I had no idea of the enormous responsibility that comes with purchasing this phone... Kinda having second thoughts. All I wanted was a durable and rugged phone. Now I have to be a hero saving every day, and it's exhausting. But the phone is great. Replacing my xcover 3

I really want this phone or one very much like it in the USA! I'm so sick of fragile glass-and-glue status trinkets being the bulk of the market, with key USEFUL features (replaceable battery, headphone jack, microSD slot, etc.) removed and derided as "old fashioned". I realize this is posted by Samsung UK - but I sure hope Samsung USA will release this phone!

The xcover existed for 11 years

Those wipe transitions are so smooth.

Now i have got the Xcover 4 and the Xcover 4S. Love them. After 3 years of falls, water, immersion, intensive use, snow..everything it still works. Sadly on the Xcover 4 i have broken the cover..water came inside and i have got the water inside the screen..but it is my fault.

I'm hoping there will be an XCover 6 this year. Speaking of that, where can you buy the XCover phones? I had a feeling you don't buy that in a physical Samsung store, or the Samsung website for the everyday consumers.

Good idea but be better if it had more internal storage and a great camera for use on site. Also doesn't have wireless charging for when the plug in gives up which it will.. Not trying to be negative but my s10e is waterproof and is reasonable with dust and has gorilla glass.

日本でも出してほしいなぁ～。 MIL規格のタフネスボディでバッテリーもユーザーで交換出来るし結構魅力的なんだよね。 日本ではGalaxy A51とかA20などミッドレンジ&ローエンド端末 出てるけどバッテリー交換がユーザーで気軽に出来ないし。 Xcoverシリーズもまた出してほしい。S5 ActiveとActive Neoで最後…だけは勘弁。 頼むよdocomoさんauさんSamsungJapanさん。

Love it . Now if you guys add removable batteries to Samsung S line up you guys will be legends and beat iphones battery $$$$

I'm the kind of guy that want a no nonsense kind of phone. I'm also the kind of guy that posts a positive review if something lives up to my expectations. I'm also disappointed to say that this phone stopped working after 13 months. I'm also the kind of guy that buys a second phone of the same type if it serves me right. Too bad every phone is put out of production by the time it has proven itself ( if that ever happens).

It has 2 years of warranty I believe... that said I'm not 100% satisfied with it. I was very happy with my 8+ years old Xcover3, but the mini-jack was not in a good shape, the cover not waterproof anymore, the system not upgradable for years, so I decided to replace it with the Xcover5 "enterprise", and I'm like meh...? It takes 2 x longer to start, I had first to spend 1 hour online, restarting several time the system, I can't do anything without pressing a 2nd time every option to confirm... If the old Xcover 3 was not slowly losing it, I would keep it for a few more years.

@@DR_1_1 A phone that lasts 8 years sounds better than anything I ever had. I still think the xcover5 is the best phone I had. Too bad it didn't even last the 2 years within the warranty. I still had to go all the way to a samsung store to get it fixed and another time to pick it up again. And got it back with the memory wiped. which was very inconvenient alltogether. When it dies there will probably be no phones anymore that are as compact or have aux. It's crazy how my laptop is over 10 years old and still working, but a phone that is made 1 year ago doesn't even last 2 years... A lot of people are always looking forward to getting a new phone, but I am not looking forward to getting anything more modern. I don't want to pay for a huge screen or quintuple camera. And I don't want to trade battery capacity for a paper thin device. And I don't want any huge corporation to get access to my fingerprint or any more information than they need from me. I think the xcover 5 is pretty good, and if it would last a lifetime, I would never buy another. But that's not what samsung wants ofcourse......

The Xcover Pro is pretty much superior in every dept from the much higher res 6.3" screen the higher capacity battery, faster cpu, more hard buttons, pogo pin support etc etc...it is a bigger heavier phone though....from what i've read the only thing the Xcover 5 can do is support a larger sd card at 1TB. In fairness, the Xcover 5 is meant to succeed the Xcover 4 and the Pro is still it's own current 'enterprise' phone.

@@kyle_vr not that i know of, i have one myself. it is currently the best ruggedized galaxy as of today....ive heard rumors of a 5g true successor forthcoming for the pro, but havent found any definitive info. The only thing i wish my pro had was an amoled screen like my S5 Active had.

It's mandatory in Europe now, I think. Previous Xcover already had removable batttery. In fact when you buy, it the battery is not inserted in the phone.

It's all cool and all, but I'm pretty sure cops don't use smartphones for internal communications... They still have the good old reliable radios.

Not remotely rugged. Mine lasted a month. My comparable spec Cubot Quest has suffered far worse conditions and is going strong after 3 years, and was half the price.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! interface from the previous era. Photos in low light are practically impossible to use. The lack of stabilization is another problem. And this is supposed to be a phone for 2022? Overall it's very bad even for the price. P.S. I remember the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact from 8 years ago, it was much better.
