very sorry for your situation; but, I understand. I'm so lonely all the time. KZread keeps me company & helps me pass the time. I find myself talking to these sweet animals (especially birds) all the time. I'm only 64 and feel 94 from all the time I'm alone. I hope you get well or better and can start doing things that you enjoy! Good luck & God bless you. 💜

Margie McPeak=Thank you so much for your kind words.There is a lot of bad stuff on the internet,I'm told- but I find that there is inspiration and kindness in equal measure too.I have never been comfortable sitting in front of a TV screen ,especially if it has adverts,which is why my laptop goes everywhere with me.It keeps me entertained,keeps my brain active, ensures I can buy what I need and have it delivered to my door and I'm in contact with family and friends.What more could woman want? The dog is normal. The bird behavior is what's stunning. The bird is confident, trusting, _trustworthy,_ and playful like no other.

That parrot really wants that toy! lol I think that's kinda what saves this dog a shredded nose lol the fun language of play!! The trust that both these creaturs have in their adopted dad speaks volumes really. Poor Zoey doesn't mean to bite, she just explores that way, and Dino is employing those feet like "back off!! my toy!!! lol This is going to be a fun lifetime lol

I own a parrot and im getting a puppy in around 2 months. Im no expert, but I think I would introduce the 2 by having 1 of them in a cage or crate, for example in a trainign session the puppy is in a crate and i let the parrot see the puppy and explore around. then next session I would put the parrot in the cage and have the puppy explore, sniffing at the cage etc. I would also make sure the dog is exercised before introducing them, this way he wont have a crazzy moment! it will take some time before they can meet each other out of their cages, but for a rule of thumb, i think its important to supervise them when they are both out or close to each other! I hope their relationship is still going strong!!! Been 2 years!!

lol I was pretty nervous myself that's why I stepped in a few times... They get along great now, always playing around the same way as in the video. They are always supervised though

I know most bird owners are oblivious to the dangers of other animals Thank you for at least supervising the first visit! I hope you will always supervise ALL interactions especially if your bird is clipped! cute babies and very well behaved....for the most part😊

Dog saliva, in some 60% of dogs, does carry Pasturella like that of cats, but there are other bacteria in a dog's mouth that will cause septicemia in birds.

So cute, so intelligent they are they never hurt each other, very gentle.

I think my caique would be just a tad bit meaner, but otherwise would be the same way meeting this really sweet dog :-)

I am always being surprised by how much different species can seem to regulate their play. Most puppies immediately jump on and bite other puppies but this one showed incredible restraint right from the start.

The parrot is actually just a dentist checking and cleaning the pup his teeth. The pup is not even biting, ... they just have only the mouth to see what that little coloured moving toy it is you put in front of him. I normally also warn the new dentist to bite him.

Interesting to watch, yes. But dogs have something in their saliva that is toxic to parrots. Never allow a parrot to touch or drink anything that a dog has put its mouth on. Same goes for cats.
