Congrats on the release! The level of polish in gnome these days is insane. It puts commercial desktop environments to shame!

No it's not. I have used Gnome, Windows UI, Mac OS UI. All of them have something, but Gnome is not comparable to them in real world/work scenarios.
It is getting better and better every new Releas. I am one of the people who love the vanilla gnome experience and want nothing else. Keep it elegant, modern, fast and simple. Thanks to everyone involved! Congrats for Gnome 45
And you can get it as soon as possible with Fedora Workstation 39! Amazing work from the GNOME team! 🎉

Looking better and better with every release, thank you Gnome team/contributors!
Always a nice welcome when there is a new GNOME update. Slowly but surely we’re getting there. Hope the next update is about more under the hood, performance stuff. The changes here this time around are great for uniformity. Been using Loupe already and it’s better than Eye of GNOME, just wish it would stop displaying the UI when you go fullscreen with F11.
Congrats on another release! Huge thanks to all the contributors :)
i like gnome tbh.
Can’t wait for Fedora 39 with gnome 45. Thanks to all who got contributed to this release.
It's not for me (I use KDE Plasma), but I do like GNOME unified theme and cohesion! Well done!
Gnome keeps getting better and better.
Awesome video! The music was so good I barely paid attention to the features. There was a lot to love with GNOME when I was using it on Fedora recently. Very smooth experience!
Amazing work. The level of touch screen support in gnome is near perfect.
Awesome thing! But I cant express how much I hate these corporate sounding clap tracks as "music"

I hadn't used GNOME proper in 5 years up until recently but man, it is incredibly polished and beautiful now. I especially love that the upper left corner shows workspaces now.
I really love such concise and cool introduction! Congratulations for the new release!
YESSS, new Gnome! Thanks for making my OS awesome 🙂
windows mfs paying $100 for a desktop thats a fifth of the quality of gnome here gnome is great
Simply incredible, I have always used gnome and I like it more and more
Very nice! Congratulations on the release!
It's incredible to have an opensource desktop environment that compete with theses huges compagnies. The work is insane, i hope one day i'll have the talent to be able contribute to projects as importants as this one.

@gghost-2323 inunderstand that, i didn't know it was supportzd by redhat. I don't think the size of redhat is comparable to microsoft or apple. Also, they provide gnome for free, and open source. it's great seeing open source projects going the right way that's why i ceoebrate it.
Vanilla Gnome. Love it.
Thank you for this awesome desktop environment ❤
Like, so many say that this realese is not interesting but I noticed that this realese fixes my Wayland issues (it freeze a second everytime I open an app) and how fast it became. Never saw GNOME being so snappy and fast on my machine. Thank you!
I still prefer and will always use KDE, but just as happy to follow up on Gnome's progress and see it getting there! Still wish there was a better framework for things like desktop widgets and more basic functions and effects included by default, but all in all it's a good desktop.

I believe more efforts should be made in terms of making Gnome and KDE compatible with each -other, especially from the Gnome side of of things. Such that users could pick and choose which parts of Gnome they like and which parts of KDE they like and make their own customized DE from that if they wanted to. But instead we have ecosystems that don't interact well with each other and none of them are complete experiences without further modifications, plugins and addons.

I do wish they did a longer, produced video (something akin to Apple keynotes) instead of just a sizzle reel. On the other hand, in-depth videos take a lot of time and effort to produce compared to a blog post. Plus, a blog post is much easier to read through at your own pace.

@@softwarelivre2389 Yea it would be better with a USB.. Though you still need to flash the iso to the usb with something like rufus. But you'll have the USB to test or use Linux any time you like. You will still have issues with write speeds and heavier programs will have issues performing. I've tested this by rendering and sculpting with Blender before.

Except when it comes to scaling. Gnome has never done this well
@BrittYazel
9 ай бұрын
GTK4 apps and GNOME-Shell scale perfectly fine (including fractional scaling). The issue is applications that use older toolkits that don't support fractional scaling/vector assets, in which case they end up looking blurry.
IM SO HYPED!!!
I love your work!
Love And Respect from India 🎉❤
can we appreciate how much effort they put into breaking extensions?
Awesome!! Gnome is the best.
GNOME looks really good!
Looks nice. I still prefer KDE if I have to use a desktop environment, and awesomeWM if I dont. Good job on the new release though.
GNOME is the best DE! Period! Nice job folks!
Love it! Gnome has replaced MacOS for me (on my desktop). There aren't any nice Windows laptops so I'm still on MacOS there - at least until Asahi is good enough to daily drive. The only thing is Chrome/Chromium. It feels like Google don't put in much effort to maintain it for Linux users and it still feels like a janky foreign app on the Linux desktop. Would love it if someone would create a proper gtk4 wrapper for it so it runs as seemlessly as Firefox does. It's the primary app I use on my desktop, so some love would go a long way
Look fantastic!!! Best gnome way
My feedback: I use Ubuntu 23.04 with Gnome 44.3, it is great. But I tried Ubuntu 23.10 with Gnome 45, it is even better! A thing the video does not show is Gnome 45 makes the desktop way much faster and smoother.
Well done gnome team ... you are 👍🎉
Can't wait for Triple Buffering!! I hope it will land in Gnome 46

Great work.
you is looking good gnome 45!
Not disappoint 🔥
Very sweet. I'm always excited for every release. I really love the new activity button, with the pill and circles/dots. I am curious about the background apps, any development there?
Finally multi window mode’s here 🎉🎉🎉🎉
GNOME 45 is lookin' good for me, Why I didn't install this release before installing Ubuntu MATE?
Still don’t have a value number when using slice functions like volume, mouse speed.
Awesome!!!
Looks great! But please add icc profile support or at least some kind of color/gamma calibration support under Wayland
Bring it on. It is time to be taken seriously by big softwarehouses.
Looks nice, keep pushing the limits! That said, where is Ubuntu's triple buffering vsync patch and will it make the cut for Gnome 46?
better and better :), how you guys get that nice tilling in 0:11 ?
Beautiful 🤗
When did they add tiling?
It would be nice to be able to change the color of the keyboard light
Honestly looks great! Please add accent colors.
I would love to try Gnome but I hate the mac-style top bar. Is there a windows like theme ?
This video made me want to switch back to Linux again
Why gnome's website is down?
Supporter for life
please make compact version of Adwaita
ah yes the classic bass beat and clapping combo
when will u add a mous pointer speed on the setting? in Kde I have the option to set my pointer speed and acceleration
does the new version means that I can not have a unified theme applied everywhere? like you know before you guys broke it
Love this update! Any news about built-in support for accent colors?!
