metasfresh - Free and Open Source ERP/CRM Cloud Platform
metasfresh is a scalable ERP/CRM platform for small to large-sized enterprises in industries with complex regulatory requirements, such as the food or pharmaceutical industry, but also in mechanical engineering, associations, renewable energies, construction, and many more.
The modern cloud architecture uses React as responsive web interface, a REST API, Postgres as database and can be installed with Docker or an Ubuntu installer.
The software metasfresh along with updates, documentation and test cases is fully licensed under the GPL.
There is only one single version - Enterprise - and this version is open source and does not contain any licensing fees.
We take “Enterprise” to mean the ability to change and individualize the entire appearance and behavior of metasfresh through code-free customizing. This includes that these changes remain stable through updates, which is especially important due to the weekly releases, which are voluntary and optional.
In addition to the software metasfresh, there is also a metasfresh community. Enterprise-quality contributions are generally welcome!
Also, contributors do not have to waive their rights, because metasfresh does not require a Contribution License Agreement. Thanks to the fact that every contributor keeps their rights, it will not be possible to change to a non-open source license in the future. You may call it a free forever guarantee.
The metasfresh community organizes themselves through the use of Github, Forum and Gitter. On Twitter, metasfresh is counting more than 15.000 followers.
What added value does metasfresh entail?
The real innovation is that the open source licensing provides a platform that brings along all the cloud benefits, but not the typical drawbacks - such as loss of control and vendor lock-in. The user retains full control over all aspects of their company's most important business application.
It is entirely up to them to decide on which server the system runs, how and where their company data are stored, which interfaces they want to operate, who has access to their system, who they want to appoint to make changes, or whether they want to set up their own IT resources.
And what’s best about this: If things change, they can just change their minds, too.
