Thanks for the detailed and informative video. I'm just using my first straight razor and figured I can only hold onto my pride until my face is disfigured from improper shaving, or I give it up and look for instruction.

Fabulous tutorial?

New subscriber. Great tips. I’ve been SR Shaving about 8 months. The first 7 1/2 I wore a large beard so I was only shaving neck and cheeks. I’ve shaved the beard off and am finding the upper lip and chin area quite a challenge. I got some good info from this.

Thanks for sharing your experience John. Lots of us (newbies?) are struggling with moustache & chin areas. I will definitely try your techniques tomorrow.

Used your tips today for the first time - had my best shave yet! I'm still a novice, about 10 shaves total so far. Thanks for your great series. Breaking it down into the 3 parts of the beard was really helpful, as was detailing which hand to use when. I hope your videos get many many more views, they deserve it!

did you use straight razor for your neck around adam's apple part ? I was affraid using the straight razor on that area.

I started on my neck with a pass with the grain and then move to a second pass on my neck against the grain, and if I needed a third pass close to my Adam’s apple I would go against the grain as well, but I would just turn my razor to a little bit of an angle

And thus nose reattachment surgery came about.
