Jitskid, these large scotty downriggers are not needed for little aluminum lake boats. Also, I would never use a rail clamp system for a downrigger. No matter how light the gear is. You can hang up on bottom or what ever and tear your railing off and lose everything.

You can adjust the drag on scotty dowriggers to avoid that problem

I'm new down rigging and I find myself clumsily fumbling around, so I'm trying to figure it out. My wife just laughs as she out caches me with lead core line with a lot less effort.

This video was NOT helpful. What a waste of time. You did not show anything about how to use the down rigger. Your whole video was shot from too far away. You did nothing to help someone learn how to use the down rigger, you make so many assumptions about people already knowing...
